Are full of shit.Have any of you actually been christened or baptised or whatever they do at birth or from the choice of your parents?
Or do u all just turn pagan when your older to say that you are pagan.Do u all get 8 seperate days off for pagan holidays depending on weather u are in the norther or southern hemisphere ? Do u do any rituals on those holidays ? Im interested if anyone is actually genuine and been practicing paganism for generations in thier family.
Pagan's are just any non christ worshipping or Yahweh worshipping religion so I'de say yes alot do ;).

Pagan's are Wiccan's AND every other religion on the planet Unless their Islamic Christian or Judaic. So yep alot do get time off ;) and do their "rituals".
Shoot I"d like to join them all and get those days off though he he.
I know of several Native American families that still celebrate the "great spirit" and do those rituals but I'm not one ;). (and yes they take time off school and work for them and don't get fired or in trouble etc.)
I personally just take every day I can off and do my own personal religion , read....;) I worship knowledge in all its forms :) , no official holiday or baptism though, unless you count paper cuts....

U cant just wake up one morning and be of a pagan.Theres just alot i dont understand and its the fastest growing religion in this country.I do believe in alot of the folklore with the ancient celtic pagans but thats all.

Those that wake up one morning and say, "Oh, I'm pagan." are probably wanting attention. That's my guess. I was Catholic at one time, but it took me atleast a year to convert to Paganism. It's crazy as shit, having your whole family telling you what to believe, and trying to make you go back onto their religious path. If you want, I could tell you all the crazy shit that's happened to me, religious wise and what not.
well, dont forget that Haloween is a Pagan festival, and from experience, must of you god-fearing Americans love to celebreate that one!! And Easter eggs, thats pagan too!

All i can say is im a strong believer in God but no way am i religious, I just can fathom how anyone would be a pagan.
Well, I was raised with a very strong environmental ethic (like most religious upbrinings are raised with a strong biblical ethic...). So, I have been an Earth worshiper my whole life (a mere 21 years...). But, I have respected all creeds all my life. My girlfriend is catholic, and I couldn't love her more. To me, I can't fathom how any can believe in something that just seems intangible, like a big mystery in the sky (I haven't had any experience with God or Mary, none of that). The Earth is something that is there, that you ground your feet on, that gives you food, and herb to smoke, you know? I am just not convinced. But, that doesn't mean I disregard it as shit. I respect it as much as I respect my own creed. I get a lot out of meditating with just the sound of the desert wind whisping the scent of ponderosa pine into my thoughts. I just feel so connected, it is undescribeable. Nice question though, hope you learn a lot from us Earth worshipers... Ohh, I guess I would call myself something that is a mix of Buddhism, Paganism, and Pantheism. I am not to much into worshiping dieties, but mainly Mother Earth and the Universe. They are my "God".
I don't get any extra days off. But, I don't have to pay to go worship in the forest. There are some places in the National Forest System lands that you have to pay a user fee. But, those that go out for religious purposes don't have to pay. That is my only break. Aside from that, I follow what the US follows which is a predominantly Christian calendar.
there are other threads where people are saying that they are pagans and i would like to know a few things if any of you want to reply.
Pagan's are just non christian, muslim, or judaic...(all worship yahweh) if you dont worship yahweh your a Pagan...If you dont worship anyone your smart ;)
as I understand it, paganism is just the roman religion with all the multiple gods and the such. the romans also believed in witches, werewolves, goblins, etc.
btw, when some people say it's pagan if you're not christian, muslim, or jewish, are we not forgetting a MAJOR world religoin, buddhism? I'd hardly say buddhists are pagans.
Then you don't know much about pagan's my friend, Buddhists do not even worship anyone they try to attain enlightenment LIKE buddha did. Also they do not worship Yahweh in anyway thus defining for christians "pagans"....So I didnt forget anyone no....lol, Try researching the word "pagan" ;) Believing in multiple gods is "polytheism" and they're (the gods) usually grouped into a "pantheon" , Hope that helps.

woh i wasn't really born into it. i've just been studying different religions for the past 6 years and i call myself "pagan" because by definition i am. i was supposed to be baptized into catholisism when i was a baby, but i wasn't. i'm not just trying to be a little poser or whatever. there's nothing wrong with exploring differnt things. i have many beliefs and ideas that i keep to my self. i don't like religion because it's supposed to give you faith. not make you feel like you HAVE TO go every sunday, or you HAVE TO keep up with prayer. i hate that shit. i don't like to feel ashamed of anything i do, feel or think. catholics are sort of polytheistic if you think about it. they worship saints and yeah they claim to only have one god. what the hell is that? doesn't make sense. and no catholics i've met will admit that. i do respect all religions tho. i mean like the jehova's that knock on my door, yeah i talk to them. i don't say "i don't believe in god, go away" like some people. and i do go to church once in a while to see if i can learn something new. everyone has they're own rituals that they do. EVERYONE. it all came from the old beliefs. when you sing happy birthday and blow out your candles, yeah that's a ritual. you make a wish. but no, when you see someone in a tunic standing in the woods with they're arms up to the moon ppl call them crazy. lol i hate when ppl do that shit. i do want my children to be born and know of all religions and all gods. not just jesus or whatever. theres so much more to spirituality than that. i would like to hear from a christian that has explored other beliefs and is still christian. not that i don't think they would stay the same, it's just rare. anything else jaquelyne? :p ;)Quote:

glad i have my simple answer: karma...yes i believe there is no god and nothing to worship and you can pray/worship til you turn blue in the face and shit yourself and nothing new is going to happen. someone screws me over, do i seek revenge? no. is it becasue i'm sure my god will hand out the right punishment? no. it's becasue i believe you do somethin bad to me, it is going to come back to you 10x worse......
But how does Karma make more sense that God? Karma implies that there is a universal consciousness that is aware of every single little injustice that has taken place, and then deals out whatever punishment it deems worthy. Think about it. Does that make more sense than God?Quote:

to sum up what the def. is above: the action one takes, equal consequences that this one recieves (yes i know it said it comes back 10x worse but that is just from my own experience....i.e. if i do something wrong to someone i find it comes back to me 10x harder....i threaten to send someone to jail by ratting out the fact they do drugs, and i go to jail myself before even accomplishing such an act) imo beliving any one thing to be perferct is simply nothing more than ignorance with a very large perceptions of that one's self..... and answer this..... most holidays that america adopted are christian. christian traditions were started during a time that there were a lot of pagans. the pagans influenced the entire culture so when christianity was introduced to that culture they adopted a lot of pagan traditions...Quote:
