2200watt 4x10 sog help please

First off a good friend of mine is an old time indoor grower thats been using 3 400watt hps lights in a 4x10 closet and has always grown trees. Today he said its time to change and wants to upgrade to 2 digital 600watters and has a 1000 watter he can use. I have convinced him of doing sog and I have agreed to do the cloning for him.(hes always grown from seed) We were running some numbers and this is what we've come up with.

2200watts/40 sqft = 55 watts sqft

He was really low when using those 400 watters!

Im thinking 70 perfect pots (8.5x8.5x7)2 gallon pots forced to flower around 8 inches. I was thinking 1/2 to a ounce per plant. He will be using his strain that he has grow for 20+ years. Its about a 8 week strain and has just about everything in it. I would say Skunk is the first thing that comes to mind when I see and smell his buds.
He will have a veg room using 4ft shop lights also so fresh clones will be sent to flower as soon as flower room is empty.
Ventilation will not be a problem since the closet is in a large room thats dedicated to growing.
His hope in the end is to pull 4lbs every 8-10 weeks

Is this possible?Would less pots for more room or force to flower when smaller or bigger be better? Any input would be a help.:thumbsup:

Wow 2200 watts thats a pretty big grow, if my maths is correct 4lbs every 8 weeks is around an Oz a day, thats a big personal grow lol

Well its medical and personal so I guess Im golden. No one can give me any tips? I know many people on this site are very capable. Do you think they will need more room? Maybe force the little ladys earlier? Or even get rid of the 1000watter and add a 3rd 600?

iwould just get one 600 for now and see how much heat/light difference taht makes. maybe better to stick with 400s in a confined space. you get a better light footprint, and youcan place the light lower, not to mention longer bulb life and a lower electric bill.

You mention nothing of being a caregiver, nor a dispensary supplier, and a breeder wouldn't need to ask these questions. Seems meds are not your goal, but likely profit is.

I do not speak for this site, nor it's policies...but I do have a personal policy, that if I suspect a member of needing help with a commercial grow...advice will have to come from elsewhere. I feel that dealers scum of the earth worthy of no help from my friends and I.

Oh, there's a big difference...One is legalized by some individual states, (medical cannabis) one is a felony in some those same states. (sales or distribution of marijuana)
Were it not for the street sales, granted some may do without their meds. However, condoning felonious behavior (Manufacturing for sales, isn't it...? Not sure) is a good way to get the site removed from the web, which is why my personal morals are what they are.

In the real world, with street sales comes the stygma of violence, crimes, exposure to dangerous drugs and those that consume them. I would not expose my wife or family to 'those' kinds of people, and am personally offended that our government takes a semi-blind view on the matter. Perhaps yours are cool, but I'm not very trusting of those that hang-out with drug addicts. Not a very trustworthy lot.

Plus, I'm here to gain and spread knowledge about growing meds, not to learn how to stretch a medical grow into a couple of felonies.

A whole room(20x15)will be used and 4x10 area will be made with mylar. Venting will not be an issue. He is thinking of getting rid of the 1000watter though and adding a 3rd 600.

First of all you responded to say you will not help, thats real great! Second of all if someone in need of mj for an illness and is not legally able to use because of state laws does this mean they should not use the medicine? Should they take the big fuck you and send money to some dick heads that have a License to rip people off for something that has side effects that could be life threatening so uncle Sam can get his cut? I have already said this is not commercial. My friend has grown for over 25 yrs and wants to try something new. This would not be a year long operation just the colder months. He is not in this for $$. Good day

But it's incumbant upon you to supply meds to all of those unable to grow for themselves? For free...? How special you are, indeed. Guess your first mistake was not mentioning just how magnanimous and beneficent you really are.

I'm sure there will be other folks along to help you out, but I stand by my previous statements.

"4lbs every 8-10 weeks" is not a personal grow. (but then again, nor is it likely) There is no mention of being seasonal dependant. There is no mention of being a dispensary grow-op. There's no mention of meds at all. That is, until confronted with your own words.

Sounds more to me like you are simply trying to cover your ass with bullshit excuses and scenarios. Not that it really matters to anyone except me, but I don't believe you, and I don't help those that I believe are skirting site rules and cannabis law. A lot of time and effort goes into trying to legalize medical cannabis. This site is a fruit of those labors. Unfortunatelly, it only takes one moron to undo all that has been gained.

Wanna tell the world about your grow-op...and that you are lacking in grow knowledge and security matters? Well, you have already offered this insight to any interested party.
I have stated how I feel. Don't like it...? Tough shit. My job is to remain true to my morals, not yours.

There is obviously nothing preventing others from chiming-in and helping a fellow smoker learn to grow for retail distribution.

Didn't know I needed video evidence of his business. I figured the written evidence (in his own words) was good enough to wonder why the site rules were being broken.

No, I'm not a cop, but I do tend to get a bit testy when anothers irresponsibility can adversely affect all of the other members. I don't wish to see this site shut-down, or more restrictions imposed, because some salesman wants to blatently grow commercially, without even the slightest suggestion it was for anything but street sales.

I am a medical cannabis patient (chronic hep-c) with a valid prescription. I am over 21 years old, and I appreciate a site where a more mature approach to learning and teaching cannabis techniques are not frowned-upon, and that it actually has rules governing this topic...
