Need a MM doctor for a child
Our son is autistic and becoming increasingly violent and aggressive. We have tried him on every prescription drug available but none have worked and we don't like giving him such strong drugs, especially when they are not even approved for use in children. However, we are so desperate to help him that we have tried it all - from every type of therapy to special ed to meds and nothing is working.
We've been reading a lot about mm for children and we have called a few mm doctors around here (orange county) but no one will see a child. His regular doctor wants to try more meds first (risperdol) but we don't want to put him on anymore of those.
Does anyone know a doctor who will see a child and recommend mm. But we also want someone who can tell us how much to give and how often because we don't want to make our son simply stoned. We simply need to try another option or at least get the information straight from a doctor who is open-minded.

Im new here and by no means a doctor,(this is my opinion)i have found after a couple of weeks or months of regular use i find when i stop for a little break for a couple of days i find myself very irritable,so maybe not a good idea,but as i said,what the hell do i know!my little cousin has autism aswell,so i understand from that point of view,have you tried sports?my cousin is only 7-8,not sure,but he has been doin tai kwon do,and i think thats helps him release as well as self disaplin and focus,hobbies etc could try tier him out,or calm him down,even tai chi,as i said,im no doctor,so dont take my word for it,:):):)gudluk with you son!

Yes, we have tried sports too. Tae Kwan Do, Tai Chi, Akido, basketball, soccer, swimming. Nothing helps the aggression at all. He seems to not have an "off" switch once he's in a mood. The sports actually made things worse for awhile because he felt so out of place and the other kids made fun of him because he is uncoordinated and because of his autistic habits.
We are not pot smokers ourselves so I just don't where to turn for any advice on this sort of stuff.

ill tell you this, you get caught giving a child marijuana, please be prepared for felony charges against you, and your child taken away....you dont even want to open that can of worms......i know someone who tried to do what your doing ( wanted to give their kid THC pills) and they got arrested, their child taken and spend like 6 months in JAIL.
i cant even phathom what you are THINKING posting something like this on an open forums online,unless your looking to get busted for something, or trying to find a DR to bust.......

I remember seeing a Montel Special where there was a family who had a child similar to yours who was actually using Medical Marijuana maybe another show but I know there was issue with laws and I believe the took the child away!! This is just another video which shows stupidity of some Dr.'s whom have no business in the medical field. I am sure she would have prescribed some mind altering drug the F.D.A. said is o.k. to poision an autistic childs mind and body for naught.
I as a child was prescribed ritalin because he thought It would do me good, just the opposite was the case because it made me a very angery child, it only pleased teachers from my figiting in class, catholic idiots of the school I went too, St. Lucys in campbell, Ca. off winchester blvd......

Hi helpme10 :) I also have a child with autism and have came across this very usefull information just last night. I will be intrested to find out if you get a doctor to come forward and help you to see if the medical use of marjuana would help your child,,,,,I mean what's the problem eh? if a weed out the ground going to benifit our children then i'd rather administer that to any prescription drug's!
Glad your as curious as me to find out if it could actually improve our children's life and our own life's and we could benifit from such a natuaral plant.
I my self have previously 'smoked dope' before but have no intension on going out buying a half ounce of canibis and making brownies for my kid! but I just wonder where thing's are going to lead here? It's all very dangerous unless administered and prescribed by a doctor! And yes you would deffo go to jail an have your kid taken from you if you did such a thing. I also could see a autistic chil beniffiting from increased concentration level's and just general more comfortable from the medical use of marjuana dosages prescribed by a doctor.
