A Call to Arms in Defense of a Defenseless Environment!

I now realize how important our environment is and how negatively global warming affects it. Therefore, I feel war's should not be tolerated.

You see, during war's, ships are sunk, and when ships are sunk, they release a lot of oil into our poor oceans. Don't even get me started on fossil fuels burned during the launch of a missile. The use of missiles, not only harms our environment, it also pumps more money into evil corporations who are determined to destroy everything sacred to us.

Historically, military conquest could not be attacked on these grounds; men killed men with swords. In essence, they were doing a service to mother earth, their bodies decomposing on our battlefields fertilized the ground and generally, caused no harm. Unfortunately today, we fight in the skies. Do you have any idea how much damage the American government does every time they practice military operations with their jets? Tanks, god I hate tanks: forget the fact they kill innocent school children, they also trample and kill our precious flowers. THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED!

Therefore, I propose we cease and desist all military operation, including, but not limited to, invasion and defense. The the invasion part will likely be an easy sell, however, even if an invading army who wishes to rape our wives and children, enslave ourselves and families, and utterly destroy our way of life declares war in the hopes of conquering our land, we shall hitherto, and for the rest of eternity, surrender before the fist shot is fired. I understand you may not agree, however, it is now clear to me the LIVES of BIRDS, other animals, and our general welfare as a world population (Not our own you selfish bastard) are far more important than our mere survival as a nation.

I also propose we cease and desist all, but not limited to, military operations, chemicals (use and production), corporate policies, government sanctions, goods produced by using, either directly or indirectly fossil fuels, animal byproduct, or plastics, as well as: goods produced from a process that releases any pollutant into our atmosphere, including but not limited to: water vapor (the most abundant greenhouse gas) and carbon dioxide, as well as, anything else that may potentially harm the environment, regardless of whether it is directly required for our survival, prosperity, convenience, transportation, or any other selfish human needs.

Jefferson once said, "We have the wolf by the ears and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go. Justice is in one scale, and self-preservation in the other."

I think it is obvious Jefferson was referring to a justice for our poor environment and clearly would choose such justice over our own self-preservation.

Therefore, I would like all those in favor of environmental issues to email your congressmen... I apologize, that was terribly politically incorrect of me, nay, your "congressperson" and demand that war's (even in our own defense) shall be avoided at all costs. Demand a ban on all I have mentioned, if you don't believe me, at least heed the words of our dearest Adolf Hitler, "All great movements are popular movements. They are the volcanic eruptions of human passions and emotions, stirred into activity by the ruthless Goddess of Distress or by the torch of the spoken word cast into the midst of the people."

Good luck, but human beings are irrational.

The argument is: how can we expect developing nations to forgo industrialization when we ourselves followed the same path?

"Sorry Malaysia, you cannot produce because we have done all the producing mother earth can take at this moment. Better wait another 100 years or so." Something tells me this message would fall on deaf ears....

Do we have any proof that we are causing global warming. The last I heard the scientists believe we are warming because of the increased sun spot activity and that we're coming out of an ice age.

since we are obviously not going to stop killing each other any time soon, i propose we begin this new movement by slaughtering each other only with the most rudimentary tools. since the very act of producing knives and swords may be seen as depleting natural resources and endangering the environment, perhaps we should arm ourselves with stones and fallen branches to continue our violent ways. this killing spree of ours is a holy cause and we should never cease. each human life we take adds a bit more room for the natural world to ease the suffering we have caused it and begin the healing it so desperately needs.

we should of course immediately cease the production of any foodstuffs. the plants and animals of this world have been under the thumb of mankind for far too long and, being more a part of the natural world, they have far more right to existence than any man, woman or child. we should also cease our constant bathing, just think of how we pollute the virgin waters of earth with our foul stench, and the use of any form of fire should be outlawed, better we should all freeze than harm the purity of nature with the noxious fumes of any man-made flame. our footsteps trample the delicate ground, the cacophony of our gathered voices merely drowns out the heavenly chorus, our very existence is an affront to the natural world.

perhaps it would be best if we all merely covered ourselves with earth and simply stopped breathing. even the carbon dioxide of our breath is an abomination that should never have been allowed.

I have always loved this idea. Maybe not the fighting with stones and sticks part, but the part about making war personal again. Most of the fighting in modern times is done at a distance. You shoot someone 100 yards away and forget about it. War should be done with swords and knives and axes like in ancient times. You will never forget the look on a man's face as you cut off his arms and jam your axe into his neck. Then there would only be war when it was absolutely necessary. Now going to war is as easy as identifying a target and getting the authority to drop bombs on it.


As for ending wars for the good of the environment...good luck with that.The only thing that can stop humans from fighting with eachother would be an alien attack. In such a situation, we would quickly realize how we humans are all brothers and sisters and then we'd fight together against the alien invaders. So either way there is gonna be war.

Maybe the solution then is for wars to go green. That is happening as we speak with the production of biodegradble ammunition. You can shoot an enemy squad to ribbons but at least you will know your bullet casings arn't hurting the environment.

I like how you think, although I feel anyone seen breaking a branch from a tree should be killed on site. Stoning would be preferable, although you are forgetting one fundamental problem. We have no authorization to move a stone from one position to another. Imagine the possible ramifications to the animal kingdom from displacing that simple stone. Are you so cold you don't care about the algae that has colonized that stone? They did not choose to be thrown and covered in the vile blood of humans. Or perhaps that stone is shelter to one of those creatures we call snakes and by lifting it, you are simply contributing to the homelessness of innocent lives.

You are correct though, I can't believe I didn't see it initially, swords are harmful to the natural order. I feel it is obvious we should ban weapons of any sort and rely on our fists alone.

We should not however simply accept the fact we enjoy killing each other. We should encourage it. Any crime, no matter how mild, shall be punishable by death from another's hands. In this way alone can we save this environment we have so maliciously destroyed.

You are being sarcastic right? Weapons are the tools that forced mother nature into submission so we could fuck her in the first place. Without weapons we would still be scavengers living off the scraps of what the wolves leave us and what berries we could find. I don't wanna go back to those days. I might not be able to walk the streets at night without getting mugged, but at least I don't have to worry about getting eaten alive.

Yes, this is sarcasm. It worked for Jonathan Swift, so I figured the same technique could be used to make a point about all this global warming B.S. I also debated between this and the science board, and ultimately, due to the political motivations behind global warming, I felt this was the appropriate board.


By the way, it annoys me when people don't get sarcasm. I'm not talking about you, you were simply clarifying I wasn't a complete idiot. We had to read "A Modest Proposal" in one of my English classes yet again and someone actually tried to discuss how ridiculous the proposal was and about how he had to be crazy... "Who would actually propose eating children," she asked.

Cannibalism in general is positive to all societies. Unfortunately, cooking them would increase our carbon footprint... actually, imagine the disease that would be spread from eating them raw. I think we may have just stumbled into a great solution.

I will begin drawing up the legal documents in the next several days. Thank you for the great idea... Than again, I will commit the legal documents to memory, I would hate to kill a tree while attempting to save them. I don't want to be a hypocrite.

I think its very interesting that usually the ones that think the earth was made exclusively for the humans benefit (and profit) are the sames who are vehemently against the idea that God created the world (in seven days) just for the mankind... contraditory, it isnt?

People left religion behind... now they know. But what is the use of knowing that the universe appeared billions of years ago and that our earth is only a grain of sand among uncountable stars and galaxies and whatever else if people still thinks in the same medieval ways, when mankind was the center of the universe?

I think it wasnt much of a evolution...
