nice buds buddy. how is the smoke "if you tried it yet"when did you harvest....i was looking into getting this and would like to know how it all went.....
the smoke is smooth, doesnt rip your throat. Sweet/sour smell so far, goona continue to cure for another week.i harvested about 2 weeks ago.Took about a week to dry. All from a small plant, average plant we got gets you 1lb+. Who else has BBP? We x-bred this 1 ourselves last year, ended up with 3 phenotypes
1lb per plant ha sounds interesting...i might just have to look into that strain more.......i need heavy yeilding strains as i only grow outside with a max of 5-10 plants...
hey mm who sells the bbp seeds? or genetics are
NirvanaSeedBank's BigBud(female) x Purple Kush(male)
lately been gettin 1.5'rs :stoned:
the 3oz was from the "Frosty" pheno of the BBP 1.5ft tall/1.5ft diam.
i forget on where i saw them,i am trying to find them now....but i could have of mistook the cross,my bad if i did,.
but one poound a plant is what im looking for...i rather grow 4 plants = 4 lbs rather than 4 plants and 12 ounces ya know...
i concur
Anyone know if its possible to get 4lb per plant.
My local hydro shop says it is.
I only have gotten a little over 1lb
you're getting 1lb a plant with hydro? What strain is it and what how much light are you using? i'd be waaay stoked to get that much! Thanks!
Blaze

I know some folks who get 4 lbs average of bud per plant and some have up to 7 lbs on one plant. It is purple kush that has been cloned for years. The plants are all large clone mothers when put out the last week of may. The holes are 5 feet deep and 5 feet in diameter and filled with Fox Farms products and soil that has been thouroughly ammended. One particular guy can get up to 10 lbs of buds from one plant to the chagrin of others trying to replicate the feat. So 4 lbs of dried buds per plant is attainable but you need a huge root ball thus the large hole and lots of water. Up to 30 gallons a day per plant.
I hear of a kilo per plant in some cases. They use pruning and bending also they use root powder and put the smaller parts of the plant under soil. So it is one plant but starts a nother hole cola with its own food suppy with the roots under ground. They say that they need to not water to much so the roots will grow good if little water then they will grow to find some. They can also graft a plant that is weak and not the same strain to a different plant. This also can make for a giant plant. I saw a program on t.v. msnbs that had pot plants looks like the size a tree but bushier.
Check out my favoret book Marijuana Botany - Robert Connell Clarke You can read some of it without pictures at this site. Marijuana Botany
The folks I am talking about about are not bending or pruning but they do add the vegging and budding ammendments at the appropriate times. They use the crazy bud burst at the end too I think it is like 5-90-1 or something really radical like that. The temps are usually in the high 90's to 110's where photosynthesis is not supposed to be able to take place but probably explains why they can take so much water. When I read that people can get up to 2 pounds that is like when I watch the movie Super High Me. We got higher just while watching that movie than that character did in a whole day. Maybe 2 pounds is the indoor limit.
I doubt you know someone who can get that much off 1 plant, where would he grow it? Somwhere on here there is a plant that fills up an entire small greenhouse and i think he got around 1lb off of it. 10lbs seems highly unlikely, if not impossible.Quote:

I call BullSh** on 10 lbs per plant. If that was true everyone would be growing the same type of plant all over the world. I think your story is more appropriate on a fishing site where exaggeration is a practiced more commonly
160 ounces!! off 1 plant well i'd say that would be very intresting! but yeah that seem abit much for 1 plant... iv never seen a pic of a ganja tree... only xmas tree's like mine 4 years ago i only got about 20 ounces of my xmas tree and it was 7ft... but i guess poeple can dream?? 160 ounces yess please! would beee one hell of a stoners night ayy!
maybe wasn't dry already? gonna be harvesting my SSK Soon!!!Quote:

This is the most I have ever heard of some people think that 160 oz is per plant is so the work that you would need to put into it would be so much that it would be easier just growing more then one plant. Work like making cutings growing them and then grafting them back on the origanal mother plant. This would need to be grown inside, that means you need more then one light becasue it is so big.
Well you need to be really dedicated to get 4 lbs per plant and need to be rabidly dedicated to get 7 lbs or more. First you need to live in the area that is considered to have the clearest air in CA. Then you need the entire summer of clear sunny skies with temps in the triple digits most days. Make holes that are 5 feet deep and 5 feet in diameter and use at least 10 bags of Fox Farms Ocean Forest per hole plus supplements (bat guano, worm castings, calcium, sulphur, coco fibre etc, etc). Start with clones vegging in September (you would have to start now to get close next fall) making each into large clone mothers. Put the plants out the last week of May after adjusting the lights so they don't just jump to budding. Water up to an average of 30 gallons per day and fertilizing daily for vegging during the veg then fertilizing for flowering daily during the flowering stage constantly checking the soil ph and making needed adjustments.
Then yes you can average 4 lbs per plant and one rabid caretaker has gotten 10 lbs of dried trimmed buds from one plant. He believes he will top that this year so I am just waiting.
When the plants first go into the sun in may they look like most of mine do at the end of the season! I can see them when I drive by on the way to a friends place. By the end of summer they look like a forest of huge christmas trees. He has licenses for the plants he grows and they seem to leave him be. So get thee to the hills and did just one just one 5 foot by 5 foot hole and you will be stunned at how large that really is. I dug a 3 by 3 hole and that took 3 guys a whole day.
Next year I will have enough water give this a try water wise. I will still be limited to about 3 by 3 holes for now since I am 58 and it takes me a long time to just dig a hole that deep. But eventually I hope to attain the use of a backhoe and can have the 5 by 5's. It will cost more that $100 for the soil and supplements for such a hole and maybe as much as $200 per hole or possibly more.
wow very nice! keep a log of this when you do itt!!! will be very very good. (interesting!!) im sure you know some poeple too give you a hand! with the hole you need.Quote:

I will keep the forum updated as to methods and success or failure. This is actually just my second year growing and it has been another miserable year water wise. This was the third drought year in a row. I am actually taking funds from my retirement to develop the spring but then the water wars should end. Between my inexperience and sometimes good and sometimes bad advice it has been a real struggle. I believe I have enough experience now to get the water to go where it needs to go in the quantities needed. Farming is an extremely difficult thing.
But there are definitely folks getting 5 and even 10 lbs of dried buds per plant and by the way it is purple kush.
This years tallys are in and I did very poor on a per plant average. My best three plants this year were white widow, purple derkle and bliss. The white widow was a total surprise to me. In Amsterdam the coffee houses almost all sell white widow at the lowest price range. When I have tried white widow in the past which other folks grew I was very dissapointed. It was neither very tasty or stony so I sort of wrote it off. But a friend had a nice white widow clone mother he was willing to give me so I grew it. It and the bliss are the most incredibly stony weed this year. Better than my purple kush, afghan goo, massachusettes and monster plants. I got about a pound each from the white widow, bliss, afghan goo and purple derkle. However some of the derkle (sour diesel x purple erkle) molded and the moldy part is a total loss. So really I had just 3 respectable plants. It took several afghan goo plants to get barely a pound. I am hoping to have all two pound or more plants next harvest. Considering water will not be an issue this year this should be relativley easy to do.
Anyone out there getting great results. How did folks do this year. It was a good year for weather with not too much wind and the rain arrived fairly late so I suspect lots of folks did well this year.
Farming is always hard work but it is always a bit easier when it is a labor of love.:bong:
