I listened to General Petraeus this morning on CNN and he was much more informative. We search, seek and destroy (or run off) the irreconcilables and we make our acquiesce with those who would like to come in from the cold.

I don't know what to believe yet. When your generals request more troops and you put it off for 100+ days and instead focus on health care that nobody wants, there is something wrong in this picture. People die while he waits. That's cold and unfeeling.

What I'm curious about is, are our troops so poorly trained that we need 100,000 of them to capture or kill 100 Al-Qaeda soldiers? It sounds pretty insane to me and I would think it makes the job easier for the guerilla fighters to target large groups of American soldiers.

Point well taken and regardless of what side of the political issue you are on, has to be addressed. My thoughts would be.. 2000 years and this country has never had a real government, has been nothing more than tribal hill fighting thugs. And guess what? They have kicked out every army to ever go in there. There are more than 100 to be honest to the argument though. This is one of those no-win no-lose situations.
