Planted 4 beans on 3/1/10 in 4 inch pots, MG potting soil, CFLs
3/5/10(PM) all 4 have just broke the surface of the dirt.
Will try to take weekly pics and post them as I can

I'll be watching! I long for the day that I am free to grow my own. Toxic Blue F2 sounds like a color for a space ship in the future. Does it come with a flux capacitor?
One that belongs to Hotblack Desiato maybe? :DQuote:

Pics at 1 week from planting the seeds. The aluminium duct tape around the bottom is sticky side out.... I have a problem with wood roaches and some other pests from time to time... they eat the new sprouts. Now they get stuck on the tape like fly paper.... no more eaten seedlings. :D
Week 2 and they are starting to grow like..... ummm......weeds. :D
Nice mate, very nice. Lookin forward to watching them grow n seein the finished product
I can't wait to see when it flowers. They just look like they'll be "juicy". Do you know the sex of the seeds before planting?
All I know about the seeds is that they are Toxic Blue F2, and that Image Reapers Nor Cal Daddys Girl are related. I am hoping that one of the 4 comes up male so I can make some more seeds. This strain ROCKS!! Nice heady high with some body stone. From experience, I don't do more that 2 hits unless I want to have to turn off the 'puter and TV cause there are too many colors :thumbsup:Quote:

Ok, just got done transplanting.... they were pretty well root bound. I didn't water them yesterday to make it easier to transplant them into their new cribs. I will probably top them(fim) sometime this week to increase the yield. In any case, here is the week 3 pic for your perusal. :D
FIMed all 4 plants today, they seem very happy in their new cribs. their size has doubled in the last 4 days.
Week 4 pics... its almost looking like there are 2 different phenos going. The 2 in the back seem to be much different from the ones in the front... differences in the physical plants, and different smells. This could be interesting.
one of the plants got a little close to the lights... in any case, this is week 5 since the seeds were planted... there has been a lot of growth this week. they are really looking healthy. Its going to be the end of April before I put them into flower unless the plants show me otherwise.... it may be sooner.
At this point I have not yet added any additional nutes... just tap water, MG potting soil and CFLs. So far so good.
let me know what y'all think.
Mississippi Steve, dude!!!! Those are some wickedly beautiful Toxic Blue F2s!!!! You're doing an awesome job with them. I'm always happy to see a fine southern grower doing good work with the green. Keep up the amazing job!!!!
Hey Steve fellow mississippian here lol very nice plants ya have there you said you are just using Mg soil is that the kind with the 3 month time release nutes or the 6 month or just some reg MG soil with no nutes i have 8 plants right now 6 are growing in MG any tips for using MG.:jointsmile::stoned:Quote:

Once I put them into flower, I will start adding molasses in every other watering.Quote:

Ah i see, thats what im using tha MG non moisture control 3 month stuff, i have 2 plants that i planted march 1 they sprouted arount the 4th and 5th those are both outside right now in tha ground. I have 6 others still inside 2 seedlings and the rest are just pushing up out the dirt, so they are all a day or 2 ahead of eash other. Oh i stay in tha southhaven area close to tunica, im sure you know where Tunica is Northeast mississippi.Quote:

I gotta reconfigure some stuff this weekend, I will post pics when the changes have been made...... changes for the better most assured.
Wicked fine results so far, Steve. A very good example of what can be done with hardware store soil and lighting. You're not using any kind of additional nutients now, right? What, if any (beside molasses) will you be using later in the grow?
Shov
along with the molasses, I use a little Shultz liquid.....about a dropper full per gallon. although with this 6 month MG, I may not have to add anything other than the molasses. One of the things I am doing once I have time to go to Lowes is to add another light bar to the fixture I built. So far, it is looking like I have 2 girls and 2 males. I want to make some seeds with this batch so I can continue this strain.Quote:

The three in the cab are all female, I have one male outside and waiting for it to ripen so I can pollenate a couple of branches for seed. The are currently just a day shy of 2 months from planting the seeds, and were put into flower on April 17th. I still have not added another light bar to the top fixture, but I will when I have time. I have attached pics for your perusal and enjoyment.
If these go as the previous grows have, I would expect a yield of better than a half pound from each plant.:D
 that's a month and a half veg time, half a month flower? Those girls are huge!!!!
Looks good man!
forgot to mention that the flower time for these ladies is around 9 - 10 weeks
hey steve man they look good more tha a half a pound per plant man thats good man i wanna get something like that go check out my log if ya want just put some pics up need all the advice i can get its in tha outdoor section :thumbsup::jointsmile:
OK.... I pollenated one of the 3 ladies with the male..... at least I hope so, and hopefully the other 2 ladies will remain virgin. ;)
In case anybody is wondering, the one I pollenated was taken outside where the male was, the male was cut down and shaken all over the lady, then disposed of. I created a small yellow pollen cloud all over the lady. Left her outside overnight, washed her off good with water, let her air dry... now she is back under the lights with her sisters.
ok.... heres the latest pics... sorry its been so long, but real life has gotten in the way.
BTW... how do I supposed know when its time to harvest the plant with alla seeds on it?? I don't want to chop her until her pregnant little self is ready to drop.
steve man those girls look great:thumbsup::thumbsup:
ok guys and gals..... here's the 64 dollar question....
I purposly pollenated one of my plants for seed....
How do I tell when the seed plant is ready for harvest??
Do I use the color of the trichs?? what color??
Do I just wait till the seed pods start dropping seeds??
A little help please??
week 4? what the hell am I doing wrong, I have 3 plants taht have been growing for 4 weeks and they are still farely small, I have them planted in fox farm ocean forest soil and they are under a 400w hps bulb. maybe there is a temp issue, it gets 95 - 100 degrees in my grow room, I am trying to correct it, what is your max temp? awesome plants by the way
Keep it simple, its a weed.....Quote:

If you read the entire thread, there are pics and discriptions.
Looks like tomorrow is gonna be harvest day.... got 50% amber trichs on the ladies... will take pics before I chop them.
hey Steve, your plants look yummy! I don't see that anyone answered your question about how to tell when the plant with seeds is ready; maybe you found the answer somewhere else? I suggest that you check the color of some of the seeds. If they are all still white, they are immature and won't sprout. You need some that have turned brown/black/speckled/etc. Those are the little mommas that will grow for you.
Good job man!
I was also very interested to read your grow log because: most ppl on this board seem to suggest that plants be transplanted from one tiny pot to the next almost-as-tiny pot. Then they end up at harvest with a few grams per plant. But you ... you went straight from popping the seed into a 5 gal bucket, and you end up with many oz per plant. (And under the lowly CFL, to boot!) I guess I'm lovin' it because this is the way I've always done it, too. LOL :rasta: Hey - you end up with more of the good stuff, is there any other point to the exercise? I've been trying and trying to understand why they recommend doing it the "tiny pots" method, still don't get it.
Thanks man as i needed the answer about the seeds myself:thumbsup: But as to your question about re potting. The more i re pot the faster i see the plant grow and builds a better canapy for catching light, but at the same time i believe ya do what works for you. Know i need to go back and read the first page, lol Rep given,Quote:
