blafagovich was dirty from the start ,i remember about 2 years ago he wa up on some stuff.
its just clean up time and they were lookin for a nobody govenor that had some dirt sacrifice.
I think there will be more of this ,obama is a truthfull style person with true feelings and he will clean it up a bit....i hope
I'm sure we'll find out more in the coming weeks. I'm sure Obama was involved in talks with the gov, thats only normal. But what was said between the two should be interesting. The gov didn't appear to like Obama much so thats a good sign for Obama.
Read the new's much?Quote:

Provided they are worthy candidates of course. There are all sorts of people who deserve a chance to positively shape this country that will never get that chance.
It does make you wonder:
cbs2chicago.com - Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich Arrested By Federal AgentsQuote:
In a conversation with Harris on November 11, the charges state, Blagojevich said he knew that the President-elect wanted Senate Candidate 1 for the open seat but "they're not willing to give me anything except appreciation. [Expletive] them." Earlier in that conversation, Blagojevich suggested starting a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, which he could head and engage in political activity and lobbying. In that conversation with Harris and other discussions with him and others over the next couple of days, Blagojevich suggested by name several well-known, wealthy individuals who could be prevailed upon to seed such an organization with $10-$15 million, and suggesting that he could take the organization's reins when he is no longer governor, according to the affidavit.
LOL, you got me there. I gave up TV six months ago and stopped reading about corruption a few months back. Ive never been happier here alone and quiet in the woods! they're all thick as thieves if you ask me!Quote:

A senate seat is an ELECTED, not appointed, position. The only reason that the senate seat is up for bid now is that in the case of a sitting senator in IL giving up his seat, the governor gets to appoint a replacement- a policy that I don't understand at all, since it is ripe for abuse, and already there is a lot of clamor to change it.
This belongs in Politics or Current Events, by the way.
Yes, as Stinky said, Obama WON his seat in an election, so he didn't pay anyone for an appointment. But now that Obama has vacated his seat before the end of his term, the Governor has the right to appoint somone to that seat for the remainder of the term --- that put him in a position to abuse his power and "sell" the seat. What a dirtball. If it is true, then he should do some jail time.
Anyway, I don't think any of this shit will splatter back on Obama. He didn't pay for his own seat, and the governor apparently was complaining about how Obama was not willing to play ball regarding this appointment.
From what I have heard it almost seems like Blagojevich has some kind of personality or mental disorder. He KNEW he was under investigation, he KNEW what happened to his predecessor, and he KNEW there was some possibility of wiretaps, but he still discussed this stuff on his phone and really thought he would get away with "selling" this seat. It seemed to never occur to him that he should just appoint a good senator for his state --- it was only about what he personally could get out of it. He seems like either a total idiot, or there was something pathological going on.
They need to get rid of this ability to appoint senators and congressmen --- it should always go to a special election. The current system invites abuse.
Personally I'd go with pathological. In the wiretap transcripts he tosses around the idea of taking the seat for himself, because he felt as a senator he would have greater resources to fight the investigation. At least thats what I've gathered. Of course I have been drugged to the gills for the past few days following the removal of my wisdom teeth, so I could be off base.
No, it's not the tooth meds --- it sounds like you heard what I heard. The man seemed at the very least delusional about what he could get away with.Quote:
