help plz?
Hey guys its total, i'd like to ask you guys a few questions concerning harvest
For most plants? what is the week of harvest? some i heard first week of september, some is 2nd week of october? any help on this one? gunna grow mattakasqueaks' manitoba poison and some other seed strain(thx a lot matt, its giving me a great opportunity, i looked it up and seems pretty good outdoor strain) ( either/and ak47, blueberry...good outdoor strains of the like) overall my calculations are to germinate first of june, sprout the plants for 2 weeks so they be ready for the forest, plant em at mid june. it will grow mid-june,july,august, flower from sept-october 2nd week harvest... is that a pretty good direction that im taking on this? give me some feedback on this one guys
my cousin... oh well hes not really my cousin guys hes my good buddie and i consider him as family so thats that, anyway he's worrying about when we go to harvest the plants, he wants to know if the drying/curing process is going to smell, because we are going to dry the colas and the branches in our own rooms, so i dont know if it's supposed to smell after the harvest? if so, any ways of eliminating the smell without too much work...
another question regarding transplanting the plants. Me and my partner are going to transport the little 4" plants from his house to the forest, any smart way of placing the plant pots in a school bad or a normal plastic bag in a way that the little plant will be safe for the bumpy way on foot?
thanks a lot guys plz give me feed back ASAP!!!
cheers

help plz?
hey total, last year i made my first harvest on sept. 30, my 2nd on oct. 15, and my last on oct. 30th. so you just must judge by your plants. oh ya that was around lattatude 35....more or less.
yes, the curing and drying will smell, but some plants will smell more than others.
no tricks i know of, just arrange them carefully, and walk slow.

dylan what country you live in? hmm latitude 35.. thats kind off lets see.. uhm i dunno i dont have an idea lol, but do you think my schedule from june 1rst germinate let grow 2 weeks till mid-june and plant mid june outdoor then till sept ( so thats mid-june,july,august, 2.5 months... isnt it supposed to be 2 months only?) then either 6-9 weeks of flowering i have to check so that should be done end of october? hm...when does the sun go 12/12 here... i think its from 1rst of september ill have to check from z's farmer site...
ashtray yeah i know i have to get a magnifying glass to check the trichomes out once its near harvesting time
i hope there wont be a lot of fucking bugs near where i plant the weed, i hate bugs they irritate le a lot lol, hopefully the dense bush i'll pick will have none, but there probably will be some because its near a small river stream, how do i make it not look suspicious to go in a forest on a bike with like bug-proof gear on you like a net on your head and shit lol... maybe bring it in a bag and change yourself there i guess.. i better find a good place in a week because i need to dig the holes where i will put my plants and chop and saw down any bush thats still there from last year thx again
cheers

To many factors to tell you when to harvest. Get a cheap microscope. You might want to start the seed a few weeks earlier before you transport them to the outdoor grow. The amount of odor depends on the strain and the environment they are cured in.

hey total, i live in the usa.....tennesse to be exact. lower parts of canada are 45-50 latatude, so your growing season may be a bit shorter.
i believe the longer they veg the larger the yield, and my plants usually start to flower at the end of july or aug. sometimes they will start when their's still 13hrs of light a day.

help plz?
does cannabis have growing season??

help plz?
yes lurker... june-october is principaly where you ahve to aim for your growth, you cant grow in winter ( safe for indoors) and all depends on your lighting hours with the sun... aight dylan.. ima try to find out when the flowering starts, how much veg period would u suggest for 3-4 foot plants? i dont want them any bigger then that dude, 2 months? 1.5 month? 2.5? thx for ur info guys i appreaciate it

help plz?
although i dont know when exacly to start growing, anyone has a idea what time it takes to grow to 3 foot?
-
help plz?
uhmm.. even i grow it indoors?? still have seasons?
-
help plz?
the strongest advantage of going indoors is that you CONTROL every aspect, thus, you manage the season....indoors start to finish lasts 3-4 months for a desent amount of bud!

No lurker, if you grow indoors, seasons don't apply, its how you judge your plant. If you let the plant grow 3 months or 6 months, it doesn't matter ( providing you have the fertiliser, time, and patience to go for that long..) your "season switch" is when you decide to put your plants into the flowering period ( otherwise known as 12/12) so indoors, you control everything that goes on with the plant...
I have a major question to ask for outdoor growers, when you have a plant outside and it is in flowering period and buds are starting to appear and keep growing, what are the risks of rain? can it cause mold? is it ok to just leave your plant like that? or should you cover it with some kind of plastic? my partner suggests glad cellophane plastic wrapper on the plant, i do not know if it is wise, can anyone light up my situation? Thanks again

hey total, the size really depends on alot of factors; ie: strain, soil, pots vs ground, ferts, and topping/lst. last yeay i had a few plants i started in april and topped alot and they grew to be 7' tall. i also had a few that started in pots around the same time that grew 4' tall.

help plz?
well i've decided! here's my plan of action, ive discussed it with my partner for a long time ( ill start around the beggining of may)
going to go with this : germinate 4 DPS Original blueberry, 4 DPS 1#Skunk, 4 Manitoba poison
i will put each 4 seeds of each strain seperatly in individual pots with a 25 watt cfl hanging over 4 pots ( thats 3 cfls with 4 plants for each cfl) for about 4-5 weeks to let them grow on 16/8 lighting.
then im planning to transplant them into pre-dug holes in a forest where i will have cleared a lot of bush and new organic fertiliser will be already ready for the transplant. ( the kind of soil you buy from soil supermarkets with organic nutriments) ill check the natural soil for consistency, ill pick a good spot on a plane so the sun passes there with no problem... Ill have 2 different spots with 6 plants each ( each individually strain- identified so i keep track of their progress, and of course harvest time)
So tell me guys, if i end up planting 12 healthy plants, and substract 2-3 that will probably die, that will leave me with 8 plants at the lowest ( ill take care of them all anyway so i dont have to worry that much about them dying out)... Providing luck 30-50% of them will be males, so can i count on having at least 4 females out of 12 plants?(ill buy a magnifying glass to check out their sex progress, just to be xtra sure that no males get through)
If i transplant the plants after last frost the first of june, and let them grow until about mid-august, probably topping them to keep them short and bushy, they should be 3-4 feet right?
at the stage of flowering that should last approx 6-8 weeks depending on each one of the 3 strains, what should be the minimal yield and minimal females present out of 12 plants? ( providing that i take care of the plants regularily and shaking off the moisture each every few days. watering the plants, the basics, you know)
tell me comments on my plan please! Thanks a lot!!
Cheers
