I wasn't on yesterday due to working a 13hr shift, but something happened last night that scared the shit outta me. For those of you that don't know I work 3rd shift at a gas station. Dangerous shift in a dangerous neighborhood. I wish my life wasn't so "exciting" especially when it came to what happened. So, lets get started...
I was working and taking care of customers when I heard an argument going on outside. A big black dude yelling at a Hispanic guy saying I WANT MY MONEY! Since it was happening on my lot after dealing with the rest of the customers I go outside (by this time the black dude had already left) and talk to what little people are left on my lot. I talk to about 2 people and they haven't got a clue as to what had happened.
Finally I walk over and talk to the Latino guys. They tell me that they have been robbed by the black dude in the SUV and one of the guys (Latino dude) was on the phone with the cops. Unfortunately the Latino guys were blazed out (most likely not on our sweet herb) and couldn't speak English very well so he handed the phone to me and I explained to the dispatcher that the guys WERE (past tensed) robbed. Or so they say.
So, I gave the dispatcher my name, store address, and my store title (Clerk) and she got off the phone with me assuring that an officer was on the way. So, I locked my store door and stood outside talking to the few witnesses that seen what had happened. Mind you this entire time I am in complete store uniform. Remember that. It will come in handy on this next part.
I heard sirens so I knew the cops were almost there so I continued talking to the guys reassuring them that everything was going to be okay. Four cops come zooming into my parking lot and stop right in front of us. One cop got out and ran over to us with his gun drawn pointing at us yelling at the top of his lungs GET DOWN! GET THE FUCK DOWN! NOW! SHOW ME YOUR HANDS! So now I'm paranoid as hell cause I don't like being at gun point and here he is holding a gun to me like I'm a criminal.
So terrified I do what he says. I go down on my knees and keep my hands in plane few. After getting all witnesses down on their knees they patted us down for any weapons that we didn't have. I called out to the officer basically interrupting him from what I knew was about to be a stupid speech about how we need to be still & quiet. I said "Sir, I work here. Can I please stand up?" Mind you I was nervous as hell. I'm not making anything up. I was almost in tears.
The officer looked at me and told me I could stand up and go talk to another officer. So, I went and talked to another officer about what very little I knew. After telling him everything I knew I was able to go back inside the store (THANK GOD!). To make a VERY long story short they said they were going to look for the vehicle, and just gave the guys (Latino guys) a report number.
I hate cops. They are the only ones that can get away with pulling a gun on a group of innocent bystanders.
