sometimes it seems to me that people on this board choose to ignore the fact that cannabis is a drug. drugs are known to harm as well as help. cannabis being a drug can therefore harm or help. i used to be pretty close minded about it as well, thinking that it was wonderful and never caused any harm...but these days i sing a different tune.

Riiiiight... I'm pretty sure most of the people here, while they may not experience serious negative effects of Cannabis, realize that ABUSE of any drug is not recommended for a functional adult life. Obviously "drugs" are here to help... but CAN harm. I'm pretty sure that is why there is such a discussion over the drug ABUSE of this woman. It's not like we are looking at someone with a smokers cough and saying... "Ahhh, they didn't get that from smoking buds!" I feel sorry for her. She is a very sick person. This is sad that society can't or her loved ones cannot intervene and do something FOR here! Like lock her up in a room and get her off of all the crap she is on and give her cannabis to get off of it. Lots of sports drinks, protein bars and a good diet and exercise!

Sadly, if she got the mental help she and everyone deserve's, until they are well enough to handle life-maybe her teeth and skin woud be something she would notice. I doubt she can see past her nose with whatever she has been doing!

That sounds good but its not so simple :( weed does not help any w/d's at all it just makes it less annoying for some. Plus some drugs are deadly when w/ding you can't just cold turkey. You need to be weened off. But I agree that something needs to be done i mean we only get to live once.

Yeah addiction is natural selection....I remember reading she has bipolar disorder....as someone who as experience in dealing with both addiction and bpd I can vouch by saying it's hard to get clean, and stay that way. I think she might just have too much money now...when the money dries up or she gets stable she'll get sober...until then she'll stay a junkie. I'm tired of hearing/seeing her in the media, leave her alone.

I think the attitudes toward addiction in this post are pretty sickening. Addiction can happen to anyone. If no one had "wanted to save" certain members of my family, they wouldn't be alive today. Everyone makes mistakes, and drug addiction can be caused by or be a sign of mental illness. It's not cut and dry, no one ingests substances thinking "oh man sweet sweet dependence, oh yeaaaah".

Yea bipolar leads to drug abuse a lot. Its very rare to see someone get addicted to a drug only for its recreational properties. It is mostly depression, pain, or a mental illness. Kurt Kobain always said that he used heroin to get rid of his extreme stomach pain. I think it is very wrong that people look down on addicts they should be treated like people that are ill and everyone should try to help instead of looking down on them.

That is like the most perfect analogy that could have been given. Especially since, to American culture, addiction AND car crashes are considered the HIGHEST form of entertainment. Sad but true...

I obviously can't speak for anyone else, but I know my attitude portrayed in this particular thread is not generally how I would address such a tragic transformation. I think the fundamental difference between her... and most people suffering from addiction, is that she most likely has the resources and availability of top notch facilities to deal with that type of disorder. From someone who has dealt with various forms of addiction... as many of you know... you TRULY have to want and NEED to quit. She obviously has not reached that point yet. Just as we reserve the right to medicate, while potentially harming our bodies from smoking... others have the right to do what they see appropriate as long as it doesn't harm others. As commendable (and sometimes life saving) as interventions or counseling can be... it really is up to the user to seek rehabilitation IF it is to be for the long run. In many cases the relapse after a program is what causes that fatal overdose. Maybe it actually is better for her to spiral downward until she sees that hole from the bottom up. We simply can't make that decision.

As for people wanting or not wanting her to be saved... whatever. We will undoubtedly play zero role in her recovery... minus the people that purchase her album and fund her road to better health. Let us all just hope that the people who REALLY matter... in her personal life... care enough to show her that she deserves better than that and she WILL die if nothing changes.

I've had pretty impressive marijuana binges (tho even the terminology "binge" brings to mind a negative aspect...), and even if i probably couldn't afford the amounts the likes of poor Wino, I think a lot of us have had that one random night where we just got too fucked, too couch-locked, dare i say it made us feel ill? It's happened to me ONCE, and I was just too over-stimulated. I knew someone ONCE who got nauseous after smoking a nicely resinated Grandfather blunt, composed of a dozen or so blunt-roaches, but even THAT passed in a short period of time.

Cannabis-poisoning? Yea, maybe when you mix it with Meth, and then I'm pretty sure that's just called a "Meth OD". Fucking losers. Always trying to blame pot. Pot's probably fucking saved her life, sparked a hint of an appetite or something.. Makes her forget to take that last freebase.

I've had plenty of good hash, and never had any that I thought was bad (as in tainted) - but I haven't had any hash at all in a dog's age. I've only heard stories on here about a lot of it being bad in Europe these past few years, so it sounds plausable that a person with as little regard for their health as she has wouldn't be very picky about what, and/or how much, they smoke.

I wish that we still could get hash from Nepal, Tibet, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Morocco, etc., but those days are over.
