everyone's best quick-dry methods?
what's good everybody? i was watering the ladies and found a hermie amongst them. i can't believe it. i found a few dead flowers and everything. they were not there the last time i watered (about 4 or so days ago).
so now i have this he/she just standing-by, outside the flower cab. i would like to get everyone's preferred quick-dry method.
yes, i know this isn't recommended, but i'm out of bud and would like to smoke. and if i have to sacrifice a he/she to get high, then so be it!
thanks in advance!

Whenever I want to test some bud?...I put enough for one joint in a microwave, on a plate.
Set mircowave on DEFROST; and the timer on 10-20 seconds. You have to do this several times, until it's dry enough to crumble and roll.
Works for me.....(the first time I did this, I had the microwave set too high/too long; and set the paper plate and resin on fire)....

I cut or pick the buds into smaller pieces and use my oven to dry them. Before I used 100C until I read that 75C /170F melted trichomes... now I use 65-70C and it takes a few hours. Gotta open and close the oven every half hour or so to get rid of the moisture. An oven thermometer would also be good to make sure temps don't get too high. Learned this from Rusty in one of the harvest threads.
When I used 100C, I still got high, and it took less time to dry, but I'm guessing I was losing a lot of potency.

I know the question posed by Headshake was , what is your favorite method to quick dry some bud. I have to admit, quick drying bud by any method is not my favorite thing to do. If I absolutely had to, then the microwave method, described by Dutch Pimp would be my prefered method.
But...I'd like to propose an alternative. Use a vaporizer.
You'll find you can vape fresh picked bud very easily (maybe need a little more heat to begin with) and it will let you know what your product will taste like when it has finished drying. Plus no loss of anything to the oven, toaster or microwave.

oldmac I tried that before it doesnt work too well. i put the flowers in my grinder and it just made it into a mulch like cut grass clippings. Not too good for my vaporizer...
i also prefer the microwave for quick dry.

filo6942,
Try this next time, take a small "popcorn" bud or pull a small piece from a larger nug and place it in the whip whole, with the top of bud towards the screen and twig side to the heat. There is no need to grind, cut or pulverize it. Heat and vape.
I work with a hospice and also a cancer group, "smoking" of any kind is not considered good, so I've been working with vaporizes for about 15 years now.
I was surpised many years ago that fresh green buds could be vaped and surprised more by the taste, it wasn't the usual lousy green chlorphyl taste.

What Temp do you recomend for this?

Hello Stellybutton,
I use an SSV personally, and have a whole bunch of da buddas and some hot boxes for patients, non of which have a temp display or temp settings.
So all I do is set the control knob a little bit higher then I would normally to start out with. After a few (5?) minutes I turn it back to my usually setting.
Sorry if it seems vague, but when I teach a patient to use the vaporizer they get to see what about "normal" is and I encourage them to experiment a little up or down from there. Same holds true for vapeing green bud, just experiment a little.

Thx Oldmac, I'm useing a Volcano set at 393. If I understand your suggesting a little hotter. Makes sence because it's greener. I'll give it a try and let you know what I find. S-

weird, i tried vaping some fresh green bud last harvest and it tasted like shite out of my PD... maybe it doesn't get hot enough..
oh and +1 on the Oven method, i've had good results with that :)
For my personal stash tho, i prefer a longer curing time actually; around a month hanging with air circulating, and then into jars for another 6 months curing. I burp the jars about once a week, and take quality samples every 2 weeks or so. Properly aged bud tastes and works amazing. :D
