1 failed indoor, 2 successful outdoor plants, decent foundation
I've been wanting to really do an indoor grow for about 2 years or so...finally stepping up to the plate...
My last indoor attempt was going alright for about 1 month then i pretty much killed her. I tried to love her too much and it backfired.
This summer I had 2 outdoor plants who did very well for my first successful grow. I ended up with (2) 7 ft+ tall plants. I ended with with a modest dry weight of 10 oz per plant. I believe this grow was successful b/c i had more than enough room to grow and I worked quite a bit so i could only spend 30 minutes or so with them every 2 to 3 days. Forgot to mention that these beans were from bag seed but the genetics were not bad. I never got a pic of these because i don't own a camera. My girl does though so I have to be around her if ever want to take pics.
Now it's time for me to do my first truly down to earth real indoor grow. I've assembled a small cabinet that is just large enough to hold a 4 T8 lights which i have recently purchased. This is going to be my veg cabinet. I'm searching craigslist and yard sales trying to find a bigger dresser for my flowering room. But as for now I will start my seeds in my first cabinet. This cabinet will eventually be my mother cab but thats farther down the line.
I ordered some seeds from seedboutique and they were shipped yesterday so now its just wait time. I ordered the nrs-durban poison and nrs-ice. however I'm gonna decide which seeds to grow once i get my freebies. I may just use the freebies this time and for a second grow use another strain.
One last comment. I will be using soil for this grow. I know some people have problems with miracle grow soil. But i used it for my last grow and everything went fine. Now it looks like i'm gonna have to do some more posting so that I can upload pictures. Questions and comments are welcome.
Peace
CMAN :rasta:

finally got my seed order in....thank god

i went and looked up the strain and i decided i'm going to grow these for the time being.
Seeds are soaking in water until they drop then they are going into the paper towel.

So all five beans have sprouted a tap root...woot woot...
the biggest tap root was a little over a quarter centimeter...
the smallest was barely poking out but regardless i threw them all in a mix of my potting soil with vermiculite...needed to add a tad more drainage than the miracle grow gives me.
Now i've got the solo cups covered with saran with a few small holes to act as my humidity dome. They are remaining on the hot water heater til I see some action behind the dirt. Then they are going under the t8's. I'm also considering adding some CFL's in the cab in a few days.
I also picked up a moisture/ph tester/light intensity tester. Tested my set up and decided i might like to get a lil bit brighter in there.

i know its not much change but here are some current pics...if you can zoom in like on my computer then you will see some sparklies coming...if not then trust me they are there...i know the plant is small...but originally i was flowering it in a small cabinet and now i have all this room....she is still claw leaf but i know she is not getting any worse....i watered today...a little honey and some of my flowering nutes....not anything too complex...just hoping she will beef up a little bit in the next few weeks...next grow i'm definitely going hps...now that i have the room i really can...she is actually a clone i took off of a dying plant...again due to heat that survived...i was desperate so i just threw her into flower...there is alot of things that i am going to do right next time...but hey ill be happy with any indoor harvest...i found outdoors to be too simple haha....i really want to master the art of the indoor grow...

to anyone out there watching and even those who aren't here is an update on the mazar...as you can see i have some burn spots....had one hell of a time combatting temps these days....but anyways....i'm thinking that a harvest by the end of this month may be just about right ....if not then the top is definitely coming off and ill leave the rest of the small buds to finish....i'd really like to reveg this plant because she has absolutely no smell whatsoever...not to me...not to my girlfriend....not to my roommates who all smoke...i didnt tell tell them about it tho...i justasked them if it smelled in my room and they said they couldnt smell anything and said maybe its my imagination...if i could reveg this sneaky ho then ill definitely try running something like a dr bud sog only organic soil and alot less plant count...anyways here they are

That little guy looks stressed as hell. My guess is that if you try to revert it back to veg, the extra stress is probably going to cause the plant to die on it's way. Why not just start over with the new knowledge you have and make it a point to do things the right way? The amount of time that it takes to revert a plant back to healthy veg is almost the same as it would be to grow a new plant from seed. Just an option, and we are here, reading and posting. I like to follow things for a minute before I add my 2 cents.
Also a note about smell. Smell is caused by the terpenes in the plant, and these terpene contents are determined largely by light amount/color/intensity and environmental factors. If you are growing under CFL, odds are the intensity isn't going to be there to fully activate those terpenes to their full potential. Hope that makes sense.
