Obama going to have to cut deals ...
reading the news yesterday, an article caught my eye ... it was discussing how Obama is really going to have his work cut out for him, regarding his Health Care ideas ... primarily, it spoke of how he has a real fight on his hands, with the big pharmaceutical companies, etc ... in Politics, everything is about 'The Deal' ... possible scenario: Big Drug Company tells Obama, "OK, we'll back off on our demands, but you need to dump this whole 'medical marijuana' idea, we don't like people using FREE drugs, to help their ailments" .... hmmm ??? anybody's mind as twisted as mine ? ... that is how shit is done, in Washington D.C. ... I'm just postulating a theory, ya understand :D

Pretty much the same thing that was done with opiates. A natural plant that has received alot of demonizing by the government but still one of the best pain managing narcotics out there and it can be grown in your back yard. But because they can't make money on it if its growing in your vegetable garden they lobby to get it banned.
I know I'm mentioning one of the unmentionables but I'm just using it as another example of what happens when big money gets invovled. There is not a plant on this planet that should be outlawed. All these plants are here for a reason.

Am I the only one who finds it ridiculous that there is this group of people that our government literally has to fight against in order to get any real change done. What is the fucking point of special interest groups and lobbyists in the first place? Do they enjoy making the American people suffer?

This will add to the conspiracy. look at all the money the PHARM industry has given politicians. USATODAY.com - Drugmakers go furthest to sway Congress

Um yes. I believe you know I am twisted as can be.
I have read tons of posts about the recent news from Holder/Obama. While it sounds good, I just have a few words of caution for those that are willing to just take Holder at his word.
This man personally has stated his opposition to any and all cannabis use period.
I am sure someone can get the exact quote from him, I don't have it handy, but....
A "policy" is not the same as a law.
You can always make exceptions to policy positions. I don't want to piss in the punch bowl here, but again, if you are going to take these two at their word, then look at all the words. Not just what you want to hear.
BTW,
I was visiting with Mr. Naulls last night about some of this. (Currently awaiting trial, some of you know who he is won't get into it here), but anyway, I noticed that he still has his gps ankle bracelet on, and he is still at risk of going to the joint. If Obama is sincere about his new "policy", then why do we still have members of our community on trial? His arrest came at the hands of the DEA obviously, he was raided by the feds, so what about him and the many others in the same boat?
Also a curious part of what Holder said, something to the effect of no longer raiding "state approved" clinics.
Is this going to be like the definition of "is".
Technically, prop 215 does not allow for dispensaries, so technically, none of them are "state approved". Or it could be construed as such, maybe. Then again maybe not, just trying to interject some of my thoughts regarding recent events. I hope they are all sincere.
But when was the last time you saw elected officals act in such a capacity?
Bush had a "policy" when it came to government spending, look how that turned out.
I am not dancing a jig just yet, and I would caution all of you to remain calm and keep a handle on your emotions, I understand that we are all passionate about this issue, (so do the powers that be). I find it pecular to say the least that the man behind the largest federal intrusion into private business, as well as the way states operate, for some reason is taking what is actually a more conservative position of respecting states rights.
If I wanted to get really twisted like TIR, I would just throw out there, that it is entirely possible that the question was planted, the answer carefully worded, to distract people from other much more pressing issues. Just a thought. Most likely not what happened. But again, I am just mentioning things that I have yet to see anyone else talk about. Hopefully...nah fuck it.
Good night.

I heard the speech and is this 'policy' in a written form, other than the print of the speech?? The health care plan we will be worried about is Obama's that he remain's present. That 'policy' can fade with him!
Mr. Naull's goes to court-I believe, the 24th. Another Granny goes tomorrow. It will be nice to go and see them drop all charges. 'due to new policy.' At any rate, this thread makes you wonder what will happen tomorrow in court! Will be sad to see these old case's in jail and everyone else 'free'.
A fundraiser for Naull's next week-end--Kush, you going? Our local MAPP/MAPs group will be there!
I/R very twisted, but 'follow the $" seems to be the way of our Gov't! :postgood: pr

Obama is only 1 in three groups of lawmakers. In regards to marijuana policy congress has much more influence than the president. There will be no change unless it is through congress and judiciary first. The drug companies spend massive amounts of money in order to keep their business running as usual. Unless we get some decent, honest politicians(becoming an oxymoron) the freedoms and liberties intially intended for us will never be achieved. Frankly, the only change I think we will see is the value of the dollar.

From what he said when I talked to him Saturday, he thinks that his date will be pushed back again, prosecutor doesn't seem to be in a rush to go to trial I guess? I dunno?
Fundraiser? Hell he never mentioned it! Most likely I will be working, and hanging out over at his place if I have some free time. (My son and his one of his girls are tight lol, as tight as 4 year olds can be!) ;)
I am gonna ask him about it though.
Might not be real great for me to be there anyway, I am kind of a sour puss at times, and tend to clash just slightly with most of the folks that would likely be there. :D I kept myself in check when he was having some fund raising bbq's at his old place, but it was not easy. I know that despite the extreme polar differences of opinion that I have with many, everyones heart is in the right place, I can only chew my own tongue for so long, and with my big mouth, I would surely eventually piss off someone, and he doesn't need me to do that. Maybe that's why he didn't tell me about it. Who knows, like I said, I'll ask him.
But yeah, just like you are wondering, so to am I about what is going to happen with current cases. We'll see eh. Hope that this new policy is applied to everyone past and present. Time will tell, but that would be a glaring indicator to me anyway, of how serious the administration is about their new "policy". If they still allow Ronnie, and everyone else that has already been charged to continue to be run through the ringer, then wtf are they doing? If that is the case, I would chalk it up to political lip service, or perhaps something a bit more, um..twisted. LIke I said though we will see.:) Hope for the best eh!

Man, I hope we both are dead wrong, and end up looking like huge assholes, I would love nothing more than that! I just have that feeling deep down in my gut that everything isn't going to be quite as we would all like to see it. Like I said, hope they prove me wrong.
