I'm about to make my second batch of the ganja butter and was wondering if my idea of using two oz. of vaped bud will be good per stick. So 2 oz./stick and I wanna make two sticks. What's your peeps thoughts on this? haha

Don't know if this is gonna help ya, but I saw a great recipe for firecrackers using vaped bud and it called for 5g per serving.
That isn't enough butter. You have to remember that you will lose some of the butter during the straining process. I usually wait until I have about 1-2 ounces of vaped buds and combine with 1 1/2 pounds of butter and I usually end up with just about 1 pound of amazing, clean cannabutter. Make sure you read stinkyattic's thread on how to make a "clean" cannabutter because it works great.:hippy:Quote:

For 4oz use 3-3.5 lbs of butter. Yes it works for vaped buds because I've made it and got really high.:hippy:
What if I used only a pound of butter with the 4oz? That'd just make it uber tastier ehhhh? :hippy:
I imagine it would be nice and strong. It depends how much you plan on using. I love cannabutter & jelly toast so I like to have more butter to use daily.:hippy:
Wouldn't it stand to reason that if you are getting more THC out of your vape duff, then you aren't vaping all your weed? My understanding was that the vaporizers big attraction was it's ability to extract almost 100% of THC from herb.Quote:

Just some food for thought, I believe that you make it and that it works well, just curious if you weren't getting all the punch out of the vape, that's all.
You are correct about the loss of THC but there are things I do to preserve it. For starters, I will vape at lower temps so that not all the active compounds are released. Then. as I've mentioned in other threads, if I know I'm going to be making cannabutter, I only vape 2-3 bags which gets me plenty high. I could keep vaping and get the usual 5-7 bags per 0.4g of bud but I conserve when it's cannabutter time. I hope that helps clear things up.:hippy:
Just looking for something like that in the thread. Clears it up perfectly. I just pictured in my mind, a bunch of people, and they all vaped the crap out of their herb. They went to make butter and the butter was worthless, then they all mobbed me for not bringing it up.
PS: I'm not going to research all your other threads before I make a comment in this one.
I understand that you don't have to research my other threads. Sorry to come off as offensive...not my intent.Quote:

Vaporizers certainly are the most efficient way of getting the most from your buds, from getting high once, twice, hash/kif, cannabutter, and these days even portable cord free vaping ...just amazing.:hippy:
Any suggestions on a good ratio for just one stick of butter. I've been using about 3/4 of an ounce of vaped (3 - 4 bags at 400 degrees) and it doesn't seem like its getting me that baked. As far as I can tell I'm making good budder just not strong enough?
Well first of all, 400 is way too high if you plan on making cannabutter. Try to stay below 373F. I'm not sure on how you're making your butter or the quality of your buds, both which will affect the outcome. I hope that helps.:hippy:Quote:

I'll try using more vape I guess since I like to get most of the THC in the first go, thanks for the info.
The density of the vapor has nothing to do with the contents. Once you start reaching the higher temps, you're just getting closer to actual combustion therefore your vapor density tends to increase. It's all personal preference but in regards to the thread topic, you want lower temps. You can vape at much lower temps and see barely any vapor but still get super high, even ask VapedG13 on here. Maybe you have lower quality buds? I have already made butter with fully vaped (5 to 7 bags) buds and it still came out great. All these factors will determine your butters final outcome...vape temps, number of bags/whips vaped, quality of bud, method of making cannabutter & amount of butter used. If you are looking for more THC in the butter then common sense says just use fresh bud OR use the suggestions I have given you to get high and then high again with cannabutter.Quote:

Interesting. I started vaping at 400 because thats what the storz&bickel guide said to use for herb. I assumed the thicker the vapor the more THC...seems logical. I'll try 373 and see if I still get as high (after my upcoming drug test). It's true my buds are not the greatest...just mid-grade.
The S&B manual makes no mention of what temperatures to vaporize marijuana at. There is a thread in the vaporizer lounge dedicated to digital vape temps. Most prefer between 350F-378 it seems. Try to find some nug and you will see exactly what I mean.:hippy:Quote:

Since it worked good at 400 I havn't strayed, but yeah I'll see what happens at lower temps.
Hmm...I'm looking at it again and it says Thyme, which is the only one that has "the herb" used as the plant part and it's 374 so not sure where I got 400 from. Oh well...I just can't wait to be able to vape again (at any temp).
I just made some brownies and used vaped toasties as the foundation. I also cooked them in oil; which is far easier than making butter. I used about twice the amount of normal shake and these things are absolutely nuclear.
I'll be cooking in oil from now on...the whole process took 20 minutes (plus the time to make the brownies).
Whoa whoa whoa wait just a sec... you vape your shit 5-7 bags? what temp? around 200C? Cause I usually only vape it 2 times max with .4g and that's when I think it's all gone... Not true?Quote:

You are but vaped bud is no different, you just have to use more. The title of the thread is Ratio of VAPED bud for ganja butter, hence me trying to help.:hippy:Quote:

And there is no way that you can vape one 0.4g bowl with more than 3 bags tops... I'm using it at that temp you said, but the vapor doesn't smell, taste, or look nearly as appealing as the first two bags.
I vap a chamber (large original heavy black volcano unit) and its burnt after a bag or two at 355 deg . i cant see how the burnt taste is apppealing enough to go for 5-6 bags . Are these bags small? i use reynolds large and turkey bags.
The lil mini party kit where theres 5 bags mouthpieces ---maybe 5 bags of that -possible
