took these earlier today, so far lookin okay. had a wicked thunderstorm today but it hasnt damaged them from what i can see. i added a very small dose of fert that i use on my tomato plants and no damage done so far, in fact growth has been looking pretty healthy. Enjoy your smoke peoples!
looks like some of them are already having run ins with bugs!! Most of mine where all about at the same stage as yours before bugs pretty much killed all of them. Are you using any type of pestisicide and if so when do you start using them.
i havent been using any repellent or anything yet, do you have any idea what kinda bugs they are? im gunna take more pics tomorrow, i havent checked on them for a day or two.:jointsmile:Thanks!
hey took some new pics, and i don't really see the bug problem at all. the growth is ok, but i'm going to try to transplant them today. my question is because both of them are right next to each other, how do i separate them without damaging the roots. Or should I just transplant both into one spot and keep the distance as is? Thanks!
last pic of the base, i dont want to move em together and end up having one of each sex.
well i need to move them today and since i got no responses on what to do, i'm just going to keep them together. and if one turns out to be male i'll just take him out before he blows all over the *hopefully* girl. wish me luck, pics will be posted soon.
ok i transplanted them directly into the ground(no pot) in a forest very close to my house. they looked ok when i took em out and put them into a pot to carry them, but i noticed after about 3 mins of being outta the ground they started to wilt. I'm not sure if it was the lack of sun, water, or if i damaged their roots slightly, but when i planted them in the forest they started to liven up a little after I watered them. pics included!:jointsmile:
If 1 ends up being male, just clip the main stem near the bottom. Dont just pull it out. Next time give at least 2 ft of space for each plant. When those babies get big, they'll be all over each other. Trust me, I know. I'm no pro, just trying to help out. Good luck.
Those two together are going to compete for everything they need to survive (light, nurients, water, etc.). They would be much healthier if they were each in their own pots/holes. When they are that small you can seperate them without destroying roots, which is what I would reccomend doing if you want to get the most growth out of them.Quote:

Or do they really drain each others nutes alot before then? To separate would i just carefully take em outta the soil and slowly pull em apart? I stopped by a couple hours after the plant to water and they looked awesome! really adjusting well so far. Thanks for the help!:hippy:
yea I only saw what looked like bug problems in the first couple pics.. they are looking great now. also.. the earlier to seperate them the better.. just make sure you keep the roots intact when you do so and they'll never know the diff.. it'll just take them a few days to conitnue their growth.
Someone to feel free to correct me if I am wrong... I would water them pretty well, Then I would take the dirt ball as a whole out of the container. I would let the dirt break apart and fall off the roots as naturally possible, then I would use water to wash the rest of the dirt away. Then I would replant them and hit them with some more water when you are done. Thats what i have done and have had success with
Yo, just went to check on the kids and water. I couldnt find my camera so I used my dad's slr, its pretty awesome.
So I was talking with some growing buddies and they said that planting more than one in a hole is a good idea. If you are going from seed you are gonna get some males, so why waste the energy and resources digging a separate hole fore each one? I am going to try this next season with mine, could put a few in each hole and hopefully have at least one female per hole
Good Luck
they will compete for root space together...so basically if your male grows stronger than your females it will kill them off and you will end up with the male anyways. In a nutshell you will have wasted more energy figuring out what is what with them all bunched up then having them separated from each other.
dam i havent been on here in a long while... guess i should give an update, its been like a month since i moved em to the forest and it took a couple weeks for them to continue growing. they started flowering about a week or two ago, good news is they're both beautiful ladies, bad news is ones getting fungi and insects all over her, both about 2 ft tall now. gunna move em into pots very soon, i'll post pics when i do...oh btw the stink is heavenly :D nother update comin in a day or two...keep up ya smoke :rastasmoke: peace
