1.5'Dx2.5'Hx3.2'W Cabinet CFL Grow

Well, Hello! Im glad this site is back up, so I can show my current grow that i just switched to 12/12 and get some good feedback.
The first plant that sprouted is about 10" id say. Ill find out when I turn the lights on in a bit.
The other two that will be going into flower are 6-7".
And I also have 3 that are just developing the first cotyledon(sp?) leaves, which will grow 12/12 from seed basically. How long does it take to autoflower when grown like this?

I could def use more veg time, but space is limited. I hope I can do a nice job in a short amount of time.

Two of the plants are pure power plant and the rest dank bagseed.

Lighting- 3x42Watt CFL 2700k and idk why, but I bought 3 17 watt rated grow lights from walmart. They are mounted on the sides and if they do shit it will at least be side lighting and not intense for the babies. And before ive sprouted a plant with one.

I was on another site yesterday and there was a guy with an auto-grow strain,AK x something,can't remember...He's in his 20 something day of flower and still hasn't been able to sex his plants...Hope this isn't the case with your plants...I have two breeds of autos...The first being LowRyder2(fem) and the second "Flumpy's LowDown Mystery Auto"(private breeder) but I have yet to run an auto grow...

Its not an autoflower strain, I dont think. Just some plants will be 12/12 light schedule from the start and Im guessing it will just start to flower when it does.

Forgot to add. Im using FFOF no extra perlite tho.

And for ventilation I have computer fans keeping the temps between 73-78

Don't ask how long it takes to auto-flower...Just ask how long it usually takes to start flowering...

here are some pictures of the two farthest along.

They are recovering nicely now from a soil lockout aftert they may have got nute burn? Either way they are in good soil and liking the nutes now. I just lsted the biggest plant a day and its already reaching back up into the light.

As a fellow CFL user, I've got a question for you. How are you planning on preventing light from entering/escaping the computer fan exhaust?

Ive heard of the black things that go on the front of speakers work well.

I have a couple of areas that need some patchin up, but for the fan i have some similar fabric to that^^^^ and will just tack it on the inside.

let me know how that works out for you. I may have to give it a try myself

I shouldnt have any problems with light leaks. I stand in my room and it is almost completely dark and the grow is in the closet.

I bought a 2ft 4 bulb sunblaze that i have been using. Im having trouble deciding on how to pair my lights up and hopefully someone can help out.

I have: 3x 42 2700kCFLs ( they are big and bulky for my operation so I cant put them on the lid of my cab and have since put the t5 there.) 1. Im thinking of just put it on one side standing up and a reflector towards the plants but then id have to move the 3 babies elsewhere. Or 2. I could cut holes in the side so they wouldnt be all up in the plants, but that would take some time and may not turn out as expected.
Sunblaze 2ft 4bulb-8000 lumens- Im using 2 blue and 2 red, should i go all red or use this for more light penetration.

There may be spider mites or something eatin up my leaves. Ill have some pictures later, but it looks like some in holes in the leaves on one of my plants. I got some miticide that im going to treat it with if that seems to be the case.

Also, Im going to make the diy febreeze odor control because odor isnt that big of an issue or doesnt seem like it, yet.

its been kinda cold, so im going to run the heat so its not such a big difference

all three of the plants 1 ppp and 2 bagseed are showing female pistils. lights have been on 12 hrs a day for a week and im thinking i should have used a dark period before the switch to 12/12.

I switched to 12/12 9-10 days ago and all 3 plants are showing fem. pre-flowers a few days asho.

The pure power plant (front picture 10" untied) of course would be as its the fem from nirvana and it has the most budsites that look promising. Im happy both the bagseed turned out to be female as well
One bagseed is bushier(top 6") than the other(right6").

My humidity has randomly gone from 50 to 70 for no apparent reason. How can i keep it down? And i think that is causing my problem, bc it seems some mold is forming in my soil, but not on the plant at all. I can fix this right and still have buds if i keep kill the mold and keep it clear of the plant, correct?

Intresting man, imagine a whole room with build in CFL grow boxes inside everything. Have like 5 dressers decked out.. I'll be watching, peace man.

ya i hear ya ^^^. After this grow, Im gutting a dresser to build a 400 or 600w hps 30 sqft cab. It should be nice and I should be able to fit 6 in there and convert this to strictly veg and get some decent production.

shes only bought 9inch. tall at most. shes just a huuge bitch and the lst seems to be doing wonders. you can see in the pic 2 days ago how much shes grown. its exaggerated by the pictures bc i tied it down.

its about day 5,6ish of flower give or take a few. I called all females too early. It seems one of the bagseeds that had what looked like a pistil are actually tiny balls.

Okay, things have been going slow and Im not real sure when they started showing pre-flowers, but it was sometime between the last post feb 23-march. So, that being said, they are somewhere between 1 wk-2wks.

They have been putting on a lil bit of weight and smelling quite nicely. On the larger bud-producin ppp a lot of the pistils are pinkish with a couple purple ones.

The first pic is from week one flower when the pistils first started to come out. And again from last night the middle pic is a close up of the PPP, and the picture on the right is as follows showing PPP(right) bagseed(top middle) PPP(left bottom 12/12 from seed)

Well, anyway, a lot of the pistils on the ppp are pinkish/orangish and at first I thought the low templs may of contributed to that, but I found some ball lookin things on one of the lower branches that I plucked off. Im not sure if they were balls or just new growth inbetween the nodes. I did see two nanners that im almost certain were in fact nanners.

If my camera werent garbage Id be able to show and tell. Im going to find some hermie pics and try to determine if thats what i have here on meh hands. Doesnt matter terribly to me if the pistils are changing colors because of pollenation. Id like some more PPP seeds if it does happen, but i still wanna have some fire to toke up on.

A lot of the pistils like ive said are pinkish/orangish. Is this pollenation? Most of the top growth have different colored pistils while the bud sites underneath the canopy are mostly white. If pollenation got spread around it just wouldnt be on the top? would it? And on the bagseed plant most the pistils are white, but some or pinkish orange like the other.

I didn't see any males, I doubt you have cannabis pollen, and unless its already a hermie (unlikely), there is no way your plants could be pollinated. Everything looks good so far:thumbsup:

You are supposed to start counting days for flowering when you switch your lights....not when you see pistils. you started the log saying they were switched on feb 7th which means they are about 5 weeks. Then later you said a different date which would put them on about day 30. So, how far along are they?

I had no idea and just figured flowering started when pre-flowers and shorthly therafter pistils came about.

Judging by the log since my memory is clouded, it seems feb 7th is the date. That would make today a day after 4 1/2 weeks- 33 days.

(By the log) They showed pre-flowers between Feb 15th-20th putting them at 20-25 days if that is when you start. But it is when you switch the lights ya?

Im glad someone else decided to chime in because I have been wondering the same exact thing. How far along do they look?

Look about right at 4 1/2 weeks, I got some just over 5 and yours look right on track. They should start packing on the weight now.

Just wanna to tell ya so you don't go past your harvest window and wonder why you bud isn't as strong as it should be.

In other (bad) news....

Im starting to get that powdery mildew on some of my leaves. I have more than adequate ventilation, but cant get my humidity below 50 lights on and 65 lights off. Ive been looking to find an inexpensive solution and it seems stinky recommends neem oil as a fungicide in another thread. I really really need a dehumidifier so this doesnt spread. Its just been on a few leaves and ive plucked those off in fear.

I have a small cup of silica gel, but it seems i need to fill that bitch to the rim. It kinda takes a minute to snatch 20 of those packets from the store while not seeming sketch.

Wierd question... would rice work the same?? just remembered h202 will work, but i need to solve this not curtail it.

One more question...


correct me if im wrong, but the water in the air is directly tied to temperature right? So, if i raise the temp less water will be in the air??

Okay, Ive done a little something on my own and added a portable heater thats gettin things a little more in check.

Temps are rising, but id rather deal with herm issues than mold and plus ive already seen some nanners.. i think, hope not, but i think

Humidity is dropping from 65 to 62 and is continuing on its way down. Only been runnin the heater for half an hour, so hopefully it will continue on its way.

Off to the store to get some of that hydrogen peroxide.
If temps get too high ill add another exhaust

i hated to do it, but i had to check in on shit again. Temps are rising still at
79F and humidity is dropping still at 54.

Thank whoever this helped. Im going to replace my 75 cfm fan with one bladed chipped off with a 85 cfm dc fan that moves quite a bit of air and ill run the heater during the dark hours and on and off during lights on.

Are there any fire hazard risk while running this heater? im afraid my extention power supply will catch ablaze or some crazy shit from being too hot. could that happen?

Temps a renot directly related to humidity, moisture in the air is directly related to humidity. Raising temps won't necessarily lower hum levels, 79 is way too warm and will promote fungus to grow. Dehumidifier is your best bet.
