When you are feelin' sassy, here is how to go about it:
Monitor your temperatures and plant health during the week before you want to apply it.
Are the plants stressed at ALL? HAve your temps risen above 85'F even once?
If the answer to either is 'yes', you're not ready for it yet.
If the answer is no, you may apply it. Use NO MORE than the bottle says, and cut your background nutes down to 1/3 or less the strength you had previously been using.
Drop your room temps down to 75'F and never more than 80.
Raise your lights, or do what I do, whcih is kill the HIDs entirely and switch to backup lighting on the same timer/schedule. My backup lighting is a 24" t5 fixture in a 6x6x6 room. This also guarantees low temps.
Stay on this low temp-low light regime for 2-4 light cycles, then bring the lights back down to where they belong, or light them back up again if they were off.
Bring your nutrients back up slowly- go to 2/3 before you go full, and if you see even a HINT of yellowing leaves or a dull, lifeless lack of sheen on them that looks like heat stress, flsuh well and go back to partial lighting for another cycle or 2.
Personally I prefer to foliar feed it rather than liquid feed, as it does not stay in the soil and won't need to be flushed in case of emergency.
You can kill your crop with gravity. Take the instructions seriously!
Does Gravity contain nutrients? Kind of a dumb question I guess, since pretty much everything does. You can kill your plants with any nutrients. Please forgive my lack of knowledge and laziness to search, but what is Gravity designed for?
Stinky, did you mean you prefer to foliar feed solely, or just with the Gravity?
I decimated a couple of plants a few months ago using a combination of Gravity and Purple Maxx. I followed the directions closely but it was too hot in the grow area and it turned all of the leaves crispy brown and yellow. :wtf: Luckily I foliar fed them so it did not kill the plants, but harvest was less than expected. It did add resin but yield suffered. I'll not be using it again anytime soon...
Both the Gravity and PurpleMaxx aka SnowStorm aka Stacker are seaweed-derived non-nutrient supplements that I think are meant to deliver certain hormones found in kelp.
I give base nutes in the water, micronutes as foliar if needed, and the humboldt shit always by foliar. I'm a little scared after also losing a crop! lol
This stuff sounds pretty risky. Anything like Liquid Light? Probably not much I imagine, except the risk of overdoing it.
Gravity is an end of flower additive that is used to add weight and make buds nice and tight. Purple Maxx enhances color in many purple strains by stressing them. Other than the risk of use I don't see any similarities...Quote:

bushmaster is the one i would say be careful with. Its much like phosphoload (sp?) I follow something similar to stickys suggestion but with half nuts. i agree with the bottle. The more you use per gallon the shorter time you should use it. I use 2-3 ml per gallon for a whole week.
gravity is one of my favs. I used 5 mls per gallon with full nuts and have never had a problem with it. keep in mind that i run a pretty hot room. 78-85 with co2. but it turns my buds to rocks!!!! not sure why my results are different?!?!
purple maxx gives me mixed feelings. I have seen it help turn some plants purple but feel that the damage is not worth what you get from it. I would just get a purple strain. PM is the only humboldt i dont use anymore!
I heard someone mention Liquid light... i use this as well and love it. But all i see it do is double the amount and size of the arms in veg... but it also double(ish) yield!!! BUT i have FRIED some leaves before. I use it lightly.... cool my room, raise the light, and spray the plants back down with water after an hour or two.

I have also used all three humboldt product's.
I started clone's in 1 GL grow bag's and found that if you use small dose's
of bushmaster over the 1st 2 week's they stay short.
I reduced the nutrient's by 1/3 and used only 3-4ml's per gl the first
feed at the start of week-1 flowering.
Then i gave them a foiliar of 1ml per gl when i straight watered
a few day's later.
Then on the next feed i gave them another shot of 3-4ml gl and reduced nute's by a third.After doing that i ended up with squat 6" bushy little
sucker's.
I used purple maxx once a week for the entire grow.The purple maxx mainly creates alot more resin it seem's like.If your worrying about burning the plant's then use it when you give straight water to your plant's.
You could add the bushmaster to straight water also to avoid the burn.
I grew some kush once with purple maxx and going on twice without it and
when i use the PM the bud's and fan leave's got real frosty like snow.
If you use gravity on a strain that allready get's solid bud's like most indica's
be careful or you will end up with rock's.I had a mystery strain from
sagamatha seed's that was a frosty indica and i used to much gravity
and dropped a nug on the floor and it sounded like i dropped ballbearing
on the floor.
I use bushmaster and gravity.
So far I use the less amount over more time for both.
Bushmaster
1-2 drops per gallon at full ferts on the 5th 6th and 7th day into flowering followed by a res change.
gravity
Starting on the 6th week into flowering add a few drops into the res and repeat until you have achieved 3-4 drops per gallon over a 14 day period. I lower my ferts by 20% and add more sweet then any other additive. My lights stay the same as well as my temps. 85 degrees with co2.
I like using less of this stuff over more time because it does stress the plant. drops per gallon are an easy way to use this stuff without having to mess around with your fert schedule.
PS. a light spray of bushmaster,penetrator, and reverse in a foiler spray is a great combo too. No seeds at all.
I've used Gravity and Purple Maxx with no problems. I grow in Happy Frog, keep my temps between 76 and 78 and pH my water to 6.3. I use Gravity and Purple Maxx together for just one(1) feeding three weeks before harvest. I add 1 tsp. each of Gravity and Purple Maxx to half strength nutrient water. I also raise my HPS about 12 inches for a few days. One thing tho, don't use these products if your plants are not healthy or if they're stressed. Mark your calendar so you know when it's three weeks before harvest. If your plants are needing to be watered/feed every three days then three days before watering with Gravity and Purple Maxx, water with plain water.
A couple of things to keep your girls healthy. If you grow in potting soil in containers, water from-the-bottom. Plants release their waste material in the top layers of the soil so if you water from the top you're flushing the waste to the roots. Make sure to never overwater. Use the Lift the Pot method and you will never overwater.
