Lumigrow ES? Anyone growing with one of these LED lights? Some info...
I have been reading alot of good things about these newer more powerful "full spectrum" 330 watt LED lights that cover the whole PAR range supposingly and have adjustable dimmers for the red and blue...is anyone here growing anything with them? Any info on yield? Coverage?
Is it really equal to a 600 hps as claimed? Seems this company had an older less powerful version and this is the newer upgraded one with more power and more color range...
More info here at LumiGrow
Would definitely be interested in seeing anyone's results with one of these..looks super powerful & I am guessing 5 watt LED's are hella bright...

We use 58 American-made 5-Watt super flux LEDs in a proprietary color mix that features the industries highest-powered true deep red (660 nm) LED.
From what info I have gathered this is the ideal red range for flowering...

I'd say that lamp USES 330 watts.
It's not 330 watts of led power.
More like 260.
5W x 58 = 290. That's the MAX you're gonna get out of it with your leds running @ 100%, which is neither wise nor efficient (IMO).
More likely (and I am guessing here, but an edumacated guess) the leds are running at no more than 90% capacity, which = 261 W.
So ~70w. is running the fans and power supplies, plus 260W to the diodes, = 330 watts.
Tha's about 80%, exactly in line with the Procyon, which burns 125W total and gets 100w. out of the leds themselves.
If you contact the company, find out which government agency is giving tax credits to buy their grow-light. This I gotta see. :yeahright:
The light could come pretty close to a 600W HID, though, IF it's designed right. Don't know that atall. Looks nice, anyway....

Aloha, Freeda.;)
From my experience, I agree.
About bleeding time someone did this right, commercially.
I'm impressed with their grasp of the essentials, but bothered by their coyness about the price.
I'd pay $600 US. for it in a new york minute!:D
I requested more info.
Might just call their 800 number tomorrow.
Hey D.H.!
Howzit look to you?
Looks like dey read dat Crunchypants guy's thread to me.:D
Bless their hearts and welcome to it.
Got folks here trying ta bribe me back into harness.
If those pups are affordable, I'll just point folks at them, yah?
Again, V shell C.

Well, parts to build it would cost ~ $500 if ya DIY.
So, ya, I'd pay $600 for it, too, if the hookers around here weren't so damn expensive. ;)
IF it's built right (and it kinda looks like it is, doesn't it?) it's equivalent to 2.6 Procyons, by Hermie's calculations (which are subject to revision at the request of any well-financed lobbyist.) :D
2.6 x $595 = $1,547.00
Betcha that's closer to the actual price than $600 is.
Let me know--give 'em a call.
(And find out about that tax credit.) :lol5:

I have one of the original lumigrow models. It is 250 watts. I grew some great quality stuff with it, just not very much of it. It was slow to flower. I posted the results in other threads.
The new model looks like it is MUCH more effective. Check out posts by "CaliBudz" , he is doing some awesome testing. There was another dude using one that had some sweet looking buds on it. Looks like they fixed the flowering problem.
I paid almost 1600 for my unit. I have been told that there is an upgrade available to bring my unit up to "ES" standard. it looks like they want about 350 for the upgrade. They claim the new unit has twice the light output of the original unit. I am considering it.

Got a short, impersonal, corporate type reply.
They're guessing that the market will bear $1299.
Whew, that was close.
For a minute there, I thought they were gonna ask for $1300!:D
Bloody shame!
After China cheapies dilute their market, and bury them in knockoffs, I'll pick the bones at the their yard-sale, yah?:)
It's a good thing though.
It will show the bud size difference between 625 and 660nm.
We're gettin' there.
Aloha,
Weeze

Yup, just found them on indoor agriculture for a "mere" $1299, for what the UFO's cost and procyons cost it seems reasonable for what it is...few days ago they were a whopping $1699 there...so looks like our beloved procyon has some very bright competition.
The Lumigrow ES has four 5 watt white LED's on each side x 2 sides = approx 40 watts worth of white..wondering what specific range that LED is?
That sounds like more than enough to satisfy the lack of white in other lights without having to add CFL or incandescents, etc...
Weezard does spectral output graph seem to be lacking in anything to you? I noticed how far the RED goes full into the 700 - 710 nm range with a very strong peak at 660 - 675! I'm getting pretty excited actually....I could actually see 2 of these trumping 1000 watts of HID in bloom.

I like the 5 yr warranty too....sounds like a long time
So who wants to buy me one? :D

I would tell them since they are selling the newer better one for much less than you paid ($1299 compared to $1600)..and considering you are an original owner of their first product, to upgrade you for free!
Tell them you will advertise their product and post your results..who knows maybe they'll go for it? At least offer to pay shipping though lol
Just for fun what kind of yields did you get with the first version? What were the specs on that one spectrum wise? Same basic light design?

Hey, Freeda and Facts, good info.

So who wants to buy me one?
$1300 is not a bad price for that light at all.
In fact, parts to build a light like that would cost you considerably more than $500, now that I see some of the construction and components. And, Hermie multiplied wrong. ooooh! Hermy hates dat. Sorry. Meant $780. And I would add some for the aluminum, too. ;)
Apparently the housing is aluminum(?) That ain't cheap, and if it's done right that housing will help dissipate heat. Looked like it had a nice heatsink in it, too. That's where lotsa companies try to save a buck, with junk.) :wtf:
I'll betcha it'd be more like $900 for parts. And nobody wants to buy a second-hand Hermie-light, so you could sorta think of this alternative as an investment, which saves your electric $ while you own it!
So, yeah, man. Have at it. That's a very fair price, if the does what should, and it looks like it would.
Hermie loves to shop with other peeps money. Yay! Shoes! :stoned:

I found some pics on the net of someone flowering a big table under 2 of them, and some monsters in buckets & it looks really damn good to me. Check it, looks yummy...

Just a joke. Seemed funny at the time.:hippy:
Makes no sense, really.
I originally made that graph to sarcastically annoy Weezard-- because peeps were starting to come around and say, "yeah, leds do seem to work, but let's fill in all the light wavelengths that an HPS produces, whether the plant uses 'em or not" (which negates one of leds' main advantage--targeted frequencies...)
Wasn't all that funny then, now that I think about it. :(
Sorry mang,
Hermie

I thought it was key to a secret light formula of the ancients from a cave somewhere deep in Egypt. Damnit. lol :D
Ok, off to smoke a bowl and have some dream time.....
Until the son rises again.... :hippy:
ps - is it just me or do those pics of that LED flowering out plants look more & more like a true HPS replacement? I can hardly believe my eyes lol
I remember the thread on OG...so many years ago about one day growing under LED's. If we only knew.
Ahhh memories.

Looks like the dude doing the test grow with the lumigrow has had some pretty decent results very compact & dense buds but super dank looking. He has'nt posted final yield yet but here are his final bud shots under 330 watts.
