Be's assorted closet grow under 400 HPS

4' X 2' X 7' Panda Film sealed closet.

Multi speed blower for Exhaust. Running 4 degrees above ambient.

400 watt hps light and ballast. With a basic 15'' x 10'' aluminum reflector.

Using MG moisture control and MG perlite at 2/1 ratio.

MG all purpose for veg and MG rose food for flowering. Using it all very sparingly.

Will soon have 6 inch wall mount oscillating fans to replace the large box fan.

Day 31 of 12/12 for the micro clones in the 2 liter bottles.

Day 19 of 12/12 for the large indica gal in the blue mop bucket.

Day 3 of 12/12 for the bonsai'ish indica gal in the black pot.

And the random neglected plant in the back corner.

I'd like to let ya know that I am PH'ing my water at 6.5, also have some Superthrive on board, not being used during flower of course.

The micro clones are from a random bagseed plant I've already cut down.

The indica dom' gals are from a bag of dank, which rarely comes through. Although I did not get to try some of the seed's Mom, nor get to see it. I'm still excited that it's a possible chance for strong genetics.

Befree- I noticed you said you use MG for roses. I found a large container of that in my barn and thought to use it for the flowering phase for my plants.... do you recommend it... does it work?

Yes,

I am using MG Rose Food, only because that's what is local and cheap in large amounts. If you pay attention to the N-P-K amounts( N = nitrogen, P = phosphate, and K = potash. Those numbers tell you whether it is for vegging or flowering, or all purpose.

Vegging you generally want more N than P. And some trace minerals, which superthrive takes care of.
Flowering calls for more P than N and K. And doesn't need the trace minerals near as much.

Use very very sparingly.

Or go to lowes and pick up a little dropper bottle of Schultz all purpose. It has a high 'P' value, but there is still enough 'N' in the ratio for vegging.

Check out filo6942's first grow. Not his scrog, but his 'starting from clones' log.

He shows how he used Schultz and CFL's to grow some nice meds.

Day 33 for the bagseed clones.

Watered plain 6.5 ph'd water on day 32.

This is only the second day under the 400hps. We'll see dramatic improvement over the next few days.

Subscribed! I am also under 400watt hps. Do you have the fan hitting the light to help the heat? Where did you put the ballast? I have my light 10" from my babies and they love it, how far is your light?

:).....not all reflectors are created equal. Some are better than others.

Yeah!! Welcome aboard Filo, good to have ya 'round.

Yessir, I do have the fan at a 45 degree angle, deliberately blowing on the bulb. My 10'' x 14'' passive intake just so happens to be right next to the box fan. been running a high of 79F degrees and a low of 75F degrees with the light on and warmed up. :jointsmile:

I do have the light about 12'' to 14'' from the tops, depending on the size of the plant. Wanting a slight bit of stretch so the buds on the indica gal aren't so close to one another.

Hell, 20'' from a 400 hps is still better than the flouro's I had half ass rigged in there. That nightmare is long gone. Glad I was too embarrassed to snap a photo of the mess I called an 'OP'.

looking very very nice. Im interested to see how much they improve by having this 400watt hps. Im finding it a major pain in the ass right now using 7 cfls to flower and promot simi veg and flower. I may upgrade, who knows.

if you want serious buds...you need serious light...IMO...HID Rules!

Really all I need is a good light. I have the most concealed and amazing grow room, just need a good lamp. All in good time I keep telling myself. All in good time.

with a good lamp, you will see the light...like the sign says...High Intensity Discharge

Well... The blue mop bucket gal and the large gal in the black potter are the same age, from the same bag, but just a little more veg time on the blackpot gal. The mopbucket gal is putting out 3's and 5's. The illusion of the 1 fingers are 3 fingers all stretched out from being switched from T8's to CFL's to 400 hps all in her first 3 weeks of budding. :( The droopiness doesn't getting better or worse when I water. I've done a full 1 gallon fresh 6.5 flush and let her dry up over a week and no changes in 'angle of attack'.

She is due for a watering. I'll update here in the next hour.:jointsmile::jointsmile:

I do the 'nute, Water, Water, nute,' ect schedule.

Im sorry to see this. Did it Hermie? I think it did right haha. Silly question and Im actually still asking it lol. It could have been from when you changed your lights, could be a light leek, lots of stuff make a plant do that. Dont think it needs polin. please correct me if I am incorrect.

It's alright Enhance. =D It's a learning process.

But, a female being stressed out will cause her to put out 'nanners'. Which are pollen sacs formed on a female plant after putting out a significant amount of flowers. Thus causing her to pollinate herself and ultimately have all female seeds. But the hermaphrodism could carry on into the seeds and make them more sensitive to things that cause the nanners to come out and ensure her chance of survival.


After i let the last of the runoff drain from the blackpot gal. I'll upload some fresh pictures of my solo monster under her own 400hps.

I've noticed a little reddening in the lower portion of the stems. Also have some intense shriveling on the ends like I've got too much N... So this watering was a 1 gal 6.6 ph'd flush. See if that helps any. :stoned::D

I also have a picture with a nice set of alternating nodes. I'd like for Shakezoola to notice the intense light penetration and realize his gourmet beans need an indoor Sun of their own. Take care zoola. :D

Somewhere in that post I said 28 days.

But I am letting her stay between the 10-14inch area from the light.

I get a slight amount of light stress (discoloration), anything closer than 10''.

Be, it looks like you've got some pretty strong buds forming there - I'm thinking they like the music flowin' from your speakers, eh - not to mention the 400W HPS! I'm glad to see that everything seems to be going well for you, with the exception of the hermie (but, at least it let you get some early bud). Take some of that hermie pollen and put it on some of your other ladies for some fem seeds, eh? Not a bad silver lining!

mmmmm looks good. Do you know if at 39 days into flower you should have amber hairs along with the white ones. I have 14 days left until 8 weeks of flowering and the buds are looking great but there are orange hairs, is this normal you think?

How come you don't use superthrive during flower?

because Rusty recommends not to.

Something about the flowering cannabis plant not wanting as many micro nutes. But during veg, it seems to help a bunch. :stoned::stoned:
