Ok so this is my first grow. It is outdoors, bagseed, and the plants are 47 days from sprout. I used miracle grow organic potting soil but other than that have been using no nutes, and let mother nature pretty much do her job with watering.

pic 1 is of all 13 plants together
5 is of some droopy leaves on the bottom of one of the plants
sorry for the poor quality of the pics i took them with my phone
theres another pic in there of droopy leaves as well
As this is my very first grow id love some advice, i guess they still have another 5 or 6 weeks or so of vegging but they just look small for their age right now. Should I get them on nutes? Since its difficult to get to my spot feeding is limited so i could probably feed twice a week or so would that be enough? Any and all comments are welcome.
All your pictures are blurry or focused on something other then the plants (the soil in the background, etc.) so it is very hard to see how they are doing. Try to learn how your camera works so as to be able to focus it better on the actual plants.
I don't think they look too terribly small for their age, but I could be wrong. I don't have much experience in growing... tried to grow last year and got all males, and almost totally wiped out by a severe thunderstorm this year. So take my words with a grain of salt.
The miracle grow normally has extended release nutes in it. Regardless, feeding twice a week would probably be way too much. Here is a good link concerning the nutrients for cannabis. Give it a read. Nutrients And Marijuana Grown In Soil
One thing I noticed is that all your pictures look shaded. It could just be the quality of the pic though. But just in case... how many hours of direct sunlight are they getting a day, in your estimation?
Yeah sorry again about the pics i took them with my phone so they were the best i could do, ill have to get out there with a real camera soon. The miracle grow has extended release, for a month i believe, so the nutes should be pretty much depleted i think by now. I think they get around 5 hours direct a day, its a pretty clear spot in the woods where they are.
they look stretched the fuck out?
try thinning some of the branches above your plants so they get AT LEAST 4 hours of direct sun per day.
I'd dare to say that I don't think your plants are going to live much longer...

How can i get them not to stretch? I was thinking of topping them soon would that be a good idea?Quote:

Topping is going to stress them out a little and necessarily wont help with stretching. They need more direct sun and possibly more intense indirect sun.Quote:

What kind of soil are they in? How much miracle gro did you apply to them and how often? What are the N-P-K values? What exactly is the Miracle Gro product you used?
Most people wait for their plants to reach around 30days old before they start fertilizing them.
not sure exactly what soil but this is similar... i know it had extended release nutrients

I'll try seeing if i can get them more direct light to lessen the stretching, thanks for your help southern.

I believe the land technically is classified as wetlands, the soil was not too dry, but full of roots, it took forever to take them all out. I did not till the MG into it.
It looks like the biggest problem is your lack of sufficient sunlight - would explain why they have stretched so much with little branching; they are trying to get to some sunlight. I'd advise you to transplant them into a better location with better lighting. When you transplanted you could then provide them good, fresh soil with nutrients. I would also mix in about 30-40% perllite, to allow your roots to grow better/faster. If you're using MG soil, I wouldn't put much in the way of nutrients - maybe a bit of Superthrive to encourage root development.
Ok its been a while since I last posted. We have plucked the males, and there are 6 females that remain. The pic below is of the plant that has shown the best bud so far. Also, we were having trouble with the plants not getting enough sunlight so we cut some trees back and its made a huge difference. Hopefully its not too late though, the plants are pretty undersized. I only had time to take 1 pic unfortunately, but its a nice one.
hey I see trich already. thats a great sign. what strains R they?
wanna see the other plants as a whole.
see the title of this thread? "... BAGSEEDQuote:

Yea it was just bagseed, but it looks and smells like some good stuff so far. Unfortunately I'll be leaving the state for a while, hopefully I can come back around harvest time but I go to school pretty far away. My growing partner is gonna have to take over hopefully they finish up nicely.
For a first grow though and not really having known what I was doing I'm pretty happy and I've learned a lot that will help me later on.
That's good you're looking at it from an positive perspective. Some learn better by reading and then others learn better from trial and error. :DQuote:
