You say you have one fan pulling air in, but where's the exhaust?
If you get a good enough fan pulling hot air out, your temps will go down :)

yea i new that would be a problem but the think is i dont know how to make a hole for another fan any ideas?

Umm... other than cutting it out? Haha The only other option is to contact the local Karate dojo and have them come chop an exhaust in it with their bare hands. :rasta:
I noticed that you have 2 previously unsuccessful grows. I can guarantee that you will have #3 if you don't find a way to exhange the air in there. Otherwise, you are basically just making a convection oven that will blow hot air all around the grow space.
Cool set-up though. Pretty stealth if you are able to seal up all lights. Although, if it is in the living room... it might be a bit strange that the speakers don't all work and there is a fan connected to the back of one of them. Haha.
But yeah, having the tools to cut intake/exhaust ports is crucial. Without them, you really will need to call that dojo.
HIIIIIIIYAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH chop.

That's a pretty nice grow cabbinet man. AlwYs thinking. What watt lights are you using? Try to go for 26w cool bulb for veg
And metal ur wrong. You don't need fresh air like that. Just helps the grow waaaaay more man.

Haha yes... you're right :D How dare I suggest such a thing?
Oh yeah, maybe the fact that they have had 2 previous failed attempts? ;)
Yeah, you can grow a plant with just light, dirt, and water... but most people seem to recommend adding fertilizer. You don't need them... but they help the grow wayyyy more :hippy:
I've seen so many people throw a seedling in a sealed box with a fan blowing on it... and it usually results in death.
I'm just trying to help them out to maximize the end result  No point in bullshitting around if you're going to take the risk, right?
Good airflow = Happy plants :D

lol ima hire that ninja
no but really im scared to make another hole for the outlet fan, im not really sure what i should use? im thinking maybe of just using a little skill saw to make the cut hopefully itll work alright
but the plants are doing alright otherwise. heres some pics

Very nice!
does it leak light at night?
-
inside speaker grow! NEED HELP PLEASE PICS! VERY COOL SETUP
i was always told foil isn't that great for reflecting light cuz it absorbs more than it reflects, anything white completely reflects light but dont quote me on that i'm far from a pro grower that's just what i get told alot
-
inside speaker grow! NEED HELP PLEASE PICS! VERY COOL SETUP
Most people say that tin foil is not great because of the creation of hot spots, due to creases, and also the reflection of heat. Mylar, when properly installed, seems to be a very good option. Flat white paint is probably the easiest. It reflects quite a bit of light, but more importantly... it does not reflect much heat. Depending on what type of paint... it can be cleaned fairly easily. Plus it makes it look like an operating room :rasta:
But hey, Shibby... I was thinking:
What does the back of the speaker look like? It's probably got some speaker wire inputs right? Could you take that out and run a tube from the grow space floor out through the bottom? Not sure if this is making sense :stoned: I'm looking at your pictures and trying to brainstorm. Even a small piece of thin ductwork could be attached to an exhaust fan with a reducer... that would at least move some air out of the box. Take some more pictures of all sides. Even the bottom, underneath. You could put it up on a crate or something and exhaust from the bottom. Just trying to picture places with open spots you won't have to cut.

:) thats mylar in there lol
thanks though
but anyways metal ill take some pics right now and hopefully get em up, thank you very very much for that idea there is a slot for the air in the bottom of the sub thats attatched to the speaker. i could easly hook up an exhaust to that, i never thought of it THANKSSS
but do you think it will be good for the plant (and heat) if the outlet is in the bottom of the box? cause i always assumed hot air will rise so should i make the inlet in the bottom and put the exhaust in the old inlet spot?
hope it makes sense hold on a sec ill get some pics
thank you seriously everyone for the feedback its greatly appreciated:rastasmoke:

Yeah, get those pics up. It's obviously not going to be the most efficient exhaust system ever created :stoned:... but it could pull some air out of there. What if you let some small duct work run up the inside of the cab to the top, near the lights? The fan would be outside the box... it would be pulling air from the top... down the duct work... through the floor... out the back speakerwire input hole. Get a decent fan and it may work out. Although, the more elaborate your creation... the less stealth it becomes. It will also take up some of your available grow space since you would have duct work inside the cab.
Just brainstorming...

oh and revenche the light doesnt leak allot but i mean where i cut the back of the speaker off i had to sand down the edges to put on the hinges, so here is minor light leakage but not too much
sorry bout the wait i was thinking hard about it, i think i might just take the bottom of the entire box off and make one big inlet with a 6-8 inch fan
ill cauk up the edges so it would be a good seal. it would bring alot of air in, but does anyone think that the cpu fan is enought for a deicent exhaust?

I would go more like 4" hole. You can get a 4" duct fan for $20 -$30 at home depot in the attic fan section, but you'll have to put an electrical wire on it. Some flexible 4" clothes dryer ducting and your all set. also look at the flanges you can get for dryer venting they screw right on makes it easy. Also if you want to regulate the temperature you can get a thermostat that will mount right inside the duct or box for another $50.

very neat plan . its tempting:D
do u have any idea of how much yield you are going to get out of that box-using any strains but the lowryders?
btw for airflow issue, i noticed that whenever my windows are closed and AC in the house starts to work, since it has the strongest and closest outlet in my room, it will force my door closed and even then there is a very strong air current going out of my room beneath the door.
Maybe u can have a stronger fan and airtight your enclosure and only leave out 1 hole or a horizontal cutting somewhere more out of sight, perhaps under the box or at the back of it...
air in = air out, even 1 fan should do the job with proper insulation and wide enough exhaust. at least in theory this sounds logical

whoa sorry everyone for the big wait pc was getting fixed, annny waysss the plants are kinda doing good, but kinda not they look really healthy on top but the bottom sets of leafs have yellowed and were completly dead so i took them off now the larger leafs are getting yellow spots. im not sure what its from maybe the dryness inside the box, not sure comments?

Did you ever work out the ventilation? You will probably need to provide more information regarding the soil composition, watering schedule, etc. Are those clay pots or plastic?
Either way, it looks like the soil may be a bit too rich for the young plants. If you don't have proper drainage, you could be seeing the beginnings of root rot. If you are overwatering, especially if they are clay pots... that will harm the plant.
But yeah... you probably need to include more specifics about your situation. If you want an accurate diagnosis from someone... fill this out:

What you have in there is not true Mylar. The stuff you have is like a space blanket and the creases are bad. it is not very thick so you are not reflecting as much light as 3 layers of that stuff. 2 mil mylar is really good stuff. I recommend that you just sand down the interior of the box and paint it a commercial indoor ceiling white found at home depot. it will reflect most of the light like mylar but sill keep the temps down.

well, here's what I would consider trying.
first take your plants out.
then the lighting, then everything else
then get 10 r 12 ft f panda plastic, duct tape, a staple gun, staples, and some srap cardboard, and carefully cut out and apply pp to the inside. make sure the bottom piece overlaps several inches up all the sides. get the pieces all in and snug with duct tape, then use the scrap cardboard to place on top of the edges of pp and SSTaple in!
then, use the bottom hole for intake. what are the dimensions of that rectangle? can you cut a 4 or 6 inch hole around it! go 6!
install yur fan on top, 4 inch hole? get the corresponding vent flange for the hole.
attach flexible ducting to both, done.
don't want the hole in the top? put it in the back upper corner.
this way you get yor hot air out and draw in cool fresh air. and pull it trough the cab naturally, and exhausting the heat from lights as it naturall rises.
then reinstall your lights put everything back, get a way to check ph, get cheapo plastic nurser pots, pack of keg cups, some kind of plastic tray to put on the bottom, maybe a grill, or sturdy wire grid to go on top. then put holes in the pots bottoms, up the sides, and when you water runoff can drip off into the tray and collect for easy removal and testing, and your pots aren't sitting in it.
that's what I would do first.

oh and you can see i lowered the plants down into the woofer and lowered some of the lights, because the fans down there, i changed the clay pots to plastic, do you guys think the plastic pots are big enough?
-
inside speaker grow! NEED HELP PLEASE PICS! VERY COOL SETUP
hey shibby, the upgrades look good. You'll want to reverse your fans, use the big one for exhaust and the small one for intake. They call it negative pressure.
The pots look good are they 4"?
-
inside speaker grow! NEED HELP PLEASE PICS! VERY COOL SETUP
The pots look like they're just the right size for inside the speaker box.
Good job getting your fans set up, because the plants look like they've been suffering from some heat issues.
How long do you plan to veg? The reason I ask is because I just grew a couple plants that I wanted to keep short, so I vegged for 2 weeks and started flowering...
The plants were about 4 inches tall. By the time they were harvested, they were both almost 2 feet tall... Just something for you to keep in mind. :)
Best of luck with them! :rastasmoke:

but on a larger scale. You diffinately have to get some proper ventilation going. This has a 4" inline exaust fan. and 4" inlet. don't know about the soil i go hydro. Am on my 3 rip in this setup and so far wonderful.
