1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
they sprouted about a two weeks ago and already roots are touching the water. I love DWC! all net pots are sitting in two gallon buckets. each pland is under a 27W flouro. i will put 42W in their place nxt week. we found out that the lower wattage caused the plants to grow bushier. the 42w's mad them stretch a little. so i will let them bush up for a while and then switch the bulbs. i will add nutes in another week or so. ill also have some pictures up later. my first grow was just a run through and i was able to get my system set up the way i want to. so this is my first grow with me being settled down and not fixing the room every day. comments appreciated on progress. Thanks guys and i have learned so much from the website this year!!

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
just changed out my fem. northern bright and rooted k2 clone with a 2.5/2.5/2.5 ml/gal and 1 tsp cannazym this morning. the NB are nearly 1 month old and look beautiful. i totally removed superthrive from my lineup up supplements. it always seemed to burn the tips of my leaves. i have had great results with the cannazym. hopefully in one more month the ladies will be ready to flower. have pics soon. peece and smoke

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
i added about 18,000 more lumens with 2 42W and 1 30w CFL. i now have a total of about 40,000 lumens for veg. they will then be transferred under 400w hps to flower. the plants have blown up since i have added the nutes. everything is running as smooth as possible. they are about a month old today. I will give them full strength nutes on saturday. the k2 clone has grown about 4 inches in less than a week. pics up shortly. camera broke.

i was thinking about buying a 400w mh light. would this be enough for 6 plants? also what are the benefits over 250w of cfl??

Scroll through the thread, it's got tons of info regarding lumens per watt and the right kelvin temp for veg and flower.
I'm still a lurker, but I'm experimenting with bagseed and lst at the moment, but also trying to give a little info with some popular links I've found.
Good luck with your grow, I'll be following it. :bonghit:

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
thanks for the advice. i am getting a 400w mh this weekend. im gonna have 1 northern bright mother, one k2 mother, and one skunk haze mother, with about 3 or 4 clones underneath it. this is my first grow so i have a few questions. what is the best way to conserve the mother plant. should i just have it in ph'd water? do i leave it under 18/6 lighting and just keep pruning it every week? i have moved 3 northern brights and k2 under the 400w hps. growth is steady and they look very healthy. will go take pics shortly.

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
Get a 600watt HPS if you can instead. Looks great!!!
-
1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
would love a 600w but the temps are very hard to control in the closet. when i get my 400w mh i will vent the two air cooled fans together, and blow the air through the attic so no air from the lights hits the room. that should help with the heat for the most part. ill upgrade the light if i can stabalize the temp with two 400w lights. i also might put one of those hortilux bulbs in for my 400w hps. isthis a good idea?

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
Looking good italian, thought i'd throw some props back your way. An MH or HPS would benefit well especially now that the plants are getting bigger. I'm flowering under a 150w and 250w HPS, and i used the 150 and 2 cfl's with great results. Keep up the good work!! :smokebong:

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
ok so i got my room all nice and neat. i totally sectioned off my flower section of my closet. I have a vent from the a/c blowing in there. also both of my lights (one 4oowmh and one 400w hps) are vented together and exhausted out the room. i plan to buy another intake fan so i can have one intake blowing a/c and one sucking air through my lights.
pics:
1. flower side of the closet. light is still on 18/6. one more month of veg time for these ladies. then go 12/12
2. veg side of the room. have my two mothers and clones that i cut yesterday on 18/6 under 400wmh
3. another shot of clones. i am buying more panda film to enclose veg side as well, it allows me to control temps much better.
4. up close of my the two strongest plants. all plants are very healthy, no signs of stress or discoloration. going on 6 weeks old.
i hope the plants stay nice and bushy during veg so they will be nice and strong to hold sum huge nugs. i have them on a 2.2/1.5/.75 ml/ 1.5gal and 1 tsp of cannazym.
pH5.2-5.6
temp(room) 78-84 day and 75-78 night.
hum 45-60
ppm- do not check unless plants show signs of stress or burn. i know its under 1000ppm for sure.
thanks for checking up on my log. comments appreciated. smoke and peece:thumbsup:

1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
just an update. i didnt think i was getting the growth that i should so i upped the nutes a lil bit for the last 2 weeks of veg. i now have a 4.5/3/1.5 ml/1.5gal of gh 3 part nutes. the plants look beautiful. i lost my k2 mother b/c my roomates didnt even check on them when i went outta town and she dried up. good thing i already took a clone from 'er. anyways, i updating my light to a 400w cool tube that i just bought off ebay for $220. great deal. hopefully that will keep my temps below 84. besides the temps being a lil high, everything is going great. ill have pics in a few days. im selling all my old lights on craigslist. thanks for stopping by. peece

7 weeks of veg? o_O
And in DWC on top of it. If I did that with my WWs I would have 3 meter plants before harvest.
-
1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
they are from seeds and the temps are a little high so i veg a little longer bc i think they grow slower in the higher temps. besides the temp everything is fine. atleast they look healthy. im getting cool tubes for both of my lights this week so temps should lower a bit. thanks for the comments. peece

subscribed.. It's a shame you didn't have the MH at the beginning of your grow. Probably could've cut your veg time in half.
I'll probably be doing SOG this time around. I LST'd last time and it was alot of work and it got out of control fast.
I'll be going for SOG w/ even canopy. I'll be checking in to compare my grow against yours since we're growing a very similar strain.

may i ask why you are putting the plants in darkness before switching to flower? I have never heard of that, I would think it would retard growth due to shock?

i read it at this forum DWC, Bubblin' Buckets, What's Needed And How To - Cannabis Culture Forums
very interesting log. i came back from outta town and the ladies were already showing preflower, and stuck pretty bad. they look beautiful. i wil be changing buckets tomorrow morning. they will get full dose of nutes and awesome blossoms. i now have both of my cooltubes. just waiting on my 530cmf fan. im trying to decide how i want to vent my cab. its so hard to keep temps down cuz its so hot outside. clones look great as well. a little burned from adding nutes to early but they look good. i also bought a badass vape on ebay for 150. its pretty sweet. i would recommend it to everyone. thanks for all the comments. im so excited about these next 3 months. stay tuned!!

ok so im about 9 days into flower. i see a few white hairs on a couple but besides that nothing too noticeable. ive been perfecting my nutrient loads during flower and i wanted to get a few opinions on when to completely cut out the ferts to maintain a great flavor. i dont want to have any chemical taste in my bud, and i have seen that my plants grow great in ph'd water. i was thing about a month of heavy fert and about a month and a half straight ph water. how do u guys feel about that?? everything is going great except my camera is broke. have pics up soon as possible. any tip swould be great. thanks so much. peace
-

no one has an opinion about this??
-
1st DWC grow! Northern bright (northern light x haze)
You may end up with deficiency, the plant in flowering are using a lot of nutriments, but I'm not certain. Usually people use plain water 2 weeks before harvest. If you really want to have better tasting you should use organic fert.
