First sub this week..need a vote of confidence

Hi everyone

I am new to this site and have been reading up non-stop for the last few days. I am planning on subbing with QF 4.0 on Friday of this week. I have been practicing and practicing and think I have it down to a science but I am still so nervous about someone finding out. Is it really so easy that as long as the temp is good I'm in the clear? I've been reading on here that it's illegal (duh) but still I'm just afraid that I'm gonna get a call from the MO saying, "yeah uhhhh we know you used fake piss"...I know its paranoid but I'm a first-timer...any confidence building comments would be greatly appreciated at this point. There has never been a poster here who has failed with QF. I've used it numerous times. As long as the temp is riight its 100%

All I can say here is dry run, dry run, dry run. Practice several times estimating as best as you can times and heat loss. When I had to sub I bought 2 small digital thermometers and gutted one and found the location where the beeper was inside of the first one (destroying it in the process) and then drilled a hole in the second one and using a wire, I pulled the brass contact off the beeper and filled with silicone caulk. That way I had a no noise thermometer, that I knew was accurate. If you know any one that has taken this test at this place before what you can learn from the about the way the test is conducted could prove very valuable to you.Best of luck to you. Maybe a politician some where will put an end to good people having to sell their 4th ammendment rights for a job sometime in our lifetime.

My pre-employment test was with LabCorp in June. I used Quick Fix 4.0 and passed with flying colors. It was sooooooo simple.

I already posted this question in another thread. Sorry, What is the best way to keep the QF at 98? Using the heating pad and a pocket or just crotching the bottle for awhile?

Crotching is the best because they usually have you empty your pockets. The heat pad is for emergencies if the temp is dropping too low. But you can usually keep the temp within range for 2 or 3 hours in your crotch.

if all u have to do is keep it in ur crotch then why get QF at all, just get someone elses urine and put the container in ur crotch

My reason is that I didn't want to ask anyone for their urine!

Because someone else's urine isn't 100%. We've had a couple posters here where they decided to do that only to find out the donor was on prescription drugs. Its worth $20 to KNOW that you're going to pass the UA and not risk your career.

Besides the scripted meds issue that Killer pointed out, how would you know for sure that the sub donor hasnt ingested large amounts of fluids prior to donating their urine to you, which can result in a ''diluted'' sample?

Call me old-fashioned, but I find something unnerving holding someone else's urine in my crotch ;)

Well I know a couple of ppl who are certainties, but I am taking a test soon and I don't have enough time to wait for the shipping of the QF

I have my test the 16th. I leave work and go about 2 blocks away for the test. The QF is in the mail and should be here friday or monday at the latest. I may not have access to a microwave Killer, Is this an issue? Can't I just crotch the bottle for a few hours to warm it or may this not be enough?

I could use the microwave at home at 8 30 am but the test isn't until 2pm. I do have other hand warmers around if the one provided doesn't work. I may just wrap the bottle in a warmer or two. How much can I trust the temp strip on the QF bottle? Should I grab a digi and check it right before I go in the building?

I would nuke it and get it to about 100 and crotch it. Then use the heat strip on it about an hour before the UA. Might be a good idea to have a couple extra heat strips.
I like to have a digital thermometer on me just to double check temp.
If the temp should still be a little to low during the UA. After you pour the QF in the cup, rub your thumb against your pants and hold your thumb on the temp strip for a few seconds and then walk right out and hand the cup to the tech.

Ok...so I am supposed to go for me UA tomorrow...and I am feeling pretty good about the whole subbing thing but my one issue at this point is I can't get over how QF smells like basically..nothing. I've read on here that it's not unusual for urine to not have an odor but I mean, if someone smells it and it's odorless..is that an immediate red flag? Can they fail based on lack of odor?

Nope. An absence of odor can occur in human samples as well as synthetic.

The red flags are raised when a collector catches wind of any unusual odor thats not supposed to be present in human urine (ie; bleach, household chemicals, gasoline, etc.)

Other than that, the collectors are not gonna arbitarily take a sniff of every urine sample. Thats disgusting.

We have had a couple posters here who said the tech smelled there urine. If any tech did that I'd go back in the restroom and puke.lol

Thanks for the tips killer. I have microwave access and I'm not very nervous at all. I have a digi that doesn't beep. Only 8 bucks and I double checked to make sure it was accurate.

I practiced today by nukeing for 13 seconds at the work microwave then crotching for an hour I had a temp of 98.3 then 98.8 two times in a row.

Don't wory about the smell bombshell, the techs are checking for chemicals as killer said. I thought the QF had a piss like sent when warm so no worries!

Staying calm and cool is the best you can do. The QF will work!
