also umm, when i plant them should the sprout out of the seed face down or up? =P
I germinate directly in the soil after soaking...so...I don't know...from experience.
Down, I assume.
I'm pretty sure this is just a preference, and makes no real-word difference as long as the medium is loose enough for the taproot to move. Some people will tell you to plant with the pointy tip down, so the root will can effortlessly work its way into the soil - while others will tell you it makes no difference, and that gravity will take care of it regardless.
and also, i have to leave to go somewhere today for about half a week, and the seeds are almost a day into germing, can i just throw them into a little growing medium now or is it a must to wait for them to fully germinate?
i wouldn't leave them for a week and a half.. throw them into dirt before you go.. leave the rest up to mother nature
should i give it some plant food before i go? i have like miracle gro i can give it
You haven't done your homework yet.
Seriously, read the link in my signature. Your first post says you have grow experience, but I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around that statement in light of these questions.
Giving fertilizer to seedlings will KILL them.
The longest my silly ass ever finally transplanted germinated seeds to soil was something like 4 days after I knew they had popped. The roots had practically integrated into the damp paper towel in the tupperwear container I left em in. The seed sprouts developed just fine minus some stretching, but that first stage of the grow is one I'd be patient as ever with.
anyone had probs germinating lowryder2 seeds? ,i tried 4 only 2 turned out.and were drasticaly different in size when they got to the flowering stages ..1 short n fat ..the other tall n thin
Well the first time I tried like 4 years ago I put them in water soaked cotton balls for like a week coz I just forgot about them somehow. They grew the first to leaves and everything. There ws about 10 of them in this tiny deodorant lid lol. I fucked up tho coz I planted them outside in winter. :PQuote:

Im no expert by any means but what i did was put damp DAMP! not wet! lol tissue paper on the bottom of one of those chinese takeaway containers - then put the seeds i wanted to germinate in there (leaving as much space as possible between them) then put more damp tissue paper on top of them.
Stuck the whole box (sealed and everything) on top of my router - checked them once every 24 hours for signs of germination and dampness of tissue paper. all my seeds that would germinate took about 24/48 hours (but some can take longer) and then potted them - with the taproot facing down.
Reason i plant them taproot down is because then its faster - because if you pot them with it facing up you have to wait for gravity to take that over and down the seed before they start growing (thats what i read anyway) been growing fine since :)
