So my college buddies and I have been planning a summer road trip to Vancouver and one of the main draws was the quaisi legalization of cannabis in Canada (specifically Vancouver). Ive been searching for updated legal news but most of the articles refer to busts done in late 2004. Can anyone from the area give me any information? Are their operating coffee shops? Is legalization progress being made? And are their any similiar options in Quebec? Thanks for any responces,

it doesnt look like its gona get legalized any time soon, with the edmonton shootings and all, and around here in Richmond(city right below vancouver), our schools have cousellers running all over the fucking place trying to bust dealers, so anti weed shit is pretty low right now

You cant buy in any bring your own cafe, like blunt bros. Blunt bros does not sell weed. You might meet someone there who will hook u up, but dont go in and start asking for people to sell to you, thats against the rules. Da kine used to sell but they got busted.
But there is lots of weed on the street.

the area is known as Vansterdam, 307 w Hastings, I think.
Check out the BC Marijuana Party Bookstore, and the Seed Shop.. Look around in the bookstores and coffee shops near there, you'll find someone who looks trustworthy.

Sidenote: the shootings that occured in Canada have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the marijuana community at large. Those guys were fucked, loooong lists of violence in the past, they're garbage. REAL marijuana enthusiasts (hopefully) wouldn't bring out guns.
not a bummer at all. piece of cake getting a bag on the blocks surrounding blunt bros and the old hbc store. there is a bar on the cross street just east of blunt bros where you can pick up anything by hanging around the pool table. plus just loitering on the streets around hastings will attract all sorts...be careful and have fun!

The police in Alberta that got shot and killed those guys were
investigating stolen cars,guns,threats,all different kinds of drugs.
MJ was the least of the problem.
In calgary they have a major MJ crackdown. The special police team
is smashing down doors and riading MJ grows all over town.
