I assume you're talking about the reporting... what a piece of shit article... ZERO information on the bust. Wish they would've done their job.Quote:

Sounds like Broomfield is not very friendly.
I guess Broomfield is just ready to screw 'em all. 23 active marijuana investigations. there must be no other crime there. the economy is tough - if they have this much time to devote to weed - lay some of them off!

they must have already fixed this problem

On this mornings news it stated that there have been no charges filed. I wonder if he has not been charged how is this news, hell even if he has been charged 26 plants is not exactly busting a mexican cartel. Did they take his plants and equipment?
I felt pretty good for awhile, I am a hobby grower and feel if they want to bust this 56 year old woman for a few plants...well, let them. I really felt it was all about the large grows of 100 plants or so, guess I was wrong.
Wonder if this guy was doing alot of talking, or if he was not medical. Maybe both
Yeah, he's probably not legal. And if he was, he was probably talking too much and violating the plant limit... Nice of them to not mention any of that in the article though.
I'm thinking he shipped (mailed) the two five pound packages of MJ to California, and THAT is what led them to bust him.
That still being a State and Federal crime. They are likely trying to see if, or how, they can charge him under the propagation and distribution charges.
I also wouldn't doubt that, they might try to hold out for HB10-1284 to pass then add a few more on top too. However 26 plants is less then the number allowed for five patients. So, he won't even need a grower license under the new rules at that count.
I agree with vance, the boarder shipping is what screwed him.
i have a lousy 3 lil baby pants here and i do have a 5 yr old son. have my temporary papers for the card but i still worry hear and there. i dont have a green thumb for shit so im not expecting to be any monster grower but until the laws are truly cleared and safe, its a bit scary still.
Im new to this so any input to ease the mind would be greatly appreciated :-)
Thus far, other then people doing something stupid. No private papered patients growing within their legal rights have been busted anywhere in the state. I could be wrong, but I'd think if someone got busted, with papers, with six or fewer growing, and three or fewer flowering. It'd be all over these boards. Which it hasn't been. I know cops have "inspected" a few, and walked away too. Plus have searched peoples cars after buying clones, to insure they didn't have to many. Again walking away leaving the person freaked out (legitimately), but with no citation, and WITH the rooted clones.
I know one guy who got a ticket, in his car. His meds were not in a marked med bottle, and that is what the ticket is for.
This guy (OP) shipped it to Cali! :wtf:
The guy with something like 20,000 plants.:wtf:
The guy who bragged on 9NEWS, (also had WAY to many plants).:wtf:
WAY TO GO CCF!! They always give it in marked Meds bottles.
I make them put the labels on them and write my lil notes on them also sativa/ indica couch locker etc lol like to know what im getting myself into before hand hahahahah
but that does ease the noggin! thanks :-)
I doubt that's why he got busted unless he's a total idiot.
When sending something its damn near impossible to bust the sender. Really the only way you'll do that is if you get the receiver to roll on the sender...
That's enough plants to have some stink. People get busted growing for all sorts of stupid reasons. Besides I think they were talking about another case in the article when they mentioned the shipping.
I got 3 little clones now and my mountain kush stinks up the whole room. its crazy :-)Quote:

Just want to clear a few things up. Brain Strict was the guy who was busted with 26 plants. There is only two sentances or so talking about him and the rest is talking about others who were busted.
William Frank was the guy who got caught up with shipping marijuana, he was recieving it from california for his "internet dispensary business".
Just goes to show, we have a somewhat legal marijuana system, stay within the confines of that system and we should have nothing to worry about.

Has any news outlet made firm mention of his status or claim as a patient or a caregiver?
I am the property owner in this case, and a personal friend of Mr. Strick. For the record, he IS a carded MMJ patient since November 2009. In fact, he lost his wife, to whom he was a caregiver for (in the truest sense!), to breast cancer in 2008. He has no kids, and lived at the house with a part-time room-mate who also is a carded patient since November 2009. I was aware of what was going on and assumed that he was within' his carded limits. Brian is keeping very quiet about this due to his fear of police retaliation. I, however, am furious as they have omitted some pretty redefining details. First, they did not knock as they should have! Brian is a patient who WAS ABLE TO PRESENT A VALID MMJ license(didn't see that in thier report???)!!! Right now, all equipment and some plants remain there! There were also 4 other licenses applied to that address, one is my own! That means that technically Mr. Strick was NOT over his plant limit, but was only not able(or scared to) provide proper paperwork onsite. Of course he was only able to present his personal MMJ paperwork AFTER they blew out my $1,100 front window with a FLASH GRENADE, and battering rammed the door frame into oblivion($650)! Which begs to ask the question; "How does someone give them thier patient information AFTER they have already been "attacked" by the police??? I'm pretty sure putting your patient information outside on the front door is a violation of the HEPA act! I'm not suprised he was unable to find his paperwork for his other patients. I think I would be more interested in cleaning my shorts out at that point. He also was scared to give out his patient information lest they do the same thing to the people whom he is caregiver for. I have a 7 day old baby at home. What if they threw a flash bomb into my living rooom where my wife was nursing our infant? You know...just to see if I'm growing and had proper cards? I now feel like I live in a 3rd world country where I must be aware of all factions at all times. I am furthur troubled by the lack of correct information submitted by the Broomfield Police Department that seems to furthur thier propaganda machine and spin this brutal attack on a citizen into public safety. BPD and Metro should be ashamed of themselves! Hey...at least they didn't pump 7 shots into a Beagle this time. I'm submitting this several weeks since the event. We now have all card paperwork in order it was all predated before the event. Now... someone's released the city code enforcer on us with secret orders to shut us down. I have code violations from when the house was built, right on down to my professionally installed sprinklers! I was then told that my 60-amp waterheater timers and 20-amp plugs that I installed for electrical safety were in violation because permits were not pulled. MY WIFE WAS THEN TOLD IN THE SAME SENTENCE, "THAT BROOMFIELD WAS NOT ISSUING PERMITS FOR GROWS"!!! Sounds to me that growing in Broomfield is not allowed DESPITE the fact that the voters of this STATE said it should be. Maybe the city of Broomfield missed that Obama won the election, and nobody is supposed to be "going rogue"! Between the damage done to the house by police; the impossible list of code violations that must be fixed; and the fact that I have suddenly lost my renter and am unable to legally rent with code violations; I am pretty much forced into forclosure on that property! Way to help the economy City of Broomfield.
fuck broomfield and well i better stop there.sorry for all the bs that has happened to you.makes me sick, more than that it makes me sick at how many "mmj" people on boards are all for these bills that are in the works that will make what happened to you look like a cake walk.
are charges being filed against the police?
EOS Tim,
So sorry to hear how it went down. Do you have any idea how they got a warrant? Or what/who tipped them off?.....no knock & talk that your renter forgot to tell you about? Do you have pretty nosy neighbors?
This begets so many more questions. When signing up for MMJ do you give the police an open, no knock warrant, to search your entire house at any time?
I would like to see a copy of the search warrant too. In most jurisdictions a No Knock is only granted if the cops fear for their safety. What were their grounds to search? Looking for?
Were charges filed? Any at all? I think the ALCU would be intrested in your plight. Sounds to me (ignorant of Colorado Law as I am) that Broomfield needs a big lawsuit filed against them.
Wife of my youth and I own property in your state. We toy with the idea of living there before we get too old. If the powers that be are able to get away with crap like that I will stay here TYVM.
are there still charges pending against Mr. Strick?
