am about to buy some 5X Salvia from a local "headshop" got 3 questions..
will I get asked for I.D (i've braught pipes, gores and blunt wraps from there wit no probs)
is 5X worth worth $30 will I get a decent hit
and to any N.Z tokers (or anyone who knows about spots or "hot knifes") would it be better to spot it or use a butane light through a cone?
$30 is a rip off, look online for sum, salviaworld sells 20x for $27
problem is I havn't got a credit card..
Don't pay 30 a gram for 5x. That's doubled what it should be. Probably won't get IDed. Use a torch/dual lighters when you smoke it.
use a money order to buy online, or get a prepaid visa gift card they sell'em at most malls.

Honestly though, I wouldn't bother with it unless hitting it HARD, so you can see whats up. Get some 15 or 20x, and smoke it as hard as you can in that first minute or so before you start to feel it (preferrably through a b).

"Salvia" (Salvia divinorum is the species you are refering to) is related to many common household varieties of cooking sages and mints. Salvia is the sage genus in the Lamiaceae family. It is related to mint, lemon grass, shit like that. It has square stems and opposite leaves, very characteristic of the family (MJ has the same characteristics, but the floral characteristics vary a lot). Salvinorin fucks you up. I used to like, not anymore. It is just to weird for me these days. I like to just chill, and it is hard to on "salvia". The web site recommended is good. Check it foo!

The active component of S. Divinorum, Salvinorin A, is the most potent naturally occurring vision inducer, but is not an alkaloid- its molecule contains only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
Chemically, Salvinorin A, is a neoclerodane diterpene, a psychotropic terpenoid. The grouping of psychoactive plants containing terpenoid essential oils includes Salvia Divinorum, Wormwood (Absinth), and Cannabis.
A dose of 200 to 500 micrograms produces profound hallucinations when smoked. Itsâ?? effects in the open field test in mice and locomotor activity tests in rats are similar to mescaline. Salvinorin Aâ??s action in the brain are not well elucidated. However, recent tissue testing (in vitro assays) have suggested that Salvinorin A may act at the kappa opiate receptor site.

Whats a good dose for someone never using salvia before? I know everyone takes it differently, but on a general scale, what X extract and hits should be sufficient for a beginner?

i have one question regarding the experience, i know its not very long i hear only 5-10 minutes of intense shit and alittle after effects, but when its at the most intense point of the trip will i be able to talk myself down if im having a bad trip, like on dxm if im freaking out i can just tell myself i just took a drug and ill be normal again and it helps ease my nerves, would i be able to do this when tripping on salvia if i get a bad trip or do i just have to deal with being scared shitless?

I smoked some just last weekend...haven't had any for aboot a year, so I got myself a little bag of 10X. smoked a single bowl of it, in a bubbler, with a butane soldering torch (super hot flame) and I held it in, and laid down on my bed. I shut my eyes for maybe a second, and then I was leaning against my doorframe, fifteen feet away...then I realized that it wasn't my doorframe, it was my matress, and I wasn't actually standing...then I turned to look at the door, and I was still leaning against the door frame. which as it turns out, was actually my matress all along.
and apparently I was on my balcony too...when I was able to walk without walking into things (maybe half an hour later, I'm not sure, I think I took a nap) I discovered the door wide open and both cats sleeping in the sun. I found it remarkeable because I had no recollection of going outside.
so in closing, salvia is a lot of fun, but be very careful! for your first time don't go so high as 15 or 20X, its way too intense to do that your first time. 10X should be more than enough; the 2 gram baggie I got for $30 canadian is enough for four people, for a weekend ;)
I feel I should add, for the indefinite period of time where I kept discovering my doorframe and matress, each time I realized "I've done this before" and turned to check, there would be an infinite number of me's and doorframes branching off behind the one in front...kinda like two mirrors reflecting each other into oblivion. and for a little while, I was scared that I would be doing this forever, but another part of me was more scared that this was all there ever was, I've just been having a wonderful dream of life and love and things that are not matresses and doorframes, now I'm done dreaming and its back to work.

Nah though, I don't think you'll get carded to buy it. Do drug dealers ask you for i.d before they had you a demo or a dub? LOL, don't worry about it. Also, I don't believe 5X Salvia is 30$. Check to see if it's some good extract before you buy it.

Could someone specify this extract lingo. Theres the actually Extract, standardized, non-standardized, premium, concentrated, extract enhanced.... whats the difference with all this?
Oh yea, i forgot to add one thing.... has anyone ever felt ANY effects from just the plain old dried leaves? I know a guy who got some from ebay, just wondering if they do anything. I'm thinking im gonna get some salvia and some wild dagga FLOWERS, i hear the foliage is pointless.

Extract: The level of potency, 5 x normal, 10 x normal, 15 x normal, up to 20 generally.
Standardized: A more pure form of extracted salvia. Non standardized has a lot more tar and junk on it. I recommend you get standardized for health benefits.
Premium: Quality of the basic salvia is premium.
Concentrated: See extract. Unless it's in a liquid form, it could mean this too.
Extract Enhanced: same as non standardized, most likely.
Don't listen to these guys talking about taking multiple hits of 15 or 20x your first time. Take one very large hit, and hold it in as long as you can. The longer you hold it in, the more powerful it will be. Take 2 if you mess up the first inhale. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SITTER. Hand the sitter your bong/smoking device as soon as you are done hitting, especially if it's cherished glass. Be prepared to seriously trip balls. And don't do it with your main objective being fun. I definitely wouldn't have called the first time fun. It was insane. I thought I was a door spinning through a spiraling vortex, and that all I had ever been was a door and all I ever would be was a door. Time kept repeating. I didn't remember who I was, that I was on salvia, or that reality wasn't based on doors and spiraling vortexes. The come down was especially bizarre as I began to vaguely remember reality. It was like remembering a dream you had the night before and not being sure whether you just made it up or not, or whether it really happened. Respect is the main word here.
im not sure skarz but from what i know the standardized extract is supposed to be pretty good.... god I wish someone would explain it to me as long as its not to technical
