looking around do you think it would work as well to buy a CFL socket or two and go with a 150w CFL? seems like it would work as well the site im on right now says the 150w puts out about 7,000 lumes think if i got two of those for the top and use the veg light (two tube CFL's producing about 1200 lumes) would produce a pretty good yield?
this is a GREAT place to buy bulbs, etc..

look up the bulbs, click for more details, will tell ya all you want to know ... they have a CFL with 10,000 lumens, in fact
I agree. When hunting replacements for T5's, I searched for hours price comparing and I found 1000bulbs to be the best deal. $12-14 a bulb at dro store and $4 a bulb with 1kbulbs, had to buy a case though but hell, thats a shitload of free bulbs when you do the math.
1000 bulbs is great with Customer Service, too ... I had one arrive broken, replacement immediately shipped, and UPS pickup tag for the damaged one ... the lady there, is very helpful, and courteous ... they're in Texas, btw
okay mission done! went and got two 300 watt CFL's lol ok 65 real watts
i hate how they try to make them sound powerful and shit, any ways, what are your imputs on how its going?
the two bulbs i bought are i believe 46 or 4800 lumes each. dont remember and the CFL tubes i was running for veg were 1600 lumes for both tubes. Think it will produce a pretty well yeild?
oh btw i put the CFL tubes on the back wall and im thinking about turning the plant everyday so it gets equal light. think this is pretty good?
Id say its a pretty damn good flowering light for $35 from lowes.
I have 30 000 lumens off 18 cfls. On 2 plants and I think I will yeild about 2 onces... Log is in my sig!
im thinking of adding one, maybe two of the 65 watters next week. i still need to go paint the box, im hopefully doing that tomorrow morning as well as cut the hole for the inlet fan.
your plants are looking fantastic!
hope adding a few more lights get some more yeild from my bby girl
I bought a t-5 system High Tech Garden Supply 5000 lumens per tube bulb $7.95 a bulb...they sell the the bllom spectrum bullbs too but they cost $2 High Tech Garden Supply
Vaped g13, that is 5000 lumens TOTAL for that whole rig ... you could get a lot more light, for a lot less money, making your own setup (and going up to 40-watt, 48" long tubes), or, large CFLs ... if you have the space, of course ... :smokin:
No Bro thats the lumens for 1 - 4 ft. bulb cost per bulb $7.95High Tech Garden SupplyQuote:

my light is in a 4 ft by 2 ft area or 8 sq ft...... divide the lumens 40,000 by 8 gives me 5000 lumens per sq ft .... I'm going to add 2 more of these systems to the sides when I'm in bud but I'm going to use the bloom bulbs......5000 lumens per bulb with either version
I understand ... you have almost the same setup I have had (4x2x8), I wound up with sixteen 40-watt tubes (total 56,000 lumens), before switching to a 400-watt HPS ... there's no comparison, seriously ... what they don't tell you, 56,000 lumens of fluoro doesn't even equal 40,000 lumens of HPS ... here's why: a fluoro may put out 5000 lumens UP CLOSE, but, drops drastically, even inches away ...that's why we 'float' a fluoro tube an inch above the plant tops ... I had a chart once, that documented the lumens, as they 'fall off', with each inch of increased distance ... it ain't even close ... after reading it, I immediately ordered my first 400 HPS ... not too be badmouthing your setup, or anything ... it's fine  ... I'm just pointing out what works better, and why ... I used to get so pissed at everybody prodding me to drop the tubes, and go HPS, but, I'm thanking those people now ... good growing
