Ordering seeds online. New poster, Some questions

Hey everyone. First time poster, long time lurker. Just made my account about a week ago as I'm setting up my first grow room. Ordered a 400w HPS/MH light waiting for that to come in (looks like tomorrow, yay!) and have some bag seed germating for my first grow. Anyways...


Had a couple question. I want to order some ak/47, white widow, and super skunk. (for my next grow, 2-3 months down the line - after I get the hang of things) Looks like the attitude had a great selection with freebies. Was going with nirvana because of the cheap prices.

Couple of question for you guys and girls. When you order, is it safe to use a credit card? I know it can be traced back to you but I'm not as paranoid as other posters I just don't want to get busted (obviously). Also I have heard that you never ship to your grow house, but really its the only place I CAN ship to without putting friends or family in danger. Is this a big deal? Have you guys shipped to your grow location and used credit cards without any problems?

Any tips or suggestions are welcome. Thanks for letting me be part of this community.

I've used a CC, off and on since 2005; never been a problem....:thumbsup:

EDIT:..sometimes the name and address have to match the card...sometimes just the name

usually the shipping address is a separate item

I ordered some seeds. I hope they come and I dont get screwed. This is the first and only order I plan on making for a long long time.

That's the ticket right there...only one order is best, a whole helluva lot less likely to be traced. Also, hope you didn't use the same card to buy your light & other grow stuff. Not too big of a deal but compounded "irregular, suspicious" buys to the same location give a better chance of being caught. A lot of people use the prepaid credit cards, never tried it myself but if I do order again it will be with one. Good luck and happy growing!

The more I read on various forums and through out the internet the safer I feel about this purchase. So far no one on the web I have found that has bought from the attitude has had their package intercepted (knock on wood).

They seem to be the best, a total class act.

Best prices, best customer service, best guarantee, and as far as I can see, best stealth.

I'm getting excited right now. If you are going to order, I would do so soon as this is the holiday season I imagine with the influx of mail during the holidays, you have even a less chance your seeds will get intercepted. I will post back when I do infact get them, but as of right now its looking very good.

Make sure you spend the extra cash on guaranteed shipping from the attitude its worth the peace of mind. I recently made 2 orders one guaranteed and one not. They both arrived safe and sound. Everyone is nervous when they buy seeds the first time.

until you gain some experience, I would suggest your first grow be with regular bagseeds ... regardless, I recommend you only grow one strain at a time, until you get some crops under your belt ... trying to manage different strains with different heights, and needs, can be a lot of confusing work, even for the experienced growers ... welcome to the MJ gardening world, you will probably enjoy it :thumbsup:

Yep I'm growing 6 plants right now, i germinated about 10 seeds and 8 were good so at this point they are all planted with my 400w MH light on them and I'm just waiting for the babies to sprout. Its actually a lot of fun, but I'm not too involved like I thought I would be. Too much waiting is involved, maybe this isnt such a great hobby for someone inpatient like me ;)


anyways -

I ordered the seeds to get it under my belt. Im not going to be wasting $110 on my first grow. I still need to buy a PH tester and some rockwool cubes. (among other things)

I did have a question about cloning. I know you should clone when your plant is in veg stages, but can you also do it when its in flowering stage? If so, how late in flowering can you clone it? The problem is since the seeds I bought were not feminized, I'm going to have to sort through my plants to find out which ones are my ladies. I have read that you can tell the sex when they are in flowering stages. It seems easier to clone them when in flowering stage but who knows.

You don't want to clone them during flowering. The reason is that the hormones are telling the plant to flower not to grow so it stresses the cuttings out trying to form roots and veg a bit more, causing hermies or just not rooting at all.

Just reporting back to say that I got the seeds I ordered exactly a week to the day! As time went on I stopped freaking out as much and had a good head on my shoulders but when I first ordered them I panicked a little. I'm sure some of you veterans can relate :)

Needless to say I am very happy right now and cant wait to plant these. too bad I'm waiting atleast another 2 months, but I'm sure the time will be well spent learning from my bagseed plants

Damn it my ballast just died I think. I bought it from ebay and it died and I think im out of luck. My poor plants are going to suffer without that main source of light and this just sucks. I bought a 400w online, it looked cheap but was $150. I guess you pay for what you get :( I dont know what to do right now... this sucks really bad

I have a MH and HPS and neither works.

also the fan isnt running on the ballast when plugged in. Im pretty sure its the ballast

That does suck. Is it a Mag or a Dig ballast? Manufacturer?

The good thing with the ol' Mag-type is they are usually pretty cheap to get going again. :)

For $150 it's probably a magnetic ballast, from what I've seen browsing ebay for em. Yeah they have the rebuild kits for less than $50, sometimes like $20 so you can swap out a part & test it if you're any good at that kind of stuff.

Also if it's a mag ballast at that price, it's most likely not switchable so unless one of the bulbs is a conversion bulb it's not going to work with both...Did they send you both in a kit?

At that price point I expected to see a Mag, with a MH conversion bulb. I can't help with that one. :(

I messaged the seller to see what can be done. I'm not really hopful as ebay sellers usually have poor customer service. I think im out $150. Shit happens I guess.

If you got a ballast and both lamps for $150, that is really cheap, but that may be why you had the failure. Who knows? Maybe the replacement will last 10 years. I went with more expensive stuff that was purchased locally, just to avoid that potential problem. Just be glad you weren't in flower yet.

I wasnt expecting him to replace it. I may buy another grow light from this guy just because he was nice and is replacing it. I'm happy in any case

Hey there. going good. In fact im going to upload some pictures now.

I got some weird brown spots of the a few of my leaves but I think I burnt some of them by putting my HPS 400w too close (like a foot away, not good)

Lifted it a couple feet up and everything seems to be going good.

Oh yeah also the ebay vendor got a new light out to me and I couldnt be happier. I would highly recommend them even though the first light broke down after a few days. It happens to anything electronic you could possibly buy these days, there will always be a couple lemons. The vendor handled it very well. (in case people are in the market for a high value low cost digiatal HID system)

Here is a picture. The big one is exactly 4 weeks old today.

I did have a question. I put the plants on 12/12 about 5 days ago


The big plant looks like it had the preflower "pods" growing on it. It worries me though because in between each node where there should be 1 pod, there are 2 or even 3 pods in there. It looks like it might be a male UNLESS its possible to have more than 1 female pod in a little bunch where the preflowering pods are.

If you understand the question.

However it looks like little hairs growing out of the top plant (in between where new leaves are sticking straight up, the newest leaves at the top)

I have no idea what sex it is.

The pods started out as 1 and over the last few days 1 or 2 more have grown in right next to them. If you understand the question please help me understand whats going on.

EDIT: Oh yeah the reason I dont upload pictures of the pods is because my camera doesnt have a zoom on it (phone camera)
