Bag VS Whip, Volcano VS ????
Cost aside, what is the best vaporizer around? I've been looking at purchasing a Volcano, but I am unsure of how good the bag system is. What would happen if the company went under and I couldn't get replacement bags?
I would also like one that isn't going to introduce new toxins into the mix because of bad workmanship.
Where is a reliable place to buy one in Canada?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

I dont see volcano "going under" anytime soon, and even if they did there are lots of diy replacement bag techniques on these boards

Answer: There is no one best vaporizer. There are many that do certain things really well, but none that do them all better than any other.
This is not an opinion, but an irrefutable fact.
So, in order to answer your question, you need to nail down your needs and priorities.
Is this gonna be used as a party vape, or primarily a personal vape.
What's more important to you, efficiency or getting huge bong like vapor rips.
Is it going to be primarily used at home or when you're out and about.
How important is the stealth factor.

Previous post hit it, but I will give two thumbs up for the volcano. You just can't go wrong with it, period.

You can if you want efficiency 'cause there's more efficient vapes out there than the 'Cano.
Also, if you like a very thick super rich high vapor to air ratio hits, there are other vapes that can do that better than the Cano also.
There are also vapes out there that have a higher stealth factor than the Volcano.
So yeah, you CAN go wrong with it if the above things are VERY important to you. That being said, the Volcano is a very good vape, ESPECIALLY in party situations. Hands down, the best party vape on the market.

I would like to use it for both a party vape and a personal one.
I would like both efficiency and bong like rips.
Only used at home.
Stealth is very important, don't want the kids to smell it.

lol.........me too, but it's a compromise. A vape that will give you bong like rips does so at the sake of efficiency and visa versa.

What about looks. Would you like to have a vape that you could leave out on the coffee table without anyone knowing that it is a vaporizer, but instead, an aromatherapy device?
Regarding smell, the smaller the bowl, the less it will smell.
If you really want to do all the things you mentioned, you need to get two vapes.
Here's what I have. I use the Purple Days as my daily workhorse because it is the most efficient vape on the planet...........but, I pull out my Da Buddha when I want a bong like rip or when I want to use it for a party. Also, the PD is very stealth in that it looks like a wooden coke can that is actually an aromatherapy device as well as having the smallest bowl of any vape on the market which means that it will smell less than any vape on the market. And unlike the Volcano, the Purple Days and the Buddha are totally silent.
There is no vape on the market that is both as efficient as the Purple Days while providing a bong like rip like the Buddha can provide.

Also, same question for da budda.
Is the purple days good enough for 2 people?
How does da budda compare to the volcano for parties?

TOTALLY RoHS compliant. One of the only vapes on the market that is.

The Da Buddha is not RoHS compliant, but is considered a very safe vape.
Yes the PD is good enough for 2 people.
In a party situation, a bag type vape like the 'Cano would be a better choice because it takes all the user error out of the equation. With whip type vapes like the Buddha, there is a bit of a learning curve.

 for the Puple-Days. Every vape fan needs a PD. ;)

Bag delivery is a no brainer. Just fill and suck. The DBV, with its hands free connection, takes care to avoid having newbies bust your wand with careless use.
If you want bag delivery, I highly recommend the herbalAire or Extreme over the Volcano. You can get either one (if you shop around), plus a PD, plus a Magic Flight Launch Box for portable use, all for about 20 bucks less than a Volcano Classic. I've got the herbalAire and it fills bags just as well as the Volcano, just takes longer to fill. The 'cano fills bags in a hurry, so it's a better party vape, but damn that's a lot of money just to cater to your friends.

OK, thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to go with a Purple Days for the solo events and I'll do some further research into either the Herbalaire or the Volcano. I've read good things on all three of those products, so I'm not too worried about purchasing any of them. Thanks for selling me on the bag system, wasn't too sure before why they were a good thing.
One last question: Where is a reputable source, preferably in Canada, to purchase? US source is fine if they are willing to ship via USPS.
Again, thanks for all the input.

Source for which vape? The PD you can only get from vapenow.com, and they do ship to Canada (there is a wait time for delivery, currently 6-9 weeks-worth the wait though). They also sell the other vapes you mention. Any US vendor or manufacturer will be shipping postal to Canada. Rockwise.net (Canadian) is your best bet for the Extreme. Vaporize.ca and Vaporizers.ca are both good Canadian dealers. The latter has been in business a lot longer. Also check eBay. These dealers and others sell there and you'll usually save a few bucks by going through eBay.

I don't dissagree there might not be other good vape's out there. But for how long will others work should be taken into account. What I mean by you can't go wrong is it's like buying a toyota. It might not have the most power etc. but it will do what it's build to do, and well, for a long time. You can't say that for all vapes.

Well, 7th Floor has a Silver Surfer that's been running for about 8 years non stop. Simple passive whip vapes really only have the heater and temp control to worry about, and quite a few models have a lifetime heater warranty.
There are any number of vapes in the $150 price range I could buy and replace a couple of times and still not pay as much as one Volcano would cost. And you have to buy bags as well. Not to mention the cost of a 2nd valve or multiple Easy Valves/bags if you want to have more than one bag handy.
Toyota? The 'cano's more like a Mercedes. My herbalAire, at less than half the price of the 'cano, is more like a Toyota. And it's going strong after 3 yrs. of use.
The Volcano's a great vape, but the idea that cheaper vapes aren't reliable and don't hold up just isn't true, for the most part. You can't expect a 'made in China', no warranty clone to last, but good brand names have warranties of 2-5 years. S&B even cut the warranty back to 2 yrs. on the Digit.

Total bullshit. There are other vapes of much newer design, that in some aspects, are WAY ahead of the Volcano.
There just too many people out there that have drank the 'Cano Kool-Aid and have been totally blinded by some of the advances that have been made since the Volcano first came to market.
If ya like sucking on bags, get the Volcano, but before any of you do, make sure you do some research into some of the other great vapes that are on the market and that sell for a WHOLE bunch less and that in some categories, just blow the 'Cano out of the water.

Just buy any vaporizer...don't matter which one. Smoking is old school. Remember in the Civil War when people were operated on without the tools being cleaned? We learned the harm and changed procedures over time. Same here...now we know there can be some harm from smoking and we developed technology to fix it...VAPORIZERS! lol It makes sense to vape over smoke except for nostalgia...better efficiency, better for your health, taste, etc. The health factor alone is enough to convince me.:hippy:

The VaporBros is a quality vape and universally gets rave reviews. You're comments above are totally without merit, unless of course, you are referring to many of the cheap Chinese VaporBros knock offs that are being sold on ebay.
What in the hell is an Herbalizer? I googled it and only came up with a company that makes Da Buddha and VaporBros knockoffs.
But being that you said that it does bags and whips, I guess you meant the HerbalAire, which is a fine vape, but it's a jack of all trades and a master at none. The 'Cano does bags better and the Buddha does whips better, but if you want the flexability to do both, it's a good choice.

you're correct, it is the HERBALAIRE, sorry about the confusion, I lost the box years ago ;) ... but, I stand 100% behind my negative opinion of the Vapor Bros. vaporizer, and mine is several years old, no Chinee excuse ... they're a JOKE ... :smokin:

VERY flimsy glassware, extremely delicate, was on its 3rd glass, when I tossed it, and bought an HerbalAire ... also, it's temperature depends as much on strength of your 'intake', as the element itself (a Radio Shack replacement soldering pencil element) ... a little too 'basic' for my tastes ... overall, too much like a 'toy' to keep me using it ... buy one, use one, compare them, it's no contest, just my opinion ... regardless, enjoy :D

Not only does the VaporBros come with a very good warranty, but again, as I've said before, there are literally hundreds of positive reviews on this vape. I'm not saying that you have not had a bad experience with yours, but the positive reviews FAR outweigh the very rare negative review as you have stated here. As a matter of fact, I cannot recall reading one negative review expect yours, and yet I have read hundreds of postive reviews.
The fact is, is that ANY vape can issues now and again, and not everyone will like every vape, but with the great reputation that the VaporBros has in the marketplace, it's a pretty safe assumption that most everyone that gets one will enjoy it.
Also, when you say, "it's temperature depends as much on strength of your 'intake', as the element itself", that is true, but it's also true for any non-fan assisted vapes, such as the Da Buddha, the Silver Surfer and the Purple Days, all of which are very highly regarded. While some like fan assisted vapor hits, many don't and would much prefer the manual control that they get from their hits using their own lungs to draw in the vapor rather than getting it force fed with a fan.
One other thing to take into consideration. There are many more moving parts in a vape that has a fan assist, like the HerbalAire, and therefore, more things to break and go wrong. There are no moving parts in the Silver Surfer, the Buddha, the VaporBros or the Purple Days.
Bottom line.........regardless of your personal experience, the Vapor Bros is a very good vape with many, many satisfied users as is the HerbalAire.
-
Bag VS Whip, Volcano VS ????
actually, the Herbalaire does not have a 'fan-assist', rather, it uses a simple aquarium pump, with air tubing ... as anyone with an aquarium knows (or, a bubbler :D), failure is rare, and cheap to remedy ... :smokin:

i have used almost every vaporizer under the sun & would say the vaporfection stealth novus is the whip vaporizer that matches up (and then some) to the volcano. it does in fact look better & delivers a heavy vapor hit, it also uses an all glass heating element which i like. using it with the new glass aqua-vape cooler puts it over the top, yes, better than the cano imo! this is a MUCH newer technology, so dont just trust all the these people who swear by the cano...

I don't really know if we shouldn't "trust" them, but maybe we SHOULD listen to other ideas.
However, maybe you should actually compare two COMPARABLE products. The 'Cano is a bag system, Vaporfection isn't.... You are basically comparing apples and oranges. Plus this "MUCH newer techonology" you speak of (glass aqua-vape cooler) costs $75 to replace.:wtf:
Try comparing the Vaporfection to another whip-based vape like the SSV. Well maybe you shouldn't, because the SSV has a more durable design, heavily padded hemp bag, much better aesthetics, an absurd amount of custom accessories, and a better warranty. However, I feel like I'm forgetting something... OH YEAH, the SSV is HALF the price.
Also, I could literally destroy your Vaporfection if I for some reason decided to bludgeon it with my SSV...

hahahaha! is this not the comparison thread between bag vs. whip?
its half the price because it uses CHEAP materials, aesthetics mean squat next to the quality of the glass element. i have seen the inside of a vaporfection after years of use vs. other whip vapes, they use soder which realeases toxins over time. and here's another fact for you, ceramic is porous, glass is not, in time your ceramic element will begin to deteriorate from high heat, where glass easily withstands. they're the cleanest! period!

Fanboys crack me up, no matter what camp they fall in.
The FACT is, is that the 'Cano, the SSV and the Vaporfection are all great vapes and if any comparisons are to be made, they should be made on which vapes excel in a particular area rather than which vape is better than another.
But fanboys are just incapable of doing this, and that's why they're called...............fanboys.

no, i agree with you. when you consider a good share of vapes barely work, these three will all do the job. i never mentioned smashing a silver surfer, why would i...and btw i hated vaporizers & swore by smoking for years, vaporfection happened to be the one that changed my mind...

Absolutely! Folks, don't over think it. Just get a vaporizer already! Any kind is better than no kind. And if you buy the "wrong" kind, so what? It will pay for itself soon enough, and you will have that much more experience.
To start, you really can't go wrong with the Vapor Genie. It's a great way of moving from smoking to vaporizing because it retains a lot of the elements of smoking. But like I said, ANY vaporizer is better than none, so even if it's one of those dreadful soldering-iron vaporizers, get it.
Once you start vaporizing, you can take your time and pick out a unit that will work well for you. :D
The thing about bags vs. whips, though, is that bags don't seem able to deliver the rush that whips do. This is mainly an issue of concentration. You get just as high with bags; it's just that you don't feel the "getting high" part. Instead, you suddenly realize, dayum, I'm sooooo high!

So...we should just go ahead and buy the Chevy without asking other owners as to it's value or running condition? I'm guessing that quite a few of us here can't afford to blindly purchase something we've never tried, on a gamble that it's the right choice. Were all created equal, of quality materials...this would be a valid approach. But since I value my wife's health (and mine too) and would prefer not to be smoking mercury or lead vapors, or plastics and glues...I appreciate someone pointing-out what to look for and why.
I understand the concept of 'make the best purchase for your health and wallet', but am dismayed by the 'just do it' approach. Seems a tad sophmoric to me.

I did drink the Kool-Aid, and it was GOOD. Oh, and btw, I love to hit any herb out of my "tasteless, oderless, quiet" Reynold's turkey bag. I sincerely wonder if some of you have ever hit a volcano that was properly cleaned and maintained. The vap I get in my initial bag with a new bowl fill is incredibly thick, milky even. I'm not knocking a whip if you want to be chained to one spot, just not for me. I've had my volcano for months now, and I haven't had ONE single second of buyer's remorse. I know this part is redundant, but their customer support is superb. Oh, and it take me all of about 2 minutes max to relocate my whole setup to another part of the room.

So you got a bag vape, a whip vape AND a portable for less money than one Volcano.
Not saying that the 'Cano is not a great vape, but the above scenario does point to other, very viable options.

The Zephyr Ion was 350 at the THC Expose in LA as I recall. I think they normally go for 450 or so online.
You know, I didn't even price the volcano! Something tells me they wouldn't have gone for less then 450. The people at one of the volcano pusher tables did mention the company was suing or trying to put the Zephyr Ion people out of business for technology infringment or some such.
Eh, capitalism. The zephyr seemed like a good vap too.
