J/K man.. I used to drink that stuff by the gallon, unfortunately it was accompanied by a gallon of absolut most of the time :D
Since those days, I have learned to enjoy greener pastures.
DTR, I'm buckled in and ready. I got some beans a year or so back, I was told they were MK, but I don't think they were. I'm excited to see someone show me what it shoulda looked like:thumbsup:
Everyone loves a good LA Woman!!
DTR, I'm glad I showed up for this one - consider me subscribed!
I've come across a bunch of people who do not like DNA at all, but I'm growing out some Sour Cream, and it looks like it's going to be outstanding. I have a feeling with a name like LA Woman, you're going to have your hands full - hopefully she won't be high maintenance!
I don't know much about MK Ultra, but in your hands I'm sure it's good as gold.
Best of luck to you, my friend!
i know, i know. i'm trying to quit. energy drinks/soda is my vice.Quote:

Hope everything's Okey Dokey Brother K 12345!!!
Stay Cool!!!

Peeps have made remarks about the DNA crew but it seems their product is damn fine. THSeeds always interests me, I'd love to try some of their gear.
They look great, Dave. It's funny how some peeps like to have plants in very roomy containers and others keep them tight (Soma grows out trees in 1 gallons usually). My bro put his into 5 gallons a little too early, and when things got a little chilly (68-70º) they didn't drink up their water quick enough and he ran into severe stunting period probably caused by a root disease. Fortunetly, they came back and did pretty good, but had a low yield. I know your way on top of this a lot more than he was (his first real HID indoor grow). But just a few thoughts for the readers out there. Careful when you water after transplanting into larger pots.
Thanks a mil Shove!!!Quote:

Glad to hear your bro's grow came back, and your transplant advice is excellent...I would tell newer growers to make sure their transplant mix is evenly mixed and watered but not to wet...I also cannot recommend the multi tier transplant (BOG) method enough...It gives the plant more (RTG),room to grow and gives more oxygen to the roots...Both of these factors will improve yield...
A PLEASURE to hear from ya Shove...Laterz man!!!
L.A Woman(fem) + MK Ultra(fem) 39 days veg
thay look nice and healthy man. can you explain the multi tier transplant(bog)???? i have never seen this done before.
keep up the good work:thumbsup:
Glad you asked fourkicks...Quote:

One of the most frequent questions people ask me about this is,"Doesn't it harm the plant to have the roots exposed"???
My answer is no way...The amount of roots that are exposed is very small compared to the ones that are covered...I usually put the rootball down a little more than half way,but even if I just put em in a couple of inches,I'd have a carpet of roots from the top of the pot to the bottom by the time I finished flowering...I've seen trees growing in the country that have roots bursting through the grass and trees growing in the five boroughs with roots that bust through sidewalks, lol!!!
If you look at the pics at the beginning of this grow, you'll see I started em in small plastic cups...(MAKE SURE YOUR CUPS ARE RED!!!)Sorry man, that's an old HG420 joke,lol...Any color will do...When they get root locked,I transplant into 1 1/2 quart pots...After that they go into the 2 gallon pots you presently see...It's so cool watchin' a plant that was starting to get bunched up just all of a sudden take off!!!I'm talkin' "Born Free" and "Little Shop Of Horrors",lol!!!
These are pics of rootballs in 5 gallon pots from previous grows as the L.A Woman and the MK Ultra are still veggin' in the 2 gallon pots...
Hope this helps a little and thanks so much for lookin' in fourkicks!!!

Hey DTR.
Great thread and looks like you are doing well. Sorry you got laid off....but hopefully you did get that lay when you were away for a few days.
I was reading that you were switching the plants to the 600 watt for the warm feel just before flowering. I am growing a hybrid of the MK Ultra now and took the advice to use a 400 watt after cloneing. I was dissapointed and switched back to the 600 watt bulb with a Lumitek immediately when into the vegitative. I noticed a great difference.
I don't have as much experience as you but I thought it would be of interest if I could be the test subject. It did not hurt my fully rooted clones and gave me very robust 12 to 15 inch plants in 14 to 16 days. I flower them from there as I must, due to limitations of height.
Hope you are well and thank you again for the great pictures and information.
OV
thanks for the info man.it makes sense and i might just give it a go next time. your plants are looking ... do you water the top layer of roots or just the lower part??
cant wait to see them flowering
Thanks OV!!!,and don't worry about the job thing...I've been a union journeyman in the constuction trade for 21 years and not once did I not make my hours...Layoffs are part of the biz man...If I was worried I wouldn't be shootin' upstate, lol!!!Quote:

I start off with a 200WATT CFL for new plants...I then use a 400WATT EYE Hortilux Metal ACE Conversion bulb for most of the veg...Next is a 600WATT SunMaster MH Conversion bulb that might outlast me as I use it only a week out of every grow, lol!!!This is just to help ease the transition into flowering that will come within a week when they're flipped to 12/12 with a 600WATT EYE Hortilux Super HPS bulb...
Wishin' you a trouble free grow and an abundant harvest OV!!!
PS...If height is a factor I can't recommend SweetSeeds JACK47 enough...Short uniform plants that kick ass!!!I have a journal here somewhere...
I water from the top until I get runoff most of the time...If I'm going to be away a short while as I'm about to be,I'd rather my "plant-sitter" feed em from the bottom,as there's less room for mistakes...Quote:

DT, i just transplanted some plants today and used the BOG method. i'm interested to see what happens. i was gonna do it to the ladies that are in flower, but i don't have the headroom at the moment.

I'll be transplanting to 5 gallon pots today(10/3),after I buy more water...I'm also gonna switch the 400WATT system to a 600WATT...They'll veg 3 to 5 more days under a 600WATT MH Conversion bulb which will give this grow a total of 52-54 days veg...They'll be flowered with a 600WATT HPS and T-5 side sup lighting...

im gonna try this bog method on my next grow. you should have some nice big fat buds by the time santa comes
Sweet! Came upon your grow in time for the main event.
Just scanned your other logs...You get some kick-ass results.
I didn't get all the specs on the space, looks about maybe 4 foot square? How much side lighting are you using, are those 4-bulb fixtures?
Gotta comment on the transplant method, never seen that before, looking at your plants tells me it's a good method, though. I'll definitely be adopting that!
I'm in for this thread! Got some LA Woman on the way from Attitude. It'll be cool to get a look at what she does for you.
yeh, I see in the photos the BOG transplant. Looks very good. and the plants themselves are nice.
Thanks fourkicks and I definatly recommend this transplant...Quote:

OK everybody...The show will go on...Gave ya the bad news first...The good news is I got called back to work(without goin' on the list),and start tomorrow...Workin' 3:00PM to 11:00PM and I'm once again the steward...
L.A Woman 1st week flowered...
sorry for the loss...i cant believe it hermied so fast! luckily it did it earlier then later...i would lst that remaining plant to death to fill that canopy now! good luck dt!
I got 3 hermies out of 5 femmed on the widow i just did from greenhouse. Back to mother nature's way for me, I trust not in the femmed phenomenon anymore.
Just curious, but did you ever consider using reverse or anything once you saw that it was hermie? I would have, but mine didn't hermie till like week 7 which was strange. At least that's when I saw nanners. Didn't end up with many beans in the harvest tho. Maybe 25 or so.
Best of luck to the LA Woman!! :greenthumb:
i cant wait 2 see these finish up,i got a free beeeee on one la woman and i would like 2 now what to expext:D shit for being a free seed she is doing a lot better than my original order.everything looks great man:thumbsup:
To tell you the truth killa,I don't know if it was a hermie or just an all and out male...I saw tiny puffs of leaf at the nodes with something even smaller next to it that when looked through a magnify glass, looked like it could become a nanner if left to grow...Didn't look right man...Quote:

I hear ya irydyum...I've only grown (fem) beans since I started growin',(about 5 years now)...Many reasons for this, the main ones bein' time, room, and the amount of plants I wanna have goin' at a time...Never had a problem before this and have been not only pleased but amazed as well at the quality and quantity I've grown...Quote:

Made me feel a little better, lol!!!As I've said,I have no ill will towards THSeeds as this is the chance a (fem) grower takes when growing with this shortcut...I wouldn't have went with the reverse...My first instinct was to get it the fuck outta there, lol!!!
Thanks for the KIND words and hopefully the L.A Woman will still be a decent show...

Well, here's hoping for a plump and juicy L.A. Woman! :D
Like the Randy Newman song says, "I LOVE L.A.!!"
Very widespread in the Femenized seed lines. I think it really depends on the methods the breeders use to create the fem seeds. Some force hermies via stress, some use some silver solution as a foliar to force male flowers, and I'm sure there are other methods.Quote:

Thanks for the info, haven't really done any research into the Fem stuff, I thought they were pretty stable, consistent. I thought wrong. :oQuote:

Hey DT. NICe looking L.A, Mine is still a wee little one, but I just got my new light and they all should be on their way.
I was wondering tho, Why did you not plant the whole root ball all the way in the dirt, isnt letting the roots out at the air, letting them get sunlight, i dunno, bad haha. Lemme know b.c im curious, never seen anyone do that. Sorry as well to hear about ur hermie. My first grow, only one female and she hermied on me wayyyyy late, maybe 1-2 weeks left of flower, small small ass beans, in no way made the bud any worse, just a few little pops here and there when smokin, but I wasnt able to find nanners anywhere. U shoulda kept her, let the nanners fill out and saved some, then gotten a nice fem strain and pollinated her with the L>A woman to make some sweeet sexy fem seeds for the next go around.
