Check out the threads under S. CA. you'll find a variety of places to call for Doc's. Try contacting (most have email) one and find out! Good luck! pr
There are free clinics you can visit to tell them about your anxiety problem. Then just bring whatever paperwork from the clinic to the doctors.
Yeah most of the places prefer that you have some sort of previous information from another doc, such as written recommendations, perscriptions, or actual records. Talk to the doc and explain whats been going on and for how long. They can usually tell someone who is legit.
alright thanks guys/girls if it applies. im working on insurance right now actually. if i were to go to a doc with absolutely nothing would they still recommend me for a card or just give me one or how would it work?
I feel for you. That's not fun to deal with. It's good to hear that you find relief in something.
I understand how difficult it is to remain current with your doctor, especially with the cost of visits... not to mention recommended pharmaceuticals... BUT I really suggest that you visit a licensed doctor in your area to discuss your condition. If we are going to advocate Cannabis as a safe alternative to prescription medication... we should treat it as one. Although the majority of users have experienced it's positive effects through self experimentation... that is not a treatment plan issued by a doctor. If what we "preach" is really true... there are potentially patients that would NOT benefit from its use. Especially with two of the more severe adverse effects of THC being severe anxiety and panic attacks... you want to be sure your doctor doesn't disagree. Small things like current medications... to your blood pressure could require you to refrain from smoking. Maybe he recommends vaporizing or edibles due to a family history of lung disease. Seriously, you never know. If we are going to rely on the medical community to support the use of Cannabis, we have to rely on them to ultimately decide what is the safest, healthiest, best way to treat us. Even if that means he won't give you a recommendation.
Honestly, Anxiety is no joke... and a quick trip to a doctor will save you a potential loss of time and money. Wish you the best :hippy:

But, you know it works for you. So, at the least, get legal. If you have anxiety, does it effect your sleep. Insomnia is also on the list of things for a med. rec! very true i guess it all has to start at the doctors office to get things going. and yes i do have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep most nights and I have no idea why? It could be insomnia. But I do notice that with cannabis I fall asleep and usually stay asleep. Lately every since I moved houses, I seem to lay down to go to sleep and I end up tossing and turning anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours... and usually wake up after an hour or two of sleep once I finally do fall asleep... "sleep aides" do not help me either, I take them like the doc recommends and they do nothing for me... so im convinced that I need a medical card, I just need to get to the doc and get to california right? lol thanks guys keep the input coming please!!
...'I take them like the doc recommends..' : It doesn't matter what state your med records come from, they are good to go for you! Get and Keep those records! That ought do it for you. Good luck!! Insomnia is on the list, if you have experimented, then you know what it does for your anxiety-tell the mmj doc. Different medical strains do different things and you'll need to be a bit fussy! pr  Rots a ruk!Quote:

my uncle is a medical mari. supplier in oregon and ship to medical houses in cali and yes, you can get a license there...you just need to have a california address...grab a friends or open a po box.
california will give a permit to anyone! lool:thumbsup::hippy:
i have read some other threads that mention medicann, are they the best place to go to? does it depend on the doctor that you see? how long is your medical card/ diagnosis good for? do you have to renew it or anything like that? Frequent trips to the doctors?
I don't have personal experience from MediCann. The only info I have them is purely by hearsay. I hear that they are lenient as far as writing recommendation's for MMJ patients. What I also hear is they won't back you up in court if you get in trouble by the law (unlike the other doctors, like the ones on the CANORML site, for instance).
The doctor's recommendation is good for up to a year. Some doctors will give a restriction like, a 3 month or 6 month rec, and they may extend it if you see a specialist/therapist or whatnot. My rec is good for a year, and I'll have to go back to the doctor and get it renewed next April.
So if you get caught, the doctors will not back you up on your condition? is that because they dont want to get stripped of their license or just because they will not do it? and from your experience, what do you think I would qualify for as far as a term of a rec? my anxiety is not extreme and my insomnia is not extreme either as far as i know but what i know is that it bothers me constantly all day, all night when im awake. but with cannabis nothing seems to bother me like it normally would and I can go about my normal day without worry. Sound like I have a case?

I hope you see some relief from your anxiety.Quote:

1) go to a free clinic. tell them that you are suffering from anxiety. and that you would like a prescription for anything they think will help. explain it honestly. ask for a generic. WARNING: many urban free clinics will not prescribe anxiety meds, but they do have a free "crisis center". If you are truly suffering from anxiety ( a pain i know too well) I would suggest talking to them first. drug addicts abuse free clinics, thats why they may not be helpful. If you can leave with a record of your complaint, do it. if you have a history of telling them you have anxiety and them not doing it, you can show that alone to your potdoc. they want someone else on the hook for diagnosing you.
2) go buy the generic, eat them if you want, destroy them if you dont. (what ever you do, dont combine them with alcohol
3) take that pill bottle to any potdoc and they will write you a recco same day
4) take that rec to the county office and get a Cali State MMJ ID card
5) you are bullet proof after that. The Cali police no longer have the ability to arrest you.
6) ask for heavy indicas. i think that you will find that sativa exasperates anxiety.
I can recommend medicann. I am on HealthySF, and they gave me about %40 off. Dr. Jean Tallyrand is a standup guy, that supports our community. He regularly speaks in our defense. I have had 3 dif drs, because i felt dirty inside their office. IMHO incense and bob marley music is not synonomous with me seeking real medical attention for a legitimate problem. Medicann will sit down with you, and at least pretend to care. The other pot i tried docs didnt.
