Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
McCain picks Alaska Gov. Palin as running mate - CNN.com
Well there's a transparent political move if I ever saw one. McCain is trying to attract Hillary Clinton's supporters, and not the Republican base. Oooh, I bet a few people here will be pretty pissed. This lack of enthusiasm among Republicans will only get worse now.

Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
John McCain chose Sarah Palin Republican Gov. of Alaska as his running mate.
Anyone know her position on Medical Cannabis?
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
I do believe its good as Alaska is pro MMJ and has been for-ever ....
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
that may be a bit optimistic, she is a Christian mother of five, and the Republican's 'fast-rising star' ... I would suspect she's every bit as anti-pot as McCain, etc... :(
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
According to Wikipedia, Ms. Palin smoked marijuana, when it was legal in her state, but didn't like it.

I found a reference saying that she tried cannabis when it was legal in Alaska.
Seems as though she was some kind of outdoor guide or ran some kind of sporting goods outdoor equipment store?
Heck ya never know maybe she is one stoney chick????

Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
from wiki:
Details of Palin's personal life have contributed to her political image. She hunts, eats moose hamburger, ice fishes, rides snowmobiles, and owns a float plane.[12][55] Palin holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association. She admits that she used marijuana when it was legal in Alaska, but says that she did not like it.[9]
I think I might want to get to know some more about this chick. Still not enough to make me want to vote for McCain though.

Why would we be pissed, this is a GREAT pick. Listen to the talk radio shows today if you don't think so.

Bill Clinton approves of this pick.
That's supposed to be his little thumb motion he always does.
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
listening now to her speech on the radio ... radio hosts 'Armstrong and Getty' just mentioned she has an '80% approval rating' in Alaska ... they also commented that "no matter which way the election goes, we're gonna have either a female VP, or a black president, history made" ... :smokin:
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
Regardless of her "cannabis position" she seems like one bad ass chick!
If she did indeed try cannabis, and just didn't like it so what? I would think that it would have been news here if a newly elected governor of AK had an agenda against cannabis. So maybe, maybe, she is tolerant, and respectful of peoples choice to use it FOR ANY REASON THEY WANT BE IT MEDICAL OR OTHERWISE!
It is a big red flag though, for cannabis anyway, to be a "fast rising star in the GOP". That gives me some caution. However, if she is really really conservative, (as opposed to just being a "republican"),then I would bet even if she personally does not use or like it, that she would not be supportive of legislating against it. We will soon see though! All in all seems to be an excellent choice. Hell not knowing much more about her than what has been posted, I am half inclined to have her as president over McCain!:D

LMAO! Now McCain is a lock! The snubbing that Clinton took from the DNC and Obama pissed off alot of the women voters, NOW they have a person to vote for. GREAT MOVE on the part of McCain.
Obama had the perfect opportunity to lock the election with the nomination of Clinton....now he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell. Husband is a union member, son just joined the service and is off to Iraq soon.....DAMN, what a choice!!:D

Just a pic so you know whom she is. I am not saying that it matters that she is really good looking, but WOW!
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
She's one sexy 44 year old.
And who cares if she's pro-weed (which she's not). McCain is anti-marijuana. Plain and simple.
The Republican party has offically become desperate. What better way to offset McCain's negative attributes then selecting a VP who seems completely opposite of him in a number of ways. It seems the Republican party can't rely on the old "experience issue" anymore. Just imagine if McCain died in office. Sarah Palin...President? Yikes..
She's still hot though.
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
It seems rather odd that McCain would pick someone from Alaska with all the corruption charges swirling around there senators and who knows who else. Doesn't seem like a smart choice but then the repubs don't really have many good choices for VP.
-
Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
Yeah but is she tainted with corruption like her good buddy senator?

So Obama doesn't have enough experience to be President but Sarah Palin does? I'd like to see him try and argue that one.
Come November, I'll bump this thread, and then you can try and explain why President-elect Obama didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. ;)

Solidifies my vote for the Mccain ticket. Excellant Choice, Ive always liked her. Deffenitely MILF material

Great post p4B!!! As i stated in the other thread this deffenitely locks in my vote for Mccain. And Khronik, I'll make sure to bump this thread for you when your hiding in your corner when your chosen one dosent get elected!

i was kinda shocked that they chose her because repbs. cried about the race cards and obama's inexperience. and they pull the gender card with an inexperienced unknown person. Seems pretty transparent to me. lets just say I added another reason to be disappointed at what my voter registration card says! and Im even more thoroughly convinced that the two party system is a sham and not healthy for America!

Is Palin running for President? No, McCain is and HE DOES have the experience needed for THAT position. As for Obama, when the phone rings at 3:00A.M. is Biden going to answer it? I sure hope so with Obama's "so called" experience for his stint in the state legislature and his limited time in Senate.
LMAO!!! Bill Clinton was saying at the convention that he to was accused of not having the experience just because he was only the Governor of Arkansas; now here we are only two days later with the Obama camp stating that being the Governor of Alaska doesn't have the experience to be a heart beat away? You just know that Bill and Hillary are laughing their asses off at Obama right now.
Oh yeah, PLEASE bump the thread......LOL.....I'll find it most amusing.:D

I like her and I'll be glad to vote for McCain/Palin.
I always wanted to vote for a woman but couldn't grit my teeth long enough to even fathom Clinton. A strong Republican woman is a fantastic pick!

Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick
It seems like Sarah Palin completely negates the experience argument against Obama, which is really the only argument that was getting any traction against him. If the experience issue was really that important to the McCain campaign, then why did they get someone with such thin experience? A year and a half as governor, not even one full 2-year term yet? And mayor of a small town before that?
That's surprising. The Obama campaign must be pleased about that.
And this is not going to pull the Hillary voters in. Hillary supporters were not just voting for a vagina. Hell, we've had a pair of boobs in the White House for 8 years, and you can be sure the Hillary voters were not supporting them. It's not about anatomy. They supported Hillary on issues, and Palin could not be farther away from Hillary on issues. They supported Hillary because she was qualified and was a woman who got so close to being nominated in a hard fought campaign, a woman who earned consideration. She wasn't lifted out of nowhere and offered up as a token female to draw in female voters. Certainly Palin is no where near as qualified to be president as Hillary was. It may well be insulting to Hillary voters if that is what this play is about.
The one thing she does bring is appeal to conservatives. I was hoping McCain would not have to pander to the evangelicals and pro-life social conservatives. That is the part of the Republican party that I cannot stand. But she might appeal to tha faction.
She is such an unknown that we'll have to spend some time finding out who she is and what her qualifications are. Has she ever been out of the country? Does she have any economic experience? Any national security experience?
McCain is 72 today, has a history of cancer, and he has a real chance of dying in office. This should have been a more serious choice.
It's far too early to say, but I think Sarah Palin may have been a bad choice.

Obama has an equal if not bigger chance of being knocked off/dying in office! And who does he pick? Biden!?
I dunno, Biden doesn't seem like that big of an element of change if you ask me! And isn't THAT what the whole Obama campaign is all about?

The Obama camp isn't saying that Palin doesn't have the experience to be president, but the fact that McCain chose her does make his best argument against Obama a lot less effective.
I can just imagine McCain being asked "Is Sarah Palin ready to be president?" and then followed up with "Is Obama?"

I'm not sure if you heard but, Palin isn't running for president. The VP spot historically has not required the same strenuous demand as president. Matter of fact for a short time in our history Several presidents ran and were elected to Office without a VP running mate.
So comparing a VP pick to a presidential candidate is a bit silly. If you want to do that then let's look at Biden. He has a WORLD of experience. In all honestly he's more qualified to be president than Obama is. Doesn't that look bad in itself when your VP is a better candidate than you are?

I agree with you but Dick made great strides to gain power for the office of the VP. So, there is a fair amount of power for Palin. also, I believe there is a more serious risk of McCain dying than in past presidential elections where I would look more seriously at the VP because they have a real chance of becoming the pres.

I'd rather take the chance on that then leave my children in the hands of a person with ties to racists and terrorists. Obama was a piss poor choice by the DNC.
As for the women voters, the same way that you saw the black vote go to Obama in the range of 90% + you'll see the same with this choice. When mothers start to shake her hand and find out a bit of her past they'll relate and then vote. Soccer mother of 5 that's intelligent, strong will, and has a disabled child; just pulling at the heart strings of moms everywhere. 18,000,000 voters may have cracked the glass ceiling but she busted through...LOL.

Exactly why I think Obama will be elected as President. I think a lot more younger people are ready for a different type of president who will focus on our counrty first and not trying to control the world.
You can't come out of being a POV fine, McCain served our country but anyone held that long doesnt come out straight minded.
