I don't really care about the exact THC percentages in their study. Fact is, bongs get me stoneder than other smoking methods, and I don't waste smoke with them. So I'm going to light up a nice green bong hit right now.

LOL I used that same resource for a school project 2 years ago. It is, in fact, true. However, I like bongs simply for the shock value, if that's the right term. They are cool. The reason why you get higher with a bong is because of the cooled smoke therefore you can inhale more and take bigger hits. If you learn to properly smoke a j it'll work much better for you. Also, those vaporizers were definitely underheated. The CBN's transition to THC happens well below the level of carboxylation of the chemical constituents in weed that creates benzene. Try filling your bong with crushed ice. Eventually, some of it will melt and turn into water because of the hot air rushing in from the bowl, but it'll drip to the bottom, well below the he level of the bottom of the stem.

I hate bongs....thats because Ive only smoked out of like 2 good ones, but normally bongs make me cough my fuckin guts out of my nostrils, and that aint good cause im semi asthmatic lol. So I stick to nice glass bowls :)

If your joints are tight, cone shaped and well rolled you'd be surprised how stoned you would get off it in comparison to other methods.
that's a load o shit, the water's not to take the tar away or anyfin, it's to make the smoke cooler so it doesn't hurt as much wen ur tokin. fact of the matter is that u get stoned any wich way u choose to smoke it. my favouite has to be either the bucket or the ice bong (nice cool smoke) joints are good fer a wee chillout to finish each session. oh and to Nullific, tight joint's aren't the way to go about it. im a smoker an ive bin rollin my own fegs (cigarettes) fer about 10 yrs now and if it's too tight then u don't get a smoke off it.

Turns out HHJ was right a long time ago. He smoked from his bongs waterless because he said it feels like the water is filtering out thc. Needless to say he was bombarded by "THC ISN'T WATER SOLUBLE"

Well you have to consider some things here, first of all the study was sponsered by MAPS and NORML so I find it perfectly credible and secondly it used NIDA supplied marijuana which is less potent than most of the schwagg on the streets which is responsible for the horrible cannabinoid to tar ratio. Had they used potent home grown and cared for buds maybe the outcome would have been different, the cannabinoid:tar ratio would undoubtedly have been different but that alone cannot conclude the outcome would have shifted in favor of a different device.
Bongs due to their design and the way they cool smoke with water allow you to inhale a greater volume of smoke which could give you the illusion that it got you 'higher' when you were really just taking a bigger hit than you would have off any of the other devices. If you like to take big hits like that then by all means smoke out of a bong.
It seems to me the cooling of the smoke would help dissolve the actives into the water, even though thc is only slightly water soluble it is perhaps soluble enough to make a difference.
How well a pipe smokes depends on the pipe, consider that the longer you apply flame to the bowl (same applies for bongs) the hotter the material you are smoking and cannabinoids get and the greater chance of some being destroyed by the excess heat. Some tars and cannabinoids will also stick to the insides of the bowl and chamber of the pipe.
With properly rolled joints theoretically you are not wasting anything because flame is not applied after the first hit and there is nothing for resin for stick to but is rather soaked into the remaining cannabis at the joints end, which is eventually smoked. The problem people seem to have with joints is they feel it is being wasted when it is idle. The obvious solution to this is not to leave it idle, pass it to a friend to hit or put it out when it isnt being smoked. Use paper that burns slower and/or moisten it slightly or apply a thin layer of hunny. The slower the joint burns, the less will be wasted when it is not being hit.
personally i think joints do get me more stoned but im waay to lazy to roll them.
