Can anyone offer reassurance?

What are the chances of failing a 10 panel after peeing clean on a home test? I thought I had drank enough water before going in to take the test, but unfortunately my urine was dark. I'm a female, about 40lbs overweight and I smoked daily for few years. The last 2 weeks I smoked was light (maybe a bowl a day) since there was a dry spell around here. I quit May 20th and took the drug test at Quest last Thursday - July 9th. I'm seriously sick to my stomach thinking that I failed. I'm so panicked I can't sleep. I took the home test the week before the actual test and I used my first pee of the morning.

Any reassurance? I'm seriously freaking out. It never occurred to me I'd fail after waiting more than a month, but I'm reading all this stuff online that says I'm definitely going to fail.

Its sounds good. You passed a home test a week prior using your morning void and abstained for amost 1-1/2 months. How long ago was the test? Was it pre employment?

Well, I called and my doc hadn't looked at the results yet so they won't allow me to have a copy. The girl at the front desk had my results in her hand and she was distracted by reading them... which makes me think there was something interesting to look at - Which I take to mean I failed. I hope to know by this afternoon.

the morning void is the most concentrated...if you passed that you will most likely pass the physician's 10-panel test. I wouldn't worry about the secretary's "distraction" (as you said) because after all, it's the doctor's job to give you the test and the doctor's job to go over the results with you, not the receptionist's or secretary.

omg all that panicking for nothing. I found out this afternoon that I passed! I did, however, find out that I'm not immune to hep b and I need an MMR booster along with the TB test. Yay for vaccinations :cool: :blueknife:

So thanks - the THC wore off but the paranoia did not. I did celebrate with a little :jointsmile: when I found out the negative result. first time in almost 2 months and last time for another year or so.

Oh my gosh, I am in the same exact situation as you- Mine is for nursing school too! Except Im too scared to take my drug test yet LOL - i know what you mean about the paranoia! I quit smoking on May 14th, and i was gonna take my drug test on july 10th but i have until August 20th . . so i figured I'd wait. I am so scared! I have passed 2 at home drug tests, but Im just so nervous to fail! Im 5'8, 140 lbs - Im not overweight, but im not stick thin either, and Ive been smoking for years! I really dont know if im gonna even start back up because of all this paranoia, lol. Do u know what levels they tested you at? I keep passing the 50 ng/ml, but im worried the test will be at lower level. LOL sorry to carry on . . but CONGRATS on passing your test and starting nursing school! Hopefully I'll be in the same position soon :)

To formersmoker88, relax. You will be 3 months plus smoke free when you take your ua. If you are already passing at home tests then you will have no problem with a ua 36 days away. Even figuring worst case scenario that today was when you first passed at 50ng/ml and you took the max 10 days half life for thc, by Aug 20 you would be at lower than 6.25 ng/ml. The ua is probably at 50 ng/ml and even if it was at 20 ng/ml you will be lower than that. Don't stress unless you smoke again before the ua. Good Luck.

Haha - I know, i do need to relax! I just wish so much wasn't riding on one stupid drug test - Ugghh! I am moving 350 miles to go to school and i just signed my lease - so that has sparked a little more anxiety. My mind is filled with the what - ifs, u know? But thank you for the reassurance, i needed it :thumbsup:, and what i really really need is :pimp: < -----that! lol

When youre taking a home test to see if your clean (not to see if a dilution technique is doing its job), you ALWAYS use the first void of the day when the concentration of THC metabolites would be at their highest. If you pass with the first void of the day, you'll pass the lab U/A at any time.

Now if youre taking the actual U/A, then yes, urinate as much as you can, and if possible, try to schedule the test for the afternoon.

Id rather know im good hydrated since ill be in the same condition test day than fail a morning piss at home and not know ill be ok hydrated.....but typically I use a very light colored sample for home test and my real test same is clear from massive amounts of water
