NEED HELP! leaves edges are pointed up
the plant is 13 days old. I have the normal bottom leaves as one on each side. then another set of tri leaves and one more set of tri leaves. they are perfect green and horizontal. the fingers on every side edge are sharp pointed up a little maybe 30 degree angle from horizontal with the leaf. is it normal to have this on the side of the leaves or should they be horizontal with the leaf to?

They should be relaxed and sticking straight out, not up. If they are up it's trying to tell you something, likely that it is having trouble transpiring (processing water out of the leaves).
Could be high temp possibly, or maybe low humidity?
What are the specs? Temp/Hum, light type?

its in the basement and the temp is 70 degrees and humid is 45-50%. It is under 4 fluorescent tubes 4 footers of t12's 3 6500 temp and 3000 lumens. one is 3000 temp and 1900 lumens. it has foil about 6 inchs away from the pot. it is so pretty but the edges are fine but up. I must fix it soon or I might have a problem.

Shake, i think this one is more up your alley. Sorry brotha, I don't have much first hand experience with fluoros so I'm gonna step back and watch here. I don't want to lead you down the wrong path.

c'mon now irydyum, don't be so modest. you have much more knowledge (and experience) than me. i'll try to help best i can though.
thanks for the nice words.

I am just not sure how plants react under fluoros. I just recently started using them in veg since temps were off the friggin map and I had to shut off one of my HID's.
Maz-
Can you snap a picture of the issue? Maybe it isn't an issue at all. And if you have a min, look in shakes sig and fill out a troubleshooting form so we don't have to ask you a thousand questions.

irydyum, i just realized that he's using the t-12's. he's got another thread asking about them. everyone keeps telling him that they will work fine for veg, but that he should upgrade somehow/someway/with something else for flowering.
maz, get those pics up....the form too!

Hot, stagnant air and/or overfertilizing could be the cause. Even though ambient temps are around 70 doesn't mean it's only 70ish at the bulb. Is there a fan on 'em all the time?
When my temps rise, so do the leaves.
Usually doesn't affect the serrations though, which leads me to believe possible (minor) overnute also.
Keep in mind that these are just guesses, as I don't know your other parameters and haven't seen 'em.

Yeah, sorry about that im back. The plant is 14 days old and its 6 inch's away from the lights. Its my first grow and I understand my yield and quality wont be that good with t12's. I don't have money right now and its been weeks since I smoked. Trying to grow to save some money. I know if I spend now it will be worth it in the longrun. so up edges on leaves has to do with heat and low humidity? its at 70 temp and 40-50% i thought that was good. My camera is charging and will have pics up in a little bit.

yes I have foil around the side and the fan blows in between the foil on to the lights. thanks for helping me out I will have pics soon.

Your foil reflecting may be causing some kind of "hot spot" that is affecting the plants. Most of us use white paint, white plastic, or some other flat white material to do the reflecting. I would probably take the foil down, I can't imagine that it's helping that much using your fluoros anyways. Could be something that simple.

the last pic looks fine to me. im just a noob

They are all fine. I think you mislead us a little as to what was going on when you said the ends were facing up. It's normal for the leaf to have a slight v from the center toward the edge. It's actually a healthy sign. If you see pics of outdoor plants at midday, they are all often pointing up toward the sun.
It looks healthy and happy to me. Disregard all the crap we said prior to the pics, or store it in your brain housing group for later, but it doesn't seem to apply here.

ok cool yeah I thought it was ok just trying to caught something before its a major problem. thank you for your post and heres some rep for you. Im still going to take the foil down its a pain and im going to get some drywall and paint it white, thanks again.
