Who knows?
I think the whole thing might be a prank. There is another thread at the very top of this forum, check out the dates, it's disgusting that so little information is available. Equally disgusting that the supporters of the first initiative don't seem to be supporting this one. This one is a "constitutional amendment" which requires the extra however many hundreds of thousands signatures. The first one failed somehow, still can't understand how? Wish someone would enlighten me. I mean the "Treatment of Farm Animals" they got their 400k whatever. How does the California Cannabis movement fail? I can promise you the proponents of that amendment had more money, and more interest, and more support, than the "Treatment of Farm Animals". I could be wrong though. I'll keep looking for the "Farm Animal" forums, but so far I can only find....questionable treatment of farm animals.
I suppose if you directly contacted the Sec of State, the link is in the previously mentioned thread, then they may be able to get the contact information for the author of the amendment...
I guess.
Good luck, drop back in on the other thread and let the other 1 person that is interested know what you do or find out!
I am putting my money on lame prank.

Im definatley gonna contact the sec of state and find out what to do. As for the lame prank, lets hope not. I really doubt it's a prank. it's not often people make something up that well.

If it's a prank then it was NOT done that well.
I still fail to see why there hasn't been anymore about this? WTF? Please post what you find out!

I found this Bill that is on obamas website. He is joining this bill, It is a bill that honors our constitution. This will make people proud to be american again! It's worth a read. It has the same idea that the Inailable rights act for marijuana has.

I'm still looking for more info, and i'll continue to post some info. I'm googling a lot of it.

The Secretary of Stateâ??s tracking number for this measure is 1341 and the Attorney Generalâ??s
tracking number is 08-0009.
The proponent for this measure, Christopher Springer, must collect signatures of 694,354
registered voters â?? the number equal to 8% of the total votes cast for governor in the 2006
gubernatorial election â?? in order to qualify it for the ballot. The proponent has 150 days to
circulate petitions for this measure, meaning the signatures must be collected by September 5,
2008.
There is no public contact information available for this proponent.

So let's review,
It should be in circulation NOW.
The proponent of the constitutional amendment cannot be contacted.
No one knows how to sign, or even volunteer to collect signatures.
Nice.
Too bad Jack Herer or any of the other supporters for the amendment that failed can't do anything to support this. Makes you wonder where their intrests really are?
At least it is consistent with the advocacy here in California, always half assed.

Ok NORML replied to my e-mail...:(
Hello Tyler,
Thanks for contacting NORML and having a keen interest in NORML's longstanding pro-reform advocacy efforts. Since 1970, NORML (and later, the NORML Foundation) assists the victims of cannabis prohibition as well as repesent the interests and concerns of the tens of millions of Americans who responsibly consume cannabis.
The link youâ??ve sent is to a petition in CA that needs almost 700,000 signatures to get onto the ballot.
The folks who set up the initiative are not affiliated with NORML and have provided no information to reform groups on how CA supporters can sign the petition.
Education, legislation and litigation, none of it in support of reform is made possible without the support of stakeholders like you.
Kind regards, thanks again for your interest and support,
Lee
