Noatec's G33K Grow. Long time toke, first time grow.

All my research shows the most successful people keep a grow log.
I should have written down when I planted the seeds, but I would estimate approx. 2 weeks to sprout in high nutrient coconut husk and worm poop. They have been up about two weeks.
Re-planted the girls into a deeper pot to stabilize them. Very long stems before first leaves.
Decided I was going to have to bite the bullet and go to the grow shop and spend some money or lose them.

Went nuts at the hydro store today.
Two people came in smelling like weed. Probably a good place to make connections, outside of course. It's funny the don't ask don't tell, unspoken rule.
She knows what everyone is growing, I think she smokes. The shop is doing well.

Got the following:
Dual 400w ballast, w/ 1 HPS & 1 MH
4 mesh pots
Grow Nutrients
Pump / Air Stone / tubing.
Panda Film
Stone medium Hydroton

Clay rinsed until it ran clear.
Holes cut in tubs, and sanded smooth.
Throughly cleaned pots and Tub.
Ran the bubbler for 24Hrs to airate the water.

Four pots of clay pebbles soaking in 50% nutrients.
I'll replant tomorrow evening with a ball of coconut worm mixture made with a coffee filter.

I put my res on top of a cooler and surrounded the whole thing with a space blanket. Temp is just below 80 now, It started to go past 80 until I turned the fan on. They literally seemed to come to life right before my eyes, it was pretty cool actually. I was up until 4:00 this morning reading forums.

Here's my setup.
1 dual 400W MH/HPS ballast running 18/6.
Space is approx. 5ft x 4ft.
I'm using FLORA NOVA 7-4-10 ( not sure what the numbers mean )
Water was left out ~36 hours then added 50% nutrients and ( rinsed until clear ) hydroton. They have always looked healthy , but this morning it looks like one is showing nut. burn. ( starting to yellow on the tips ). Thinking about adding a pump for slow drip, but I need to get permanent walls up this week.

Side note: I have a bunch of seeds from my last procurement. Really nice cerebral high that seems to really get my creative juices flowing. I've heard of Blueberry Kush, but not sure if this is it. It does leave a nice blueberry after taste though. I checked this out by sharing with my brother in law. He said it tasted like blueberry also. Is this the obvious reason they call it blueberry ?

Let me clarify, my first grow is unknown, just some seeds from the procurement before the last. I don't know what the strain is, but it's real spacey if that tells you anything....

This was an experiment in slow drip. I used the tiniest drill bit i had to drill a hole in the bottom of the cups. It created a tiny spout that I could aim anywhere I wanted. I call it the "Piss on MyLadies" method. Still, the cups where empty by morning. I think it needs to be a slow drip so next time a sewing needle.

I don't know what the best barometric pressure is for these ladies but the barometer is there just in case.....

My oscillating fan fell while I was at work so things where a little hot when I got home. No harm done though.
Got an aquarium thermometer for the rez.
Showing 59 degrees.
Now I need to figure out humidity.
How big a deal is humidity anyhow? Kinda hard to keep things moist in the winter.

I've never met so many friendly, laid back, obviously, cool people than when I started reading these forums. Seems no matter where you go people are always eager and willing to help the new guy. Although I don't really feel like a new guy. I researched Hydroponics and indoor growing for months before buying anything. When a regular connection dried up I had to do something or go without. I don't like to go without a nice wave on my 8ft. rusty.

Ran out of 2x4s for the walls, so I'll use my HD gift card from my brother to buy more. The plants are looking very healthy and green. I'm curious when to add nutes. I don't want to mess up a good thing.

Any suggestions ?

you need to get those temps down a bit to optimize the grow condition. they are going to be stressed at that high of a temp, so they'll grow slower. what kinda venting you got?

just make the air in there flow better and have a little vent and you will be fine... remember odor control.

I adjusted the small oscillating fan and got the temp down to 83. Odor is starting to become an issue. Although my wife and I rather enjoy the smell. So far you can only smell it in the basement. I'll finish framing the walls this weekend. Not sure where to run the vent.

It's my understanding that you cannot sex them until they are two weeks into flowering, is this correct?

naw around 4 weeks i think they start to show pre flowers.. not sure if the time is right but they DO show before you flower if you give em more time..

Mainegrown is kinda right, some strains will show sex early, while still in veg, some might not, and yeah, it takes about 2 weeks or so of 12/12 to find out. This is where cloning comes into play. If you have to space/supplies, you clone each of your plants, get roots, and throw them into 12/12 while the mother of the clones continues to veg and get bigger/heal, then you know which plants are females and which are males.

I'll try to get a closeup shot of one of the internodes this evening. I don't see anything but new leaves forming. After last night I only have a single bowl left, but I still don't want to rush things.

Don't rush things man, good things come to people with patience. Expect to still have to buy some weed at least for another 3 months.

I just made a grand discovery. The fireplace has two small access doors in the basement. I's right next to the grow room so I can vent up the fireplace. I'll send a pic. Got a nice christmas eve beam & bud buzz going right now.

Started Season 1 of Weeds with my wife. Blizzard outside.

the strains I normally grow will show sex at 6 weeks of veg. If I put them into flower earlier (like week 4) they show within a week.

Braved the weather to get more 2x4s to finish framing. All that's left is to cut and put up the walls and staple down the panda film. I'll post a close up pic tomorrow. I'll bet someone can sex them.

season one is GREAT.. i personally like seasons two and three more.. just me though

I agree, season 2 & 3 are the best. I have yet to see season 4 or 5. Pretty long wait on netflix for it.
Finished putting up the walls and took care of the ventilation issue. Luck would have it that there is an unused opening in the vent side of the fireplace.

sorry no help with the sex..to my inexperienced eye there is no sex yet...just me though wait for some of the others to help..
and seasons 4-5 are CRAZY!! Nancy is crazzy and so is her youngest, thats all i got to say about that but it gets better and better in my opinion...

Wow !!! My four plants have really taken off. I'll post pics in the AM.
They are ~10 inches tall now. I'm considering starting the flower stage this weekend.
At their current rate of growth they should be a foot tall by then, however the nodes have not started to alternate. So far I've been really patient with this process, which completely out of character for me.
I've got 12 Blueberry strain seeds I plan on starting on the 12/12 from seedling method I read about when I start flower on the four I've got cooking now.

I'm sure there are many opinions on this, love to hear them.
