Have I missed the window for the '09 Outdoor Season?
First off I had a plant that was 6wks into veg. and it was found! Now I have 4 seedlings that sprouted a few days ago that I'm relying on. I have more seeds I'm thinking about germinating. My question is with just Aug Sep & Oct thats only really 3 months which is just barely enough to make it. I dont want huge plants anyhow.. I want to used SOG method. I def. need to make it this season! I know why it got found and I dont want to go into all that.. I was being careless. I just didn't want to leave the plant to fend for itself yet.. so I kept tending to it. I'm going to tighten up this time. Long story short I just want to see if I have enough time to still make it!

Autumnal equinox, when nature goes into 12/12, is September 22nd this year.
You have just under two months to veg. Should be fine.

Ha, I did the exact same thing I'm in my fourth day since the shoots came up and was somewhat worried myself. This is a relief! I'm going with a really basic plastic cup grow, but I might move it up depending on how things go.

I did my research and the first frost hits at the very end of October. I'm keeping them in a plastic cup until they show sex then I'm putting them in a 1 gallon pot and letting them go from there. I just have to make sure that I make their veg. stage is very productive.

I think you should transplant your plants into bigger pots. If they don't have enough room for the roots to grow, they could get root block :/

do you really think they'll grow that big given that the season is almost over?? Ill take your word 4 it tho.

put them in small pots at first until there almost route bound ( not fully obviously cause they will die slowly)
but if you Grow in small pot at first when you move to a new pot after the veg stage the roots will go mad with the new space available and shoot out quicker then normal repoting.
So yeah start small little pot like your cup thing ( make sure plastic cup is black or really dark so roots dont get the light from white cups.and leave plant in there as long as you can. Repot 1 week before 12/12 starts then your plant should bloom quicker and more efficient . just a tip :)

thanks bro!!! I'm going to do that.

I'd definetly LST them to max your yield. Topping would take too long to recover from IMO. Remember they will stretch in flower for 3-4 weeks so they should be pretty decent sized. Good luck, too bad you got found.

I didnt know you LST to max yield. I only knew about using it to change the appearance of the plant.

LST will massively increase your yeild, but yeah, definitely handy for keeping your plants out of sight.

I started the season like that. I went from cup to bigger pot. Some went from cup to wild, but thats different thing. I re potted when they were just about root bound. I see them everyday, so when i saw them slowing down, I re potted. They left the cups on june 1st, but after each pot they left, the roots were touching the pot. The growth just sorta begins to slow dramatically.
I let the plant get dry and re pot in new soil. After the re pot they freakin take off fast. The new growth was incredable. In about 2-3 weeks i would re pot again. Same thing man. The growth explodes. One plant is behind the other but the finshed pot was transplanted 4 times counting the cup. Its now in a 5 gallon bucket to finsh. I put some gravel in the bottem for drainage, then a mix and then all soil. The other one is waiting to go into its last pot. Im using just a bigger pot for the last one.
But i think ya got time. Ask a pro, but id top it at 3rd node for faster side branches, which would get ya a few more small buds.
Good luck man:rasta:

the last plant I had that got found was exactly the same. I had it in a cup and I saw it everyday, so when I I saw it slow down I checked the roots and the were very root bound. Also, the plant had been topped (by a bug or animal) a few day's earlier and the growth had completely stopped. Once I transplanted growth just started shooting out from everywhere and it started to bush out and show pre flowers real fast. The side shoots were perfect for clones! That plant was very vigorous though.
I'll probably top just a few of my strongest plants to see what they do seeing as my time is running short. I definitely have enough time especially if there are warmer days in November. Hopefully they'll veg. throughout Aug. and they'll be mature enough to flower through Sep./Oct.

If outdoor plants in really sunny weather are showing small pre-flowers but are only about 1 1/2 feet tall, does this mean that I am going short season? Can I put em back into veg at all? I am not sure what to do, and any help would be great.
Thanks a lot,
rider

you could put them in veg. if you took them indoors but you'd risk "hermie'ng" your plant. If it's small and showing pre flowers just give it those final veg. nutrients to give it a boost before it goes into flowering.
