First time growing, a lot of questions...
Hey there, so the time has come to grow my first plant..
first of all, about the box:
1. should i better use transparent material or should plywood be ok?
2. how many holes do i need for ventilation? should i use a computer ventilator?
3. should i use a fan to make it warmer in there? i will use classic wolfram light, i think it generates a lot of heat..
4. How long does one plant grows?
5. How often should I watering it?
6. Will I get any more seeds from one plant?
sorry for my bad english, and every answer appreciated.. :smokin:

First time growing, a lot of questions...
you want to make your box lightproof so no light escapes...next i would do some searching and reading of others grows and setup to help you decide what will work best fro your sitiation!

First time growing, a lot of questions...
ok, but do i need at all any ventilation?
-
First time growing, a lot of questions...
Yes, the plant needs fresh CO2 in the air so at least some ventilation.

yes, you need good ventilation....you want to get yourself a fan of some sort to push the air around. I would use a solid material if you are going to build a box. Transparent materials would not be good when flowering....you want COMPLETE darkness!
Most indoor grows veg the plant for about 3-4 weeks depending on the amount of space you have. And watering should be done every 2-3 days depending on how dry your soil is. If you put your finger in about 2 inches and it's damp....wait till tomorrow. If it's dry....it's time to give them some water.
You shouldn't get any seeds if the plants are female. But it can turn hermie if you mess up on the light cycle or if there are any male plants in the area.
And like str8outtaweed says....get some books or get online and find what works best for you. There is a lot of information out there and tons of resources available. This is a great place to get advice as well.....good luck man!

ok, thanks man! should i turn off the fan during the dark period?

First time growing, a lot of questions...
What I did was get a timer from Lowe's and plugged all my lights and fan into the timer so that everything turns on and off at the same time. I also let the fan lightly blow on the plants just a bit to make the stalks strong.
I also use a digital thermometer/barometer to keep an eye on the temps and humidity.
Best thing to do is read, read, read. Investigate and research because growing indoors is an art and a science. Your first grow should always be looked upon as a practice run. Learn from it and apply your newly gained knowledge to future grows.

ok, thanks. and another question - how deep should i put the seed in the soil?
-
First time growing, a lot of questions...
Plant seed twice as deep as the seed is wide.
I would recommend looking into Grow faqs as well as look into grow logs you will learn everything you need.

okey, i am doing a lot of reading today... another question - how do I realise when flowering starts?
-
First time growing, a lot of questions...
yeah, you can have the fan off in night cycle. You will be the one to control when they flower by switching from your 24/0 or 18/6 veg cycle to the 12/12 flower cycle. Within a week you should see pistils growing.....you will notice new growth everyday! It's really fun and exciting....good luck!

should i do it like after 3 weeks or so?

First time growing, a lot of questions...
if your plants are at least 12", i would go ahead and start flowering. Some people veg longer and some shorter, depending on the size of your grow space. But take into consideration that the plant will still grow even when you turn on the 12/12 cycle.
I recommend when switching from veg to flower cycle to turn the lights off completely for about 48-72 hours. This helps induce flowering. After 2-3 days of darkness, it's time to switch to 12/12 cycle. Within a week or so you will see little pistils growing....more and more everyday till you have nice buds formed. Once in flowering cycle, you generally have about 8 weeks till the plants are ready to harvest! good luck man!

First time growing, a lot of questions...
okay thanks!
and, is it possible to have clones from one plant?
-
First time growing, a lot of questions...
do you mean is it possible to have more than one clone from one plant? yes, absolutely....most people that do cloning take from a mother plant that they constantly have in veg cycle. If you got your clones from a club and they are of the same strain...more than likely they are from the same plant....hope that helps!

Hello there, Transparent material is not good at all. It lets out light and you don't want that, All the light(s) you have set up for your plants should be for your plants only. Do not let is escape the grow area. I use solid white plastic to line my space, not clear.
As far as ventilation it really depends on the amount of space you have to work with in your grow area. If it is a small space then you would not really need to install any ventilation, Just opening the door to check em out once in a great while to let out the stale air. If it's a large set up, Then I would just install a ventilation box in the wall of your grow area.
Fans are great in a few ways. It keeps the air flow evenly going. It strenghthens your stems. And it makes it so it's not too humid, but just the right humidity you need, or your plants will mold.
All plants are pretty different when it comes to their grow cycle. It really depends on a lot of things as far as how long it takes a plant to grow. What kind of plant it is, how you are growing, the grow space, the lights the fertilizers etc.... You cannot really determain how long it will take until after it's about 1/2 way done.
Watering a plant is key in growing, because you cannot water it too much or too little, you do not want to suffacate the roots by watering too much, and you do not want to dry it out by watering too little, I water my plants every 3-4 days.
Seeds come from hermies or contamination from a male plant, get the males out asap and you should be fine. Happy toking!!:stoned:
