Spraying Freshly Taken Clones with Floramite or Other Mite Repellents?

Have a Sour Diesel mom out in the garage in a Hydro Hut.. just can't seem to keep the mites off her. I started in with spraying her with SoyaNara almost daily, seems to be helping for sure but they just seem to always come back.

In about two weeks I'll be taking cuts from her for my next cycle. I'm curious do you guys spray freshly taken with Floramite or similar mite repellents.

I had one batch of clones get eaten alive by mites and they were unable to be used, but admittedly, I hadn't been giving the Mom the attention she needs.

Just looking for ways to make sure that doesn't happen again. Here's another idea... take the cuts, and put the Humidity Dome in the Hydro Hut in garage with the mom... and bomb, first with Pyrethrium, and a few days later with the Attain... having left the lid of the Humidity Dome off so it kills all the mites on the new babies as well.

Have you guys tried any of these methods? Perhaps even just bombing the Hydro Hut a few days prior to taking the cuts would get the job done - I just find it nearly impossible to keep these fuckers off my mom for any extended period.

Should be added I don't use Neem oil, apparently that shit works really well... should I give that a shot? Maybe alternate between the SoyaNara and the Neem?

Hi ive just got the mite problem and im gonna use 'ORGANIC NEEM OIL' which can be used right up til 4th week of flower at least.

But if you are in the states get some 'NO PEST STRIPS' just hang in ya garage and it will kill EVERY insect,spider and mite in there (wish we could get them in the uk.
(I personally think you would be better with the strips than neem oil, until your clones are a few weeks old).

well there re a lot of options for you before you go to all out chemical warefare,but to answere your question if yousing either avid or floramite you should wait until the cuttings have roots,at least 2 weeks old.you can spray them but you dont want to get any over misting in the water.the best way 2 do it is to take your cuttings,plant them in your media then after the roots show get a plastic container and fill it with water,dump your chemicals into the water.then dip your plants into it,really coating them.put a lid on the chemical and water mixture and save it.repeat this process in 2 weeks. thats it.u should never have to use those chemicals again....word of warning when yousing avid or flora mite i reallly suggest that you use a resperator that has cartriges made for hazardous conditions.the cartriges should have these abbreveations on them CL/HC/SD/CD/HF/OV. and be niosh approved.i would also suggest clothes you can throw away and some rubber gloves.

i make a strong neem azadiractin mix and dip the whole plant as soon as it gets roots. no more mites.

but i also hang no pest strip a week b4 clones and the first week in the flower room. its just flea collar man.

So spraying non rooted clones with Floramite would be bad? I'm not saying you are wrong, but can you explain to me what harm it would do to the clones not yet rooted?

I'm more so concerned about the two weeks period in which they are trying to grow roots... I once had an infestation so bad in my new babies that I had to toss them... they turned yellow and just wern't happy. My mom isn't quite as bad as it was then... but even still I'm a bit worried about it.

I'll go grab some No Pest Strips and hang a few with the mom and just continue to spray.. not much else I can do really.

use a pyrythium bomb,a couple of days before you take clones.much more effective than the strips.if i was u i would get the small doktor doom foggers bomb them twice then hang your strips,you shouldnt need them at that point but it will help if there is another generation hatching.you want to wait for the cuttings to be rooted because they have enough stress as it is.ive seen it done plenty of times with out waiting for roots with no damages but do you really wanna risk killing all your brand new cuttings?

spray b4 then wash em then cutem, as long as you mist the moisture will keep them at bay, then dip em

so you're saying spray them witn the Neem Oil or preferred repellent while they are still on the mom, then wash off... and take your clones... wait for them to root and then dip them?

so the moister the humidity dome is kept the more the mites are kept at bay while rooting?

Floramite is systemic about 30 days ...spray your Mom plant and wait about a week then take your starts/cuts....this way you can take healthy starts that wont yellow and be covered in webs:thumbsup:

The floramite will stay in your starts during the rooting process....by the time you have roots the pesticide will be out of the babies.

I have Sour D too and the starts like to root slowly:wtf:

I have sprayed starts with Avid with good results.... I'm sure you could spray starts with floramite

Hmm, I just haven't found the FloraMite to work for 30 days but it does work well. I will let my moms grow bigger (I just replaced them because the other one was infected) I have three going as of now... and hopefully I can pull 50-60 cuts off them like 2.5-3 weeks from now.

I just rooted some Diesel for a friend and most took about 2.5 weeks to root. Are yours taking longer Vaped? So you think sprayin the non rooted cuts with Floramite wouldn't be an issue if I notice them pop back up?
