Grasshopper - Dispensary Review
I finally stopped in here the other day on a whim as I was driving by. I'd heard a few good things on here in a couple of the threads. I think there's a couple of them, but I stopped in on the one at Federal and 23rd Ave (just south of 23rd on the west side of Federal).
First off they were robbed just a day or two beforehand, so pickings were a little slim. I think they had like 6 or strains in tiny jars behind a glass counter. From what I can recall they had Chocolope (which I got), Lemonade, CO Confidential, CO Conf Pheno #2, Little green martian, and Incredible Hulk. From what I understood everything was grown by them except the Incredible Hulk which came from a Boulder-area grower. The house-grown stuff was pretty good... not the best I've seen, but very good. I'm a pretty picky smoker with a huge tolerance. The in-house stuff was nice and appeared pretty consistent with stuff you'd find at some of the other dispensaries that get good reviews on here. The LGS from the vendor looked like some KILL! It was super fragrant... very similar to the AK-47 that was recently at CAM.
So, here's the best part: $14/g, $45/8th, $95/qtr... (which the $95 qtr doesn't make sense since you could get 2 8ths for 90... I should've asked about that but didn't realize until I just typed it. I didn't really ask about any deals above but the guy seemed pretty reasonable and friendly so who knows if you may be able to get a discounted OZ.
They had the usual fare... dried buds, tinctures, lollis... didn't see any hash. But again, they were just robbed and said that they were pretty much cleaned out overnight!

There are two Grasshoppers, as far as I know. So you went to the one on Federal? And it got robbed? Man, that's horrible! I've only been to the Grasshopper in Uptown.

Yeah, they apparently got cleaned out on New Year's Eve! So it sounds like it was maybe a burglary rather an armed attempt.
Yeah, the Grasshoppers are confusing. There are two different dispensaries that aren't affiliated. This one and then the one you're talking about is on 17th I think? What'd you think of that one?

Grasshopper is located on 17th. They're alright. I enjoyed their Super Lemon Haze. It was about an A- in my book. I got an indica called Gravity that was a B+. Both strains were their top shelf offerings.

Thank you, I am very sorry you had to come in the day after we got robbed. We are up to 12+ strains now. The hash was our biggest hit since we also make that in-house, however we should have more in the coming week along with our full line of edibles. Also on the strains we currently have: Chocolope, Cannalope, Incredible Hulk, Purple Dragon, Durban Poison, Incredible Hulk, Colorado Confidential, C.O Pheno #2, Lemonade, Blueberry, Sweet Tooth, Power Plant, Pineapple Express and Martian Mean Green. The price on 8ths is actually $48...so if you buy a quarter your save $1. We also mix and match 1/8ths and 1/4s. Hope you can stop back in :)

We were actually robbed at Gunpoint 10 minutes after we opened.
Grasshopped Alternitive Medicine opened about three weeks after us. We are not affiliated, but drop by! Dave is a nice guy and his place is cool too :)

That sucks man... I was assuming it was more of a burglary type thing. Glad nobody got hurt.
You've got a nice place and the fact that you guys grow most of your own speaks volumes.

co confidential? instead of la confidential? everyone is just renaming shit and noone knows what they are getting. this all started from cali where all these "new" strains just popped out of no where and with that a crap load of so called experts who dont know shit. suddenly everyone is holier than thou cause they had some co confidential. what a load. incredible hulk or david banner ? lets get some legitimacy here people not a bunch of fancy names for who knows what. i ask these dispensaries who the breeders are and they dont even know. pros in the industry i dont think so. anybody else feel this is wrong?

The GRAVITY is much better direct from the caregiver. And much cheaper. His prices are 37-49 an 8th. Way better than any dispensary. He also has the best Hawaiian i've ever seen and lately i've seen 4 different complete end products. [email protected]

The Colorado Confidential is actually a direct strain DNA seeds in Amsterdam. We got our Chocolope, Cannalope and Martian Mean Green seeds straight from DNA in Amsterdam. Since we sat there and talked to them for a few hours, they gave us an unstable, not for sale pack of seeds that was La Confidential Crossed with Sour Cream. They handed it to us and said "have Fun!" The result that we got were two pheno types that were really really nice. The first one we named Colorado Confidential-It has a nice punch and nice mellow Vanilla flavor. The La Confidential was more prominant. The second Pheno-type that we decided to keep we named "Colorado Pheno #2". This one smells like a strong bold coffee and came out with a more of a Sour Cream mix. We are very proud of the two and are some of our most popular (Our chocolope and lemonade are the most popular).
I can agree with you on the incredible hulk. We actually did not grow this one ourselves, but we always buy an ounce of something new and see the response that we get on it. The buds were formed correctly and it was covered in crystals with a nice potent high and smooth flavor. After all, we are only going to have in stock strains that our patients and customers want.
