$60 for an eighth of mids... what a crock of shit

All that is around here is stemmy-ass mexican shit weed and some mids that I have to pay $60 bucks for just to get a (light) eighth. What the fuck?

I must just not know the right people. I live in Raleigh, NC and that is not a terribly small city. Also, Duke, UNC and NCSU universities all within 30 miles. So I know there must be better weed around here somewhere. I guess I'm going to have to start hitting the bars more often and trying to spot tokers to befriend. I don't know... maybe this area of the country just has no good weed. In Cali I got a fat quarter of high quality trainwreck for $60. That I could deal with.

All I know is I"m never again paying $60 for a few grams of mids again. I would rather just be dry. I had been dry for a while, so I decided to give the one dealer I know in town another try. I came back from his house feeling like I had been raped. It's just not fucking worth it.

Alright, I'm done venting. Sorry about that. I need to move the west coast.

I hear ya on the price gouging. It was pretty dry in our area for a while. i was paying $100 for a 1/4 oz of mids. That's when i started growing. I haven't bought a bag in over 4 months now, i'm never dry, and it's 5 star shit.

do a small closet/cab grow. you'll thank yourself in a couple months.

$60 mids was the reason I started growing. Sick of dealing with scummy dealers. It's been probably 3 months since I've had to buy. My first grow wasn't too great, but it was still better then what I was buying before.

My next grow should be some stanky ass buds though. I'm not even going to know what to do with myself with real quality shit.

To these rednecks, they think they got something good when they got low mids. The best bet is to grow your own, then share a little with your friends to show them what really good weed is all about.

The weed seems to be drying up over here AGAIN, so people are selling wet bud, realy fucking annoying.. My usual dude has been dry for a while and when my other hook up is away iv had to go else ware and every time it been pretty wet. Buy the time its dryed out you feel like you just been raped as you'v hardley got fuck all left, and have to go and get another bit the next again night..

So now it got to the stage ware im like fuck it, even though iv been busted am gonna do another grow, got my self a house to do it in and a few peole to do it with and now ready to get started on growin some funky ass weed.. To be honest iv wanted to get another grow on the go for a while but just didnt want to risk doing it in my parents house outta respect and would be pretty pissed if I got there house raided from the police again..

So dude if you can, defo get your self a grow started and then you wont have to waste you money on shit weed AGAIN!

I'm in school at UNC. You're telling me all this stuff is all around me!? Damn... I need to get out with my classmates more. Maybe its because I'm in the law school. Law students may tend to be a little more hush hush outside their circle of close friends, because the State Bar can delay or deny them a license if it gets reports of illegal drug use, etc.

yeah dude its like that down here in the south, too. Everything is skimp, overpriced and definitely not the quality im use to. It's really hard to find a steady source, too. I just bought 2 dubs for 60 bucks and they were both skimp, my friend said it was mids though. I mean it's not dirt but it's not that great either. hang tough man, im sure things will get better soon.

i live in wisconsin and anytime of day i can get name brand high quality marijuana through more then one person..skeet!:thumbsup:

Last time I bought any weed, it was a 1/2 zip of schwag full of seeds for $80. Since my harvest, I am sitting fat with 3 strains of enough premium weed to last me for a year+ even with all that I have given away to friends to show them what real weed is all about. I just started another grow that should be ready for Valentines Day:thumbsup:

growing is cheap and easy, and the wait is well worth it.

Here here!!! I agree totally. I will never buy again if I can help it unless I'm out in between grows (which may be the case soon. I'm in between houses).

Grow your own it's higher quality, usually more potent and you have the convenience and satisfaction of growing your own.

I can't wait to start my next grow at the end of October. I anticipate a January harvest <crossing fingers> :hippy:

It's all who you know. People say this about where I live at, but you can get the same buds out west in the east. Granted it's more rare in the east, but watch, in the next 5-10 years, all they'll be is high-quality strains in the east, especially with the borders tightening up.

my personal best is 75 for a half of some mids. ive gotten oz's for 150 and i just picked up last friday and got a half for 75.

sometimes you just gotta do what you can. its situations like yours which is the reason why i wanna set up my operation, just enough to fulfill my appetite, and anyone who chooses to stop by for a booster.

its not always on who you know.. some times of the year it gets dry, and very few people have it, and if they do, its not much at all and thats the reason why the price is so high.

only problem with that is that people don't think about the law. on one hand you have *paying 150 an oz* and on the other you have *grow your own with a possibility of being caught growing it and spending yrs in prison* ..im not saying dont grow it, but a lot of people want to grow it not thinking about the consequences, and if they have a family its really not worth it.

yeah, "dry times" usually hold true in my area for mexican shit.

i would say for every 4 times mexican shit went dry in my town-conisdering htown being quite a close distance from border in comparison- in a say 4 year period, dro went dry 1ce [for few days only] exotic domestic harvest is almost always available in most urban areas, prices and qualities warry

as for dirtweed/schwag/mexican stuff or outdoors (generally the cheaper kind with seeds) i would say u run a much higher risk of going dry and gettin overcharged... even in htown right now customer price of an oz of some schwag goes in $60 range from just about $40 less than 2 years ago

your own grow is soooo worth it if u know how to stay stealth... our buddys have done a great job using all LED grow systems so far, reports are around just look for them and see for yourself and that leaves u almost invulnerable to helicopters and illegal infrared scans and/or electricity usage.

i have a family problem as well, since the owner of the house can really get in deep shit if ur grow gets busted. if other peoples lives will get directly affected (confiscation of the house) then u might just have to look for better and more reliable connects...

this is an illegal substance man, and these are the downsides of it we all have to deal with and run risks for one way or another... risk of getting the grow busted or risk of not having any control over your supply/price timing. and the issue of transportation/riding dirty!

Unless you were getting a hookup I seriously doubt you were paying $20/oz 2 years ago. But if you were good for you. Yes Houston does run dry at times, but if you hunt around you can find some.

Well police have to have a warrant to scan over your house, secondly helicopter fuel is expensive. They aren't going to waste it to see if you are doing anything illegal with your 400 watts of heat output. Lastly they can't tell from your electricity usage unless you are running like 6-10 lights. I mean if you're pulling like 10,000 Kwh a month then yeah, you're probably going to be in some crap, but if you're pulling an additional 500-2,000 kwh then you are not going to be flagged. Besides the electric company can't tell how much electricity you're using. You could generate the same usage by leaving all your lights on in your house if you were using incandencent bulbs.

Really the above that you posted is paranoia that many growers have. It's good to be paranoid.. it keeps you safe, but be realistic about your paranoias.

Yes, don't put others at danger if they are unaware of what's going on. If they give you the go ahead even with knowing the consequences then I say go for it, as long as you're smart and safe about it.

Perhaps if you lived out in the middle of no where, but in even a small city, it's impossible. You got weed coming from everywhere, mexico, canada, grown domestically, mailed from abroad. As long as you network with the right people, you'll never be dry.

i said $40 if im not mistaken, i could get it for $40 at times even 30 depending on bud and connects, till just about b4 april 2007... then area went dry and i quit smoking and a month ago i got a number of price quotes for 60 some 70 bucks for a zone of the crappy mexican schwag! and the guy wouldnt sell anything less than a 1/2 oz which would be $35... no nicks, dimes or 20 sacks at all!!! thats pretty much what u find around here unless u got a real cool hookup or u live in the hood or somethin...

Its tough out here for the buddha monsters, and often times downright frustrating. Pound of Kush go for $8000 in the city on the low side, makes me want to cry...almost. Our area has been on/off dry for about the past three months, however one can find some good in that. Such as learning how to adapt patience, and saving all that cash to put into a healthy grow op. Terrible to here you all get ripped on some mids, even more terrible to admit that I as well have been ripped on mids. Guess my old-school mentality doesn't really have a place in this new game.
