I think I over nuted my babies...
Well from the things I have read it looks like I overdid it a bit on the nutes. Just want to get the opinions of some vets. A little advice on correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated. It's only on the lowest set of leaves and is happening on all 4 of my plants. I'm assuming that is because I keep all 4 on about the same watering/feeding schedule. This pic best illustrates my problem. Please help :P

That looks like a Nitrogen deficiency or lockout?

Hi there.. Its tough to tell.. To me It looks like overwatering a bit.. Are you letting your plants dry out between waterings// What ferts are you using? Usually if your plants get too much nitrogen they will get very green and the tips of your leaves will burn... I dont think thats whats happening here. Did you check your PH? Do you have airmovement around these young ones... If anything those plants look like there not receiving enough nitrogen, and are somewhat stagnant..More pictures would help Good luck d:rastasmoke:

Could be alot of things. You'll have to fill out the troubleshooting form.
Nute burn would most likely be on upper leaves and the leaves would have burnt tips, they would almost crumble to the touch.
How's your lighting?

They look wet because I just watered them an hour ago. I have never watered enough to get run off, for fear of over watering. I let the soil get very dry between watering. One plant has minute tip burn on a lower set of leaves, but all have yellowish bottom most leaves. Here are some more pics to help. Thanks

You may need to transplant them into larger pots. Could be rootbound. What size of pots are they in now?
Another thing coud be, and I'm not sure of this at all, the culligan water is probably filtered and may not contain some of the nutrients that the plant needs. I think I read this somewhere else.
Although, I'm sure someone else could be more helpful.

I use 2 different kinds of pots. I believe they are both 2 gallon pots, here are some pics to help judge the size.

I'm waiting for the lights to come on before I go in there and look at em. It's damn hard not to do something about this, but I really don't want to make them worse. I have read that 2 gallon pots might be kind of small. What is an ideal pot size for plants that will finish around 3 ft???

I started with tap water with a pH of 7.2ish. I then watered each of my plants until i had runoff. The run off tested 6.8ish 6.5ish 6.5ish and 6.2ish for my plants. There has been no improvement and I am now noticing other tips starting to burn. Hope this helps diagnose my issue. Thanks

8 inches is very close for an 400 watt MH.

FYI you're actually in a soilless mix. ProMix is a peat based soilless mix. Your PH range for this is between 6.0 - 6.5 (I feel you can go as low as 5.8 but others may disagree with me.. ideally you want to be consistently at about 6.3.) . What is the ph of the water that runs out the bottom of your pots?
Also culligan? Isn't that a drinking water that you buy at the store or you have delivered to your home? Is it distilled or drinking water?

When was the last time you transplanted?
What size pot were they in prior and after transplanting?
Have you run a flush?

People do use MG with success. I personally wouldn't use it myself, but if I was forced to I would just run it at 1/2 strength.

You need good ventilation. Air being sucked out of the grow area with fresh air being drawn in. Simply recirculating the air is not enough.

Yellowing of lower leaves is normal. I'm guessing your problem is going to stem from the current shoe size of your plants. Honestly your plants look fairly good.
I'm guessing you haven't transplanted your plants in the 6-7 weeks that you've had them?
I think I over nuted my babies...
I moved my lamp up to about 13 inches above the canopy. As Dutch suggested.
Daihashi, I never watered enough to get runoff until today. The well water I used to do this was 7.2 going in, and within the ranges you specified coming out. As posted above. I had no idea that was a soil less mix. :)
Yes Culligan is reverse osmosis drinking water. I used that since I started being it's pH was neutral. I will switch to regular well water. I am almost positive the well water in this area is high in calcium. Any thoughts on this????
I have only transplanted once from a 12 oz. plastic cup to the pots they are in now. I did this about week 2. I'm pretty sure they are 2 gallon pots. I have not flushed at all.
I am going to they hydro store tomorrow and picking up some real nutes, instead of assaulting my plants with this Lowe's HD stuff. So I hope that does the trick.
As for the ventilation, fresh air is being brought into the room via fan in the door, as well as being removed from the tub area by a box fan. I have the small osilating fan blowing over the plants to help push the air through the tub. With the size of my house and the fact that it is in the bathroom, standard ventilation is not an option for me. i.e. no cutting holes in the wall etc. This room has no windows as well. So the only way I can figure to do this is with the fan in the door.
Thanks for all the information, glad to hear that this may not be anything I have done rather just the way things are.

You should definetly transplant those. They are planted pretty deep in those pots or take them out and put a fresh layer of soil at the bottom of the pot. I usually leaves about 1/2 - 1 inch showing on the inside.
But, If I wear you I would get a bigger pot and transplant. The size of pots you have work real well if you are going to flower a clone about 1 week after they root.
Hope this helped any.
