thanks but does anyone know what strains are known to do this?
My grow did that too, the only buds to purple were the ones touched with the 42W floro I had on the side of the pot. It did it to the stems too All the other 1 buds or so that didnt get touched by the floro light were white.
Beautiful plants, looks like a swiss strain I saw years ago, always had dark fuschia pink/purple colored pistils. It's not very common, usually dries out a much darker color. So let us know how they turn out! They look delish. :hippy:
:thumbsup:Yours be mo' purple dan mine.

That was an outdoor sativa grown indoors. Under 2' T-5's. :weedpoke:
(Be sure to try this if you really wanna annoy yourself.) :D
Your plants are beautiful, BTW. But I hope you terminated that caterpillar with extreme prejudice. :gunfighter2:
That was a nice pic. Looks sick!!:D
Absolutely beautiful. Hope it smokes even better than it looks. Congrats.
this purpling is caused by the plants getting exposed to low temps in flowering, or from lack of phosphorous, nice plants tho!
In contradiction to the above post, I would like to add that purple/pink pistils are not necessarily the result of anything temperature related. Calyxs and leaves change color in response to temperature, not pistils. Pistils don't contain chlorophyll or pigment like the green parts of your plant. They only change color when they die back.
If you grew these out of a random batch of bag seeds, they are probably an f1 generation, meaning that there are a lot of combinations of genetics locked in since it's not a backcrossed or stabilized strain.
Purple/pink pistils are a simple genetic combination and don't do anything for you as far as identifying the strain. They could have just as easily been white. You could grow your purple pistil plant and a white pistil plant out of the same nug, and all the traits may be similar with the exception of pistil color.
Neat to look at while growing, but ultimately they will dry and cure to a different color. Enjoy it while you have it, and be sure to let everyone know what it turns into.
Peace
