noob question about flowering
First dumb question is, does every 1 count the time in flowering from the day they put it in 12/12 or when it starts to preflower? i also have a couple more questions. i have lower fan leaves turning yellow, amd it been in 12/12 for 32 days. Ph is 6.4,6.5 and in good fox farm soil in a 3 gallon bucket with drain holes. Nute are 1 time a week with some 4-10-4. and my last question can u tell me by pics what strain it might be? like how long it should flower. also hows it look for 32 days in 12/12 pics included and its 38' inches tall. THANKS for your help!:stoned:
noob question about flowering
1 thing i forgot to mention is the stems going to the fan leaves are red but only those stems, the rest of the plant stems are green and healthy. any input?
noob question about flowering
yes u start counting from when when u change 12 12 and the yellowing is due to either the sugars from the leaves going into the bud as part as the process or i dont know if ur using organic or synthetic nuts but i give my plats nutraint every time i water about ever 4 to 5 days in veg stage and water less when in flowering to in cress thc hoped i helped

yes the red stems r perfectly normal. the only sgins the stems will give u if there is a problem is if the plant is to cold and that will be little purple dots. and yes it looks like u have 60/40
sativa/indica
so it will take a few more weeks to flower then a pure indica and water alot less in flowering to incress thc good luck my friend looks good so far and dont worry about the questions wev all been there

Red stems can also mean deficiency but some types and growth stages can have them normally. Not too much of a problem

red stems are normal for some strains and can be signs of deficiencies on others.
just curious as to how you came up with a 60/40 sativa/indica number?
how does watering less increase THC? do you have any scientific proof or anything to back up your claim?

he's right about the counting of flowering time. also, he is correct about the yellowing fans. this is prefectly normal as a plant flowers it will use up food from fan leaves to put into bud production.
the red on the stems can be an indication of a nute deficiency or could be part of the strain.
the fan leaves and plant structure don't indicate a sativa dom IMHO.
as far as when to harvest, you need to check the tirchs to figure this out. they go from clear to cloudy to amber. amber is over-ripe and if you let them go too long the THC will start to degrade quickly although the plants will pack on a good more bit of weight. this is a common trick that commerical growers use.

I've hear the watering thing too before, not sure if it's just an old wive's tale but it's supposed to have something to do with the resin coating the buds to prevent excessive moisture loss if I remember correctly...

That's what I was thinking...x-mas tree shape usually means indica dom. Also the wider, closer spaced fingers on the leaves point to indica.

plants transpire water through their leaves, more specifically guard cells on their undersides. scientists don't even know why cannabis plants produce trichs. they have some theories, but they are nothing more than that.

wow guys thanks so much for all the input!! I could of only hoped for so much feedback:D 1 more noob question for you guys. Should i let the yellow leaves just dry up and fall off or should i cut them off? The reason i ask i cut 1 fan leaf off that was really yellow and drying up. I hope i didnt shock the plant in the process! Anyway this is my first grow and i couldnt of got this far without all you great peeps! If i could id send you all a fatty off her when she is done:joint1: i hope i get a decent yield considering im using cfls. i have a shit ton of them on her. But my next grow will be pro!!! "no cfls".. Anyway thanks again for all the help!
noob question about flowering
know thats fine but from now on let thenm just fall
noob question about flowering
you want to let them fall off as the plant uses all the remaining moblie nutrients from the fan leaf before it decides to discard it. if you absolutely must pull them off, just give them a light tug, if they remain on leave them.
you won't hurt your plant by pulling just one off or two off.
