Wow I can't believe I'm the first one here to post about the Phish reunion that's planned for March of next year.
Anyone else get their ticket request in?
I'm trying to go to all three shows with the wife.

Holy shit! Very excited about this! Tickets will be very hard to come by after the first few hours I suspect.
I'm trying to go too. we should all get together once we're there!!!!
Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul!!!!!!!
I saw them back in 1996 and was not overly impressed, I found them to be a a little too spacey, ( As in space at GD concerts ). Allot of dead heads converted over to them after Jerry passed and I decided to see what it was about and never saw them since.
I may go to see them this time just to see if I may like them now. Hampton is also an Excellent Venue!! One of my Favorite places to see the GD.
JG.
I put in my request. Hopefully I get it! :)
I can very much relate to you on that, I didn't "get" phish for quite some time as well. Some cubensis mushrooms changed that, but that's another story LOL. I'd suggest trying to track down some pre-1996 Phish. That's about the time they really started exploring a lot "trance" spaces in their music (if that makes sense). Prior to that, the music had a much more focused groove. There's a couple of shows from 92 in Vermont with Carlos Santana that are just absurd I'll try and track down for you.Quote:

I got 2 tickets for saturday night.
Hopefully I see some of you in Hampton!
for realz!!! if there are several canndot peoples going we should seriously get together in the Lots or something...if i don't get tickets for the other nights I'll be rollin around there.
Hell yeah, that'll be cool, a big pow-wow smoke out in the parking lot!!
No tickets for the lotter but I got my next shot in just over 6 hours... I'm planning on being there all 3 nights.
well that sold out quick...
Oh well, no tickets for me... I'll catch some of you on Spring tour '09 I guess.
What really makes me sad is how much scalpers are asking for tickets. If I knew that the tickets were going to fans who were going to the shows I wouldn't feel that bad but it upsets me to see the greed (and there's no other word for it) that surrounds the ticket aftermarket.
I'll just throw it out there, if anyone can't go I'll be more than happy to pay face and then some for the tickets (need one for the wife too).
Oh well there'll be more shows...
yes this is very excitting news...:rastasmoke::jointsmile:
I got my tickets in the mail!
2 more weeks!
pfffft I wish. I stayed at my buddies house all night till tickets went on sale at 10 the next morning. We were online as soon as it turned and had shit for luck. It was either A. Immediately sold out or B. People bought every single one and were charging 150+ for a ticket. Phish is my favorite band ever, but no fucking way will I spend that much money to see ANY show once.
I'm with you, it just upsets me to see the prices the scalpers are charging. In some ways I can relate to the band wanting to play smaller venues, but I wish they would throw a huge festival again. Something to allow all their fans to see them. To be honest they could have booked stadiums and sold them out. At the same time, I have to respect them for booking venues that will emphasize the music over the "scene."Quote:

And I read somewhere that Phish will not be having any of their own festivals. Rather than work outside the festival scene, they are working in it. It's smart on their part. They get paid tons and don't have to deal with the headaches of setting up a festival (cough.Coventry.cough) and can just show up and play. I just think this reunion is basically a glorified reason to get paid though.
I'm starting my drive cross-country tomorrow morning. should be in hampton by thursday night, anyone else going to be around friday before the show???
also what do you guys do to get stashes into shows? ive always placed it close to the ole family jewels...
It was the first time I saw Phish and I don't know what they sounded like before, but damn, they were amazing, dunno if that was the LSD talking. They played some kick ass songs, Piper, Wolfman's Brother, Heavy Things, even played some Beatles, A Day In A Life. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see them, that was a blast.Quote:

Obviously being there though adds a lot to it. I think that the set-up honestly adds to the performance. That lighting rig looked out of this world! Glad you had a good time man.
Everything was still pretty standard cookie-cutter versions though. Then again I'm not the biggest Phish phan more-so an occassional one.
I'll get my chance to see them at Deer Creek so let's hope they are firing on all cylinders by then.
Oh yeah, it's one of those shows you had to be there. The lighting was out of this world and it perfectly synchronized with the music, it was awesome, especially with the state I was in! The Hampton Coliseum was just an awesome venue in general.Quote:

We finally went downstairs and tried to exit the place and there were a couple cops who were like "you can't leave, you aren't allowed to leave." I was like whoa man, and we went back in the venue and a moment later, Phish came back on and played Rock'n'Roll. It was the most surreal moment and I realized, this is really awesome. But every song they played, you just had to dance, everyone was dancing, it was great.
