Alright, well my apologies to you IslandBorn...just found it a tad rude the way you made an input to this thread. But, to each their own.
Also to be honest, I have seen a few of your posts beforehand and probably have some bones to pick, leading me to respond rudely as well. Normally I just wouldn't have said anything back.
It is too bad though, as it seems you haven't experienced anything to your liking here. For me:
1. The nature - there are some of the most pristine forests, rivers, lakes, and wildlife ever in Canada. Algonquin Park is home to one of the most diverse ecosystems there are, and I personally find it beautiful to experience.
2. The government is more of a joke than a threat - I see a lot of people in other nations who are afraid of their government. It is to be expected in many third world nations run by tyranny, however there seem to be many in the good ol' USA who think that their government is trying to imprison them and take their guns and children...I live comfortably knowing my government has no more power than the average person.
3. The people - Canada has some of the nicest people on earth. Its not by accident that many people traveling choose to wear a Canadian flag on them somewhere. This reinforces my belief that Canadians are respected around the world, and that's great.
and the best one for last:
The sweet sweet mary jane we have. From east to west we have a fine selection, and nowhere in Canada is there a regional disadvantage when it comes to quality or quantity of herbs. Amen!

Yeah it was nice that one summer to be freely smoking...well, actually its always like that...;)
And the judicial system used to be my last hope, but our current PM has made a few ugly changes in that respect.

I've been to Canada twice.
First time was to take a canoe trip through Algonquin park. It was one of the most incredibly beautiful camping trips I've ever been on. :thumbsup:
Second time was driving from Alaska to the lower 48 (Montana). Again, we traveled through some very beautiful country. We were hauling 3 horses and received help and lodging for our horses at every stop. Folks went out of their way to help us out with them all along the way. Stopped in Dawson Creek at the stampede grounds and met some folks that we still correspond with. They were so friendly. They helped us get a real nice cottage rental at a great price and invited us to dinner, their home, and took my family sight seeing in their company van. As for the town itself, it was like going back in time. Full service with a smile everywhere we went, including the gas stations! It was so great, we almost stayed there.
