Hello to all far and near. This is Uptown from NY, just wanted to say to all the heads in NY...STAND UP! Great site and hope to talk to more of ya! Anybody out there remember when Sheep Meadow was drug central? I went to school on Central Park West so, growing up, the Meadow was an integral spot for a young explorer. I saw Tompkins Sq Park mentioned but TSP was always a shithole, as far as the quality of people, not to take anything away from the real hedz but, it's all filth! At least the in the Meadow you had a serene, for NY that is, setting in which to do your thing.

Dude New York rules your lucky to live there. Be glad you dont live in the damned bible belt.

Haha yes I AM thankful I don't live in the bible belt, or anywhere else where the mentality is something along the lines of "Gee whiz George Dubya now THAt is my kinda president doin so much for our here country, killing all those A-rabs YEE HAWW!" Ok, rednecks are everywhere, even in abundance in NEW YORK STATE, but yes NYC is a great place to grow up and live. What DOEs suck is the NYC of today is waaaaaay different from the good ol NYC I grew up in. Believe it or not, Manhattan and even Brooklyn are starting to look and feel like SUBURBIA! Yes, it's true, hard as FUCK to believe but it is so. Neighborhoods that once had charachter and DRUGs( hahahaha ) and were chill are not populated by fucking yuppies and soccer moms and people who could give a good fuck about the history oif the 'hood they are living in. well, i don't want to turn this in to a rant so...Yes I'm a proud Noo Yawker but I also love traveling, it is so true you can live in NYC but STILL get bored. Non New Yorkers think I'm nuts when i say that buttttt hey, tis true. So...where is everybody from? ANY New yorkers at all, even you hated Jersey, CT, Westchester and Long Island peoples? Well, besides my NY my fav place is San Fran by far! Never been to L.A. but don't have the desire too, smog is not my thing i rather inhale N20!!

Hey Uptown Im from Woodside my friend...in between Corona and Long Island City..31st ave a few avenues off of Northern Blvd...I graduated from Bryant High School in Long Island City...hung out alot in Jackson Heights...Astoria..

I remember riding my bike a s akid all the way down Northern Blvd over the Queensboro Bridge to bike around Manhattan...

Those were the days.....

Yeah i guess it is touristy, but that would be like saying a native Noo Yawker couldn't refer to Ny as the "Big Apple!" I mean, seriously i know very few who DO call it the apple but hey...it is what is right? LOL..Yeah man Sf IS the shit, ( near ) perfect weather year round, GREAT BUD i mean Cali bud is world renowned especially NORTHERN CALI BUD! NY bud unless you have connects, for the most part is average. If you don't have connects then chances you are you're buying off the street which equals ARRESTS!! Yeah man i know Woodside, haven't been round those parts in a minute. but I was dating a cutie pie dominican girl from Corona. Actually she was waaaaaay out in Jamaica( yuck! ) first and then moved to the more familiar corona as in LATINO where Jamaica is more black. Queens is great man the most diverse place in the USA, not many people realize that! Actually, speaking of Corona i gotta hit the famous Ice stand out there, what's it called, where they have those OFF THE HOOK lemon ices? What could be better on a humid ass NY summer day then a lemon icey after smoking some bomb!! You ever been to Northern Manhattan, more specifically, Wash Heights? Some of it sux, and some of it is beautiful, as most places are i guess the good, the bad, and the smugly!

And as for Jackson Heights I've spent my share of time there too as well back in da days. My mother is from Argentina and of course JH has the largest Argentinean community in NY. I know it is mostly Columbian, is it still? but there are MANY South American representers in JH like Argentina, Uruguay, etc being the biggies. BTW what is your ethnic backround? And what Queens neighborhood, in your opinion, has the hottest chicks? LOL...I guess that is a matter of opinion as to what one likes huh? Me personally, being mostly Latino, I like the "mami chulas" so JH, Corona, etc...ohhh Flushing got those BANGING Asian mamis whoaa!! Walking down main street is every man's Asian girl desire, summer time WHAAAT? lol bad representation.Yea with the goo goo dolls,but the bills rock.Yea rick james is from here.Yehaw.Lived here all my life.I wouldn't say the canadian side of the falls is better,but it is more "tourist friendly".Niagara falls and buffalo are run down as shit.Our taxes here are fucking insane.propery taxes in erie county are 3 times more then in nyc.All our money goes to new york city.This year so far all the parks in the county are closed because we are in such shambles.

Yeah SF is known for their gay population, but the only reason is cuz Sf was the first city to really embrace homos. Now me persoannly, i hold to the age old adage...don't F wit me and I won't F wit you! Ny has many many gays too, but then again Sf has a little over a million people, whereas Ny has over 8 million, so it isn't as obviously a "gay" city.

Hell yeah goo goo dolls suck, but then again they don't really represent the essence of buffalo do they? I'm sure they are more hated in your hometown than loved huh? Rick James, on the other hand, that is my dog R.I.P. he was one crazy brotha though. He came from the "poor" side of buffalo If I'm not mistaken. yeah man i heard there are some real bad hoods up your way. Do peeps in buffalo hate NYC for the reason you stated? i mean hey, NYC is the biggest city in america...but alot of people don't realize that Ny state proper is HUGE and NY is not just NYC. so i take it buffalo isn't getting the gentrification treatment that NYC, and many other cities, are getting these days?

Tis a great city, unlike NY, you have many of the same things but at times it's like your not even IN a city...and as far as cleanliness, ahh man no comparison Sf is soooo much cleaner. Of course NY has 7 times the population but still...I love SF for it's weather, culture, and of course...the bud but i have to say CALI BUD to me =Humboldt/Arcata which was and probably still is the grower's country in California. That may have changed i haven't been to the Bay in 10 yrs.

What about bud junglist how is the bud scene in Buffalo? do you get a lot of Canadian bud/drugs coming down? If one has connects, of course, you can get kind pretty much anywhere. some places easier/more available than others.

well to answer your first question,people in buffalo don't generally hate people in NYC.It isn't the peoples fault,its the politicians here.PErsonally,i've never even been to nyc,or albany or syracuse even.It's just dumb shit....like all the power niagara falls generates goes to NYC
